Went there on the 3rd July with friends. Had the worst experience ever. We were 8 of us and all of us ordered "Chicken burger with cheese". All of us. But to our surprise, NONE of our order came out correctly. Yeah, NONE. By the time they came back, the food was served cold. When we decided to pay. When I asked for my change back, the waiter lectures me about not giving any tips. After a huge argument that he started, he used abusive language with me and threatened me to fight him. The experience was so horrible that I was crushed. I suggest you to never go there at all.

Pros. + English menus and english speaking staff + Atmosphere + A good place to relax with friends and watch sports Cons. - A bit expensive in comparison to quality and taste - Burgers are okay but nothing memorable or special A average burger place, that had good environment with sports events but food itself is forgetable considering its price point.

Beautiful sport cafe , good food and excellent place to watch sports matches, with amazing crowd and vibes around. The place is of cool setup with a bar in the middle and seating inside and outdoors. Very friendly staff servicing here. We tried the marathon sharing platter, which was super delicious and a complete meal. Burgers are very good as well. Toilets are super clean , I really like the place.

A big sports bar where you can enjoy american dishes. Portions are big and tasty. My favorite was mac and cheese. Cocktails and shots were good.

It took 70 minutes for the food to arrive, and it wasn't even that food. Food is decent (vegeterian options aren't good, but apparently the ribs were good) but is it really worth it? Only go if you aren't hungry

The food was very average. The chicken wings were quite good, the burgers were quite poor, the fries were awful. But worst of all, the service was atrocious. We were ignored for quite some time when waiting to order and after a member of our party went and found a member of staff, the staff member was very rude, snapping that he was coming to get our order.

Wir waren gestern zum ersten Mal im Joe Champs und fanden es ziemlich cool. Überall hängen Fernseher und im Herzen des Restaurants ist eine riesige Leinwand auf der Sportübertragungen laufen. Alles was das Herz begehrt. Die Getränke und das Essen waren gut. Preise völlig okay. Der Service war mittelmäßig. Bei einem Kellner kann man bestellen, ein anderer bringt nur die Getränke, der nächste ist nur fürs Abräumen zuständig... ziemlich verwirrend. Mal kam unsere Bestellungen super schnell, dann wurden Getränke vergessen oder die Wartezeit war ziemlich lang. Hier kann man auf jeden Fall nachbessern.

Food is decent but not a fan of ordering sides separately. Burger and chips should always come as a package deal. For watching sports with the lads though... can't think of anywhere better

Waiter super unfriendly and overpriced food. Don’t come here if you want to watch premier league games. They have a lot of screens but they will prioritise Bundesliga games over Premier League. We managed to get a TV where we could watch a premier league game but they kept on switching it to a Bundesliga game whilst there were numerous other TVs that were already playing Bundesliga matches.

Solid food, prices a bit high. But drinks are not what you ordered and you don’t get a bill just a total price and expect to give a tip on that. I find that rude. Also if I order a drink I expect to get that (very simple Jack Daniel’s cola) and not something else, and definitely not to convincing me that I got what I wanted. Will not visit again for sure

If the weather is too hot def seat outside otherwise you're gonna have a great time but you're gonna feel like in a sauna

Three different bartender asked for money three times !. Although I paid in the beginning. Besides they served a drink which I did not order and asked money for that. Very indecent and rude service personnel are working there.

We were a group and we ordered 4 pizzas and 3 bread stuffed with chicken. Oh, no comment. The pizza was amazing, and the bread stuffed with chicken was the same. It tasted great... We will come back again. Thank you.

We ordered champ burger, it was enough for one person. We couldn't even finish the large size french fries. Prices are a lil bit overpriced overall. Other than that it has a nice ambiance

Ein wirklich schönes Restaurant. Tolles Ambiente und sehr freundliche Mitarbeiter. Unsere Bestellung kam zügig und zeitgleich. Die Chicken Wings waren sehr sehr lecker. Super Marinade und saftiges Fleisch. Die Pizza war auch in Ordnung. Preis/Leistung ist absolut stimmig und nicht zu bemängeln. Wirklich empfehlenswert. Immer wieder gerne!

Am American style/influenced sports bar which straddles the line of being both a just a sports bar and a restaurant. I didn't have any food (hence no rating), but from what I saw, it did look pretty delicious. There were more than enough screens around the place to make sure that every table would be able to watch whatever game, or multiple games, were playing. Super friendly and attentive staff, spoke at least German and English and I would definitely go back again.

Seit Jahrzehnten immer wieder lecker und nett. Absolutes Highlight ist die neue Videowall. Zu Zeiten von Windows 95 war nämlich noch ein Beamer installiert. Weiter so!

Me and my friend got charged €12 euros for a vodka soda which is absolutely outrageous for Cologne. I’ve never paid that much for a vodka mixer in Germany anywhere.

Tolle Sportsbar - wie in den USA. Perfektes Ziel für alle, die gerne Sport schauen oder einfach nur lecker amerikanisch essen möchten. Lobenswert ist ebenso, dass man u.a. amerikanische Biere wie z.B. Bud Light auf der Karte findet. Die Preise sind dabei noch moderat.

Disappointed at the quality of food and customer service. We ordered spicy wings and waited 37minutes for them just for them to say they gave them to the table next to us and ours were on the way. They apologized to the table next to us and gave the table next to us another set of wings(we were still waiting for ours). When we received ours, they were the wrong order and cold. We asked for the spicy and they said, “here is tobasco sauce”. When we asked for a new wings dish that was the spicy we ordered(as in their menu), they took the cold ones from our table, and threw tobasco on top of it and returned it less than a minute later. Would not recommend for foreigners. Ended up having to eat our meals with remourse.

Ambience is nice but endorse the reviews made by others that the food arrives late and by the time you lose your hunger … For sure food is over priced for what they offer… Food taste is okay but not good …. No Go for me for next visit.

Waiters are always great and speak good English, some dishes come out cold for some reason like the chicken on the nachos felt it was microwaved. Overall a great place to watch football/basketball matches.

Amazing atmosphere however the food is below average Would recommend to come for a beer and watch a game

A spacious & modern sports bar on a corner site near Rudolfplatz tram stop. 25 mins walk from the city centre squares - Heumarkt & Altmarkt - but on tram routes and very handy for our accommodation nearby! Friendly & helpful staff and a decent menu of burgers and similar. Lots of TVs. There was football, F1 and basketball showing on the Sunday night we were in. Definitely recommend. 👍👍👍👍👍

We were absolutely amazed by the lovely bartender/waitress with curls and sleeve tattoo.Perfect english,attentive,sweet,funny and polite.The food was really good and good portions.We felt very welcomed and will be back,hopefully with the same service.

They could focus more on showing different sports in different corners. You have to ask sometimes to watch nfl but the place has American football decorations all over the place. It says online they show the game and then they only do it because you asked 3 times.

Avoid this place if your able to, spareribs drier than a bisquit and the burger your better off at mcdonalds. We got our milkshake near finishing our meals and it tasted like water, we got a new one tho which tasted better. 50 euros for 2 meals is an absolute ripoff, good tv tho.

Love going to this place since I really miss home (Chicago) and I have been here a couple of times. The food is good and almost makes me feel at home. Service can be a little better in a few things but over all they are all really nice. I think prices are fair and location is the best with all kinds of transportation very close by and close to everything.

Best sports bar. Nothing fancy about Joe Champs just a sport's bar done right. Didn't have food but plenty of tables, get in early mind it gets busy quickly on big sporting events. If you are drinking they have a few bar stools around the bar and tables dotted around. The bar it self has loads of TVs and one big one above the bar. Joe Champs is a must for a sporting event.

A star is more than the actual rating which is null. Rude staff. I just arrived at Cologne and came to watch a game but the place was full, so I asked them if they know any other place broadcasting the game and they just pushed me out without giving me an answer. "I don't know" is a sufficient answer for example.

Ok but not outstanding Burger. Good choice of beer. Except FC games all events were shown muted.

Very underwhelming experience, both gastronomically and in service. The place is cool, but sincerely nothing out of the ordinary.

Only place in the city to watch American sports. Went for the Penn State college football game, and upon asking the hostess he was able to set us up near a TV and find the game on FOX. Was pleased. Food was average, but I came for the game and wasn’t disappointed.

The minimum to pay by card is 10€, are we in 2022 or 2012? Having a minimum card payment is having a service at its minimum

Sorry to say this but like so many others have said. The food took a long time to arrive and when it did it was cold. My friends burger was raw and was also sent back.Staff where friendly enough and gave us 2 drinks for free but food this easy to make should at least come to your table hot and the chips crispy not a soggy mess like the ones served to us. Drinks are expensive for what they are. There are TV screens everywhere so no problem if you want to see a match. Enjoy the game and the atmosphere but think about eating somewhere else.

About as well as you'd expect. Food was tasty, but slightly cold. Steak was on point and tasty, but had been waiting to be delivered to the table for some time, as it was almost cold. Atmosphere is as expected, especially when the store is full as it was on my visit. Decent enough, not really bad.

Though watching the World Cup there was nice, the food was horrible. Two of our 4 orders were so bad (chicken burger and hamburger), they were unfinishable. Meat was “off”. Pizza was bland, “American Chili” had curry seasoning in it???? The large TV sound system had an annoying, continual popping sound. Staff were friendly and beer was good. Go to drink beer, not eat food.

Very bad place. Waiters are impolite and no hospitality. You have to order food so you spent a certain amount of money. My fork was dirty and the food is bad. They dont care about the experience or good care for their guests. It took around 45 min to bring nachos and microwave heated chili. :( Dont go.

Went here for a sit down meal, typical American Diner vibes so knew what to expect. It took an hour for my food to come out, a party of 6 came in after us and were still served before us, not sure if it was because they were Native and we were British or what, but it was a joke. Wouldn't recommend, food was mediocre and the waiting times were just ridiculous.

the energy there was amazing, a lot like a sport bar in actual america. the name says best wings and ribs, but i could say quite the opposite and even then we thought we’d come again just for the casual atmosphere and sports but then the server was pressuring us to give a bigger tip than we decided on, so that threw us off. lots to improve, could be a really good place

My wife and I spent the evening at the Xmas markets and noticed Joe Champs at the end of Rudolfplatz. Eager to watch a late evening Alabama college football game that was just starting, we walked over and asked if that would be possible. The manager was very accommodating and immediately put on the game on a couple of monitors. As the audience showed increasing interest, he put the game up on the big screen. I realize that it isn't always possible to do that, but the responsiveness of the manager deserves a lot of credit. Apart from that, Joe Champs (first time there) is a great sports bar with seating on two levels. We enjoyed a late dinner, and the food was really good. The value for money is excellent, as is the atmosphere. If you're into sports bars, we highly recommend Joe Champs.

Definitely a comfy bar, however there was no such thing as friendly staff and the price of a vodka lemon was 12 euro….. 12 euro in cologne is insane. Unfortunately don’t think I’ll ever be able to afford a trip back :(
