On a brief stopover during a river cruise in Koln [Cologne], we were determined to find some Merci chocolates. With a lifetime of experience in Germany, we headed for Kaufhof where we found a huge selection of chocs. Bought the largest box possible + a couple of smaller [more sensible boxes] & enjoyed a coffee & cake in the cafe. Miss living in Germany. Kaufhof was always top of the list for most things & has to be up there with the better dept stores. Not haute couture [like us!], but quality nevertheless.

Lovely department store with anything you can ask for. It is still one of my favorite things to do when in Germany as it reminds me of the pre-mall days back home. Only knocking one star off as I wish they had better signage to guide you to different departments.

I was looking for a travel bag. I didn't find it but I very much enjoyed having a leisurely look around. The staff were very friendly and not at all pushy. I liked that!

Oh my Good God, It’s summer/ hot my daughter went into this Galeria Kaufhof Neumarkt wir her Kelvin klein bra & jacket . No tshirt on ( girls trendy nowadays) guess what When my daughter was coming out of the store one of the watchman followed her & said the Calvin Klein bra she had on was from the store. Mmm , the bra have no label because it was 2 weeks old, can you imagine! The stupid security guy took my daughters phone to call me to confirm whether I bought the bra for my daughter . Is this normal? Galeria Kaufhof Neumarkt! Shame on the security men & women working for you. My daughter was searched all over a 13 old girl . you dark skinned monster employed at GAleria You thought my daughter is a thief ? I am coming on saturday with her, I am going to expose you shameless man. I have always shopped at Galeria without problem

I had a very bad experience at the store yesterday. I bought 136 euros last month. Yesterday, I came again with my friend and shopped there. Again, the security guard stopped us and told us to go to their office, but six people went to the office with us and they started search our bag and my child's goods without permission and they were not even wearing gloves. But they spoke rudely to us. I will never come back to store agin. Our children from yesterday crying .

We love the food in the Galeria resto.. this is our 3rd visit during the stay in the city.

Toy department is really nice. Restaurant was pretty bad. Schnitzel was inedible, there went 25 euros.

A lot of delicious meat(and some fish), freshly baked. Also lots of nice salades to be found here. Quick service and a very comfortable environment. Prices are good and not too expensive. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Complete department store. Clothes, cosmetics, glasses and home utensils.

Staff arguing loudly with each other about workload and responsibilities near the main counter. No one manning a jewellery section for a long time, and there was no cross-cover, despite me asking 4 different staff for help. Not impressed. Customer care seems optional here. Yes, I am a native speaker. That was not the issue.

Staff incredibly rude to non-german speakers. Not willing to help and very arrogant. Further, no announcement is given that the shop will close after which staff is continuously screaming that you have to leave instead of simply asking or helping.

This is a large departments store and also has a great restaurant. We went for the restaurant to have some lunch there as it's always great quality and of course has a good price. So if you don't want to take chances with food, go there and have lunch or dinner, get some cake and coffee and go from there. The only thing you should know, as in all German restaurants, they don't have free refills, this is just an American thing and not a German thing.

Too big and crowded for shopping. Also there is nit enough salesclark over there. If you want to try on something you have to wait for a long time

Nice department store, you can find several articles for home, and clothing of several well known brands, i like that there are seats to rest after going around.

If you miss this 'historic' shopping center in this area, you pretty much have not visited Cologne 😃

Great Department store. A lot of 1st floor had very large Christmas display, ornaments, gifts etc. Only visited last wk for Christmas.

I only visited the grocery department in the basement to buy some specialty Swiss and French cheeses. The cheese and wine departments are very well stocked, and the store associates are quite helpful. Now (May 2023), their available merchandise seems to be less than in previous years. Items one used to be able to buy there are no longer available. I visited the restaurant, but it's actually a self-service food station, though the food choices were pretty good and decently priced.

I purchased a sneaker and a sandale from Galeria onlen shop. They sent me the Sandale in wrong size. I sent them an email and they apologized and asked me to return the Sandale and look for a new one. At the same time, i bought a sneaker, and then they sent me again a wrong size. I returned it in Galeria Köln and the staff in the shop said they are not responsible for customer care! They can only send it back. I wrote an email and told them this is the second time. They apologized again and said please try again and if the price has been changed, we would compensate the difference. I purchased again the same sneaker in size 37.5 and they again sent me size 40!!!!! I told them this was a gift for my sister and I couldn’t not only give her the gift ontime, her favorite sneaker in 37.5 was not available anymore. They again apologized with an email. Now i understand why servicewüste is famous in Germany!
