Our guide James was brilliant, he was informative and delivered a light hearted approach to city life as we walked around much of the lesser known and more interesting parts of Cologne. I would thoroughly recommend this tour if you want to learn more about a city and it’s people that is so much more than the majestic cathedral. It’s absolutely free, but please don’t hesitate to tip the guides who offer such an interesting experience as part of your visit to this lovely city.

I was today in the Free Walking Tour Cologne Old Town guided by Sofia. The tour was super complete, full of interesting information and we've visited nice places. Sofia was kind and she replied to all our questions. 5 Stars!

I've done probably 10 walking free walking tours around Europe but without a doubt today's with Arthur tops them all. He was simply amazing, funny, informative passionate and also compassionate where needed especially for the more sensitive side due to being in Berlin. The nearly 4 hour tour flew by in a flash and I learnt so much whilst also being funny (and a little rude!) at the same time. Thank you Arthur this was amazing and to anyone reading this book now - you will not regret it. 5* 100/100 Flawless.

Our super positive and friendly guide Narella was very helpful and gave a lot of interesting and maybe lesser know facts about Cologne that even locals might not know. It was very captivating to listen and learn the story of the city and it's people. Highly recommend.

I enjoyed my walking tour with Ella very much. She is so enthusiastic about Köln and it was awesome to follow her around the city. She had a lot of good recommendations what to do and since I haven’t had enough time to follow all her suggestions I have to come back another time. I really recommend to do this tour once you’re in Köln!

We just arrived in Köln and found Narella there and we joined super spontaneously to the tour. She was more than happy to welcome us and she was a great tourist guide. Super passionate and well informed. She truly loves Köln and knows the city and its History. One of the best free walking tours I had!

James was our guide and if I could I would give him 6 stars. An excellent communicator who obviously loves his adopted city. He covered everything from the foundation of the city to Andy Warhol and the Velvet Underground ‘s connection with Koln (no I didn’t know there was one either). We left feeling the city was well worth visiting. Do it on your first day as we did

We did the Cologne tour with Sofía and it was amazing. The tour started at the catedral and we went to all the hotspots of the city. Sofía was amazing at story telling. She gave all kinds of details but kept it simple and funny. She also made nice suggestions of other spots to visit as well as good places to eat. I would highly recommend to do the tour with her.

Absolutely fantastic tour. Kai was knowledgeable, enthusiastic and most of all, extremely funny. While the tour is not for kids, adults with any kind of sense of humor will get your money’s worth and then some. Highly recommend!!!

We took the morning tour with Kai and it was an excellent way to learn the basics about Berlin and it's past while hitting all the major sites of significance. Kai was an exceptional, patient, knowledgeable and professional guide who immediately welcomed everyone and made us feel at ease. His effort, energy and knowledge for the places we visited made the tour really standout. Four hours of quality content, outdoors in the cold working with complete strangers is a tough job and the donation-only setup represents real value - make sure you give at least 20 EUR per person, he deserves it. Not your standard, textbook tour, be prepared for fun and spicy language. Loved it! Recommended!

This walking tour was amazing. Highly recommend if you have 3.5 hrs. Wear walking shoes and bring water. Our guide Arthur a Brazilian guy with near perfect English/ German was very good at explaining hundreds of years of history in a way we could understand. They don’t really insult you that much. I was hoping to get roasted. Free walking tour how can you pass that up. Of course you gotta tip them of you enjoyed!!

As we were in Berlin for a bachelor weekend, we were looking for the ideal way to explore the city and still have fun without booking a boring tour. I can definitely say this was exactly what we were looking for! Without spilling too much, I can say my jaw still hurts from laughing. We really appreciated that the guide really went the full length to make sure we had the best time (and made fun of the bachelor the whole time). But the most we liked the fact that the guide was just behaving like one of us, joining with all the drinks. Special thanks to Cole for being such a cool tour guide + to Kai for all the clear communication & arrangements before the tour. I would 1.000% recommend!

Interesting and engaging. Tour overan slightly because we got so much fun information. Also post tour advice on trips museums and restaurants to visit. Trip was enjoyable even though obviously some points of Berlin's history arent fun and Kai related to all the age groups represented Would definitely recommend this tour 100% More detailed review on trip advisor

My tour in Berlin was done by Cole - the Ohio guy with his rainbow walking stick… He was hilarious and hard to tell if he was being serious or joking… that’s the whole point of this specific tour, isn’t it? I truly enjoyed his tour and commentary… He was super quick with his answer - witty level 10 - and very knowledgable. Highly recommended. This is the best tour ever.

Finally a cool tour!!! 🤟 The tour that you absolutely need if you get bored to classic tours and if you love humour, truth and unpretentious vibes. Informative, enjoyable and funny. Nichole was great, kinda like a stand up comedian being a tour guide in Berlin. Thank you

We did the free walking tour in Berlin, yesterday. Cole is an amazing guide and we had a blast. Aside from casually insulting you from time to time and giving you the middle finger, he is very knowledgeable about the city, not only from a historical point of view. He’s very passionate about his job, and it shows. Would definitely recommend.

This ruined normal tours for me. A very atypical and informal tour yet very informative and fun. Nicole is the best tourguide ever, she made us laugh the whole time. She even let us drink beer

  • 5/5 Jack M. 7 months ago on Google
Fantastic experience! Cole ("the chunky Yank") was brilliantly funny and full of a wealth of information, making for a fun - but definitely rude! - tour. Wholeheartedly recommend this to anyone who's not afraid of four letter words and off-colour jokes, and wants to get to know Berlin a little better!

  • 5/5 Sue M. 7 months ago on Google
Had a fun & informative tour with Cole yesterday. As well as giving us the lowdown on the sights and history, he was very happy to give recommendations on what to do in Berlin after the tour. Well worth it.

Dennis gave us a great overview of Stuttgart. He told us a lot of historical facts and interesting stories. He made recommendations for view points, museums, restaurants and more. I enjoyed the tour a lot and would recommend it.

Absolute best decision I made! Kai was incredible, his personality and humor made this experience unforgettable. I will never forget Kai’s energy and how he made a point to talk with each person. There is a lot of walking but for the amount of history we learned it was perfect. 100% would recommend!

One is the best walking tours I’ve ever done! Steve had great stories to really capture the spirit of Cologne. I would plan for closer to three hours for your tour.

I did the tour today with Jack (or Jacq) from new York and she was great! It was a really funny tour, really recommended!

  • 5/5 Shekhar M. 2 years ago on Google
If I could leave 6 stars I would. Kai was so accommodating and informative. And most importantly, ENTERTAINING. What was supposed to be a 3 hour tour from 4-7 ended up being almost 4 hours in part because we kept on chatting the whole time, sharing stories, and such. It was tremendously educational, fun, and worth my while. Also, it is the only walking tour in the evening, which I highly suggest because crowds are much less. Wonderful tour, wouldn’t hesitate to do it here or in any other city. And yes, be prepared for your tour guide to talk to you as your friends would. Thanks again!

I've been travelling Europe for a while now and done walking tours in every city but this was by far the best. Key information given, enthusiastic guide and I laughed out loud. Does what is says on the tin, it is not a politically correct tour but if that's okay with you then you will love it. Thanks for a great day Kai!

Jack did a great tour for our big group in Europe for a bachelor party. Funny and informative while keeping it moving and interesting.

  • 5/5 Zaz 2 years ago on Google
This experience was one of a kind. The good energy, full knowledge and, of course, great jokes make three hours fly by. Our tour started in daylight but ended in the evening. It is wonderful how the "quietness" of the city at night makes it a magical experience. The beautiful illuminated buildings and the quietness around us while being entertained with good stories made a special experience.

  • 5/5 Sam T. 2 years ago on Google
The best history lesson I’ve ever received! Our tour guide, Cole, is awesome. He could go on at length about each part of the tour and it was apparent he has dedicated a lot of time to learning the history himself. He joked with every member of the tour and prompted questions from everyone throughout, making the tour completely interactive. I went to the tour with some reservation about meeting group of random strangers on the street. But by the time the tour ended we were all talking as friends. Can’t recommend this experience enough!

Kale, the funny dude from Ohio, is a high energy & funny guy. He's very rude and polite at the same time. He does great crowdwork and you could tell that he really has passion for this job. His enthusiasm is contagious. Great work!

This is a more casual way to tour the city but still offers excellent information. Kai was very enjoyable and provided lots of laughs while also being a very good guide. Crack a beer as you go and enjoy it, would definitely recommend!

Natalia was great! We did the English tour at 1PM on Saturday, and she was very knowledgable and awesome at navigating the group through the crowds. She was funny and remembered everyone's name who made a reservation too, which was a nice personable touch. Would recommend to anyone coming into Koln!

  • 5/5 Kaitlin M. 1 year ago on Google
Great tour! Hit tons of sites and got great history with some laughs as well. Was quite long! Wear comfortable shoes. Also got excellent recommendations of other things to do in the city! Arthur was our guide and although my friend described him as “the villain from diehard” he was a lot of fun and a fantastic guide!

  • 5/5 Sky Q. 1 year ago on Google
This tour was amazing! Not only did we get to learn a lot about Berlin, but Kai our tour guide was incredible, charismatic, and simply fantastic at telling us the city’s history. He kept us entertained and put a fun twist on things while keeping it historically accurate. I would recommend anyone who is looking for a tour to take this one. We loved it!

  • 5/5 Ritansha P. 1 year ago on Google
Cole was a fantastic guide. He wasn’t only funny and great company as you’d expect from a tour like this but also incredibly knowledgeable and nice. He was patient and answered all our questions and even took us to a couple of stops that weren’t initially part of his itinerary but he included since we seemed interested in them. This is definitely the best “free walking tour” I’ve been on across Europe.

Louie was our tour guide on the trip today. He was energetic, not too quick, and very knowledgeable around everything and anything we needed to know. Of course had the great funny jokes for the tour as well. I could not think of a more comfortable tour to take in Berlin than this one. Biggest thing for me with tours is I do not want to feel pushed along and Louie for sure took care of that and made it feel like we were just having a friend who knows everything about Berlin walk us around town and it was awesome! Will recommended this tour to anyone looking for a hidden gem tour of Berlin and I will have to see if they can request Louie because he made the tour rock!

  • 5/5 Lesley R. 1 year ago on Google
What an excellent and engaging tour with Kai today! He managed to shine a spotlight on aspects of Berlin we'd have otherwise missed out on. Huge enthusiasm and highly entertaining. If you are thinking of booking a walking tour, this is the one!

  • 5/5 Emily G. 1 year ago on Google
Such a good tour done by Louis! It was really interesting, the tour guide had very good historical knowledge and was very funny! I would definitely recommend it, you get to see all the main sights and learn there history in only a few hours.

Me and my friend decided to book this as we thought we needed a tour of course. We had Kai as our guide and it was the best decision we made! He was hilarious, informative and so welcoming throughout the tour. I’ve learned so much, saw so much and the 4 hour tour didn’t even feel like it was 4 hours. I would heavily recommend for everyone to book and do this! Best way to explore Berlin, learn and have a great time. Thank you Kai for giving us a great tour and can’t wait to do it again if I’m back in Berlin ☺️ Ps tip him well!

Had an amazing tour with Kai. The 3.5hrs flew by. This was my second time in Berlin, so I'd already seen the majority of sights we visited. But I still learned so much. Kai was fantastic he had so much knowledge which he shared with enthusiasm and passion. If you're in Berlin I'd 100% recommend this tour.

  • 5/5 Jim S. 1 year ago on Google
The highlight of our trip to Berlin. This was so much fun a and informative. We covered all of the highlights in 4 hours, and our guide had us smiling all day. I took my 4 sons, ages 16-24, and they loved every second!

Our walking tour with Sofia was excellent! She was very knowledgeable and funny as well! 10/10 would recommend

  • 5/5 Sanne 1 year ago on Google
We had so much fun doing this tour. Our tour guide Kai was really funny but also very well informed about the history of the sites we visited. If you're looking for a tour in which you learn about the history of Berlin in a fun way this is where you should go to! Kai was also very kind and willing to answer any question you had in mind about Berlin. All in all, I would definitely recommend.

😠 Artificial, rehearsed. The guide was utterly boring, self centred and rehearsed. Also a bit discriminate. I walked out 15 mins in the tour cause I felt offended.

👍👍 Highly highly recommend doing this bike tour when you first arrive in Berlin! We were overwhelmed with how much there is to do, but the bike tour gave us a good overview of alot of the history and culture and from there we could go back and visit more specific things we wanted. Sam was a great guide...
