Amazing metal crossing bridge for both trains and people - access is easy and available from both sides. You can see both sides of the Rhine River very clearly. There's also a long section of locks along the fence.

The love lock bridge. So many locks on here it's so cool to walk and to see all of them and just the different varieties of them. Or if you wanna stick your own on you can. Also a very nice view of the Rhaen River while crossing. Take about 10-15 mins to walk the entirety of the bridge.

You have to come early if you want some nice shot because it’s always busy. As you can see in the videos there a lot of love locks 🔒 on the bridge. It’s quite difficult to find a spot but you should definitely try it and trough the key in the river . It means that your love will last forever. Number 2. tourist attraction in the city next to the Cathedral.

One of the most iconic bridge, not just in Cologne, probably in entire Germany. I travelled across many times via train, but walking along the pavements over Rhine is an experience to cherish. The locks locked in by lovers from across the globe is unreal, have to see and feel it to believe it, one can hardly find a slot to lock your lover for eternity. I guess i was too late! A memorable evening ☺️

An amazing place just inside the city. You can reach here by just 5 min walk from the train station. The bridge itself holds around half a million love padlocks and all together its an amazing view. I would highly recommend this place if you passing through cologne; Have a fun time counting the love locks:)

Super awesome. We walked on both sides, the padlocks westbound are basically full up. Incredible to see. Cathedral staring at you the whole way, just amazing.

Nice spot in the centre of Cologne. The bridge seems quite old but is sturdily built. The main attraction is, of course, the thousands of locks from people all over the world. The density of locks increases the closer you are to the Dom side of the bridge. The oldest lock I could find was from 1987, there definitely must be many more that are older for sure! It offers a nice view of the Cologne cathedral, St Martin's church and the Chocolate factory. All in all, it's a nice place to visit. I'll recommend going in the morning (hopefully it's less crowded then) as it was quite busy during the evening.

Monumental architecture, wonderfully designed and built. Paris style lock on walking lane. Great view of city and Rhein river. Great to attend sunset while seeing sun setting in horizons of iconic Dome.

Hohenzollern Bridge, located in Köln, is really lovely! The love padlocks are numerous, overwhelming the bridge's cables (in a beautiful way). Plus, the views of Kölner Dom are stunning from this space. This bridge is really convenient in that it makes for an easy crossing over the Rhine as you explore Cologne, Germany!

This bridge is one the most popular landmarks in Cologne. If Im completely honest it is a nice walk trough the river. Now if you are planning to have a nice photo there better fo early otherwose the Indianda and Chinese will overcrowd this place. It is also common to bring a lock amd put it on the bridge with your love one altough come on! Germany is not the most romantic place so to say 😆

If you are coming from the Cologne View (tower) this is a nice bridge to walk across. Locks are added the full length of the bridge. The foot and bike traffic across the bridge can get very busy. Its free - and you can take some nice photos.

It's a nice bridge, though I think better as part of the view than being walked across, if that makes sense. The love locks are numerous, like most other bridges in Europe. I'd personally recommend going across the next bridge further to the south so you can get the view of this one!

The view from whichever location you are at when you are here is awesome. The beauty that is emanating out really takes time for your mind to register.

An iconic landmark that must be visited when traveling to Cologne. The skyline of the city with the bridge and the cathedral is simply amazing and breathtaking. It is recommended to walk on the bridge, walk by the river and just soak up the atmosphere and calmness of the place.

Never seen so many locks concentrated in the same place. How much will they have costed all together? 1/2 million euro? A bridge that even before of lovers makes the happiness of companies that produce padlocks.

Such a fascinating bridge. There's padlocks everywhere! It's a really nice experience to behold. The views off the bridge aren't shabby either!

Definitely the coolest bridge in Cologne. Apparently you’ll see around 1200 trains crossing the bridge in a day - if you don’t have anything better to do.

Nice bridge. If you cross it you can see a building where you can go to the top. You have to be careful while crossing it. A lot of people in bikes or scooters. And they usually don't have patience...

There were so many locks! It was very nice to see all the locks and the dates on them. It also has a great view. It was a little crowded and noisy when we went but definitely worth a visit.

    Love lock Bridge!

  • 5/5 David S. 3 years ago on Google
This is the most central bridge of Cologne. The right side (less so the left side) of the bridge, while walking towards the Old Town, is covered in "lovers' locks", in common with some other bridges round the world. Fine if you're into that sort of thing. I was more impressed by the "Victorian" period architecture of the bridge and the gorgeous views of the Rhine.

It's one of the most beautiful cities I have seen so far. History lovers would love it.

  • 5/5 Dhrithi M. 2 years ago on Google
The walk across the bridge is very refreshing and thrilling. As you stand on it and view the city, that's when you realize how huge Cologne really is. And the beauty of the city can be seen clearly from above when you're on the bridge. The barrier of the bridge is a piece of art created by tourists and locals. The number of locks sealed onto it by couples from all over the world is unbelievable. I personally enjoyed walking through it and getting to know it's history. If you are in Germany as a tourist, then Cologne should be on your to go list.

An architectural master piece. Best way to cross the rhein River by foot. You can see a vast area of the cologne city from here. This is also known as the love Bridge as the lovers lock their love padlocks here and throw the key in to the Rhein River. The cruise Dock is also nearby and this is an ideal place to visit in sunset.

Beautiful bridge with lovely views of the city along the river. Covered in love locks which is also pretty cool! Popular walking/biking path to get from one side of the river to the other. We stayed on the far side of the river and used this to go into the city each day while we visited

Iconic railway bridge over the Rhine, destroyed during WW2, and reconstructed. The bridge is famous for the countless number of lovelocks attached to the fence. Just amazing.

Bridge with millions of love locks. This is the railway bridge in left side of cologne cathedral. You can walk on the bridge and can lock your love lock on the bridge walls.

The 400 meter bridge got its name as “ Love Lock Bridge” because of the huge number of padlocks, with engraved initials of couples, who want to proclaim their love and affection by attaching a lock to the bridge. The traditional of attaching a lock to this bridge started in 2008 and quickly attracted couples from all over the world to do so. It was reported that in 2012 there were over 40,000 locks to be attached to the bridge. I could not find the latest number of how many locks were attached to this bridge. The oldest date marked on the locks that I could find is dated in 1953. But officials constantly remove some of the locks for safety reasons. Crossing the bridge provides beautiful view on the both sides of the city. It’s a must do when in Cologne.

A lovely walk, views above the river and the city. And on top of that this bridge is covered in thousands of love locks - vendors near the bridge sell locks you can add yourself.

😠 How can it be that the renovation is taking so long? In China they would have finished this two years ago. Why can't our oh-so-modern Germany manage this?

🫤 One of the few bridges in Cologne. There is always a lot of traffic here. Unfortunately, the cycle paths on both sides are extremely bumpy (see photo). Unfortunately, I've slipped a few times as a result. Otherwise, I would like to see a guard rail for cyclists and pedestrians to feel safer. Otherwi...
