Goods:The room and bathroom was clean and hygienic. There was proper lighting in the room and bath room. The staff is very helpful. There are lots of eateries close to this so you can order or buy your other meals from there. Bad:Repetitive breakfast. There are no foot mats in the bathroom. Also dustbins should have bin liners. Overall I found it tad bit over priced considering the facilities I got here.

I stayed here for a few days with my family - my parents, my husband and my dog. I had booked 2 rooms ~ "Ace" and "Spade" at Yellow Bricks. Spade has an attached washroom and a small kitchennette with RO water filter and induction cooker and a small open-to-air sitout. Ace has only an attached washroom. The good parts : Booking Management : The booking coordination and speed of response was superb. It is managed by Rupesh Da. It was extremely smooth and well managed. Here I must mention that Rupesh Da also went out of his way to help find a place for my mom and me for a couple of days when Yellowbricks was fully booked and we had literally no where to go! Rooms and Food : The rooms are exactly as shown in the pictures. The place is aesthetically done up and kept clean.Breakfast is complimentary (egg and bread in different forms on different days) and lunch / dinner can be cooked on request. We recommend the Shukto and Rui Kalia cooked by Munna Da. The fish pieces were huge and the food was lipsmacking. Location :It is situated in a lane right next to the Ballygunge Phari auto stand so you can book Uber and Ola easily and you can also easily hail or get autorickshaw drops. There is a Balram Mullick outlet at stone's throw from the property to satiate all your sweet tooth cravings. Don't miss to have their baked rossogollas! Gariahat market is also nearby. A share auto will take Rs 10 per person (as on date) to take you from Ballygunge Phari auto stand to Gariahat Pet-friendly : The place is pet friendly. Your pupper can stay with you ! That was surely the best part of the deal! The not so good parts. 1) The entrance to the Spade room is quite low and one has to duck their head to protect their heads from hitting the solid-wood door frame. As guests, we are not in the habit to duck our heads and there is no warning signage put around. So my dad, my husband and I banged our heads several times. My husband also injured his head (with blood oozing from his head) on one occassion when he forgot to duck. Something needs to be done about it. 2) Although the location is great on google maps, the last leg of the journey ( 5-7 min walk ) is a one-lane road. So if a vehicle has entered from one end of the road, no other vehicle has space to enter the lane from the other end. Also cab drivers are skeptical to take their cabs through the narrow lane even if you let them know that they can easily turn around and go back to the main road. As a result, if you have lots of luggage with you (like we did), you will need to lug them through that lane in order to reach the property. As this is a bread and breakfast, we understood that we would have to manage our luggage on our own so we did not ask for help. But it surely was inconvenient. But all said and done, I liked the property, the food and our stay at Yellowbricks.

Neat and clean. Very comfortable. Breakfast free, there are few good books/magazines which you can read in any time. Roof is also very well decorated.Very clean bathrooms. It was actually a home which they transferred into a well serviced guest house. This is place is very quiet. You may find it difficult to search this place. It is not exactly on the main road. From Auto stand go through Google map. Hope these information will help you!

The beautiful interior and the quality of the rooms rivals most 5-star hotels while maintaining a cozy, homely atmosphere. The owner goes out of his way to make you feel welcome: waited for us even though we arrived very late, gives instructions to drivers, personally prepares a delicious breakfast (even went out shopping to get some vegan options). Highly recommended!

This is my second time staying at Yellowbrick and it was even better this time, as I encouraged my friends to stay along with me! Everyone LOVED it! The decor, hospitality, cleanliness, ease and comfort! This BnB has a unique charm and gravitational pull! It is tucked away… but in a perfect way. Away from the busy street but still in a real part of Kolkata. Each room has its own personality and the terrace is such a pretty place to chill during the nights. Even the complimentary breakfast is delicious and catered to your fancies. We also got to have nice conversations with other guests in the common areas. The owner and its staff made sure that our stay was a wonderful and memorable one! We will definitely choose this place every time we visit! Many thanks and much love to Yellowbrick! See you next time!

The rooms were very clean. The common room and kitchen also seemed clean and well stocked. The location for me was good as I was traveling solo and had packed light, but the approach road is narrow so those with vehicles may have problems. In the room everything was available, having a electric kettle and some tea bags would have made the experience even awesome. Overall, a nice place to stay right in the heart of kolkata if you want to explore while staying in the middle of the city. Would definitely like to visit next time.

Beautiful, quiet place very well located in Kolkata. Munnabhaj was super fun to hang out with, very kind and cheerful person. You must try his egg breakfast, too good! Overall, one of the best home stays I’ve stayed at in a while. Hygienic rooms, spacious bathrooms, and very well located.

You may think this is a paid review. But it's not, it is quite genuine. This is one of the best homestays here in Kolkata. 1. Location: It's situated in a location you may find most convenient to travel anywhere in Kolkata. You will easily tuk-tuks, taxis, and local buses to travel around the city. 2. Service: Their service is quite excellent. The staff members are friendly and hospitable. 3. Cleanliness: The whole facility is superbly neat and clean. They provide you with clean bedsheets as well as, towels. 4. Ambience: If you are looking for a vintage Kolkata vibe, this is the place for you. Everything from the architecture of the building to the decoration of the room will give you classical vibes.

Had a pleasant stay with my family for almost a week. Food prepared by Munna da was awesome. Also, Sunil da and Shyam da were always available to help us and made sure our stay was comfortable. The property is very well maintained and I highly recommend this place to everyone who is looking for a safe and homely stay in Kolkata.

From the moment we stepped into the Yellowbrick 5/4 Hostel in Kolkata, it felt like entering a home. The ambiance exudes a sense of belonging and comfort, thanks in large part to Manager Munna's exceptional hospitality. Munna's personal approach to hosting is unparalleled. He greets each guest with genuine warmth, making sure everyone feels not just accommodated, but truly cared for. His attention to detail, from remembering personal preferences to offering tailored advice on exploring Kolkata, adds a special touch to the stay. What truly sets Yellowbrick 5/4 apart is the sense of community Munna fosters among guests. He often organizes small gatherings or informal chats, making it easy to connect with fellow travelers. This personal, warm, and familiar approach makes the hostel not just a place to stay, but a memorable part of the Kolkata experience.

Tucked away from the busy main road in Ballygunge and inside a peaceful neighbourhood, Yellowbrick is indeed a refreshing experience (we loved the interiors). Starting from the booking till the end of our stay it was like staying at home away from home! The entire team (Rupesh who enabled the booking and stay, Munna who was ever present for any need and with his culinary skills for our meals, and the rest of the team for lending support when needed) deserves all credit for making our stay memorable. Highly recommend for an ideal stay option in Kolkata.

Beautiful homestay for an exceptional Kolkata experience Right in the heart of the city, and close to attractions like Birla Mandir and Gariahat Market, but nicely situated in a quiet alley, this completey refurbished house is a peaceful haven, that really makes you feel at home, at once. We stayed for two weeks, and loved the bright and spacious rooms which were all equiped with modern and clean bathrooms. We also very much enjoyed to relax on the beautiful rooftop terrace and to meet some of the other guests over beeakfast in the common kitchen and living room area. Munna and his team did a great job and were very kind and helpful whenever we needed them. Regular meals, as well as special request breakfasts and dinners they prepared for were just excellent! Possibility to use the washing machine and drying area, as well as to iron your clothes. Great experience, highly recommended!

Neat and clean place to stay in the heart of South Kolkata. Excellent breakfast. Munna went out of his way to ensure comfortable stay during the 3 days we stayed in Oct'22. He is a very good cook & prepared b'fast for us. Highly recommend this BnB in South Kolkata

Located in a prime area, this Airbnb was everything we could have asked for. The rooms are well lit and well maintained, the washrooms are in excellent condition. The caretaker, Munna, was extremely hospitable and accommodating. Mr Rupesh, the owner and manager of the property also equally helpful and available on text and/or call. This is undoubtedly one of the best stays Kolkata has to offer!

Centrally located in the heart of the city. Very comfortable stay and courteous staff. The caretaker Dixon is a real character and took a lot of pains to take care of us. Fully equipped kitchen and refrigerator for doing any cooking. Amazing sun-room for sitting and working. Literally never left the property for 7 days as it was so well done and comfortable. I went there with my partner and we found our happy place at 5/4

We had a superb stay at 5/4 Yellowbrick. Our only regret was that it was very short. We were in Calcutta en route to Vietnam, and only spent one evening and the following day there. But even in that time, we were made to feel very welcome. Munna and Sunil at the property looked after our every need. The rooms were excellent, with great atmosphere.

Such a delightful experience staying here. Being located a little away from the roadside protects you from the bustling noises of the vibrant Neighborhood. From the interiors to the food to hospitality gives you a sense of comfort like you are at home. The furnishing, painting and interiors are very deliberately charming. If you choose to stay here you would be welcomed by the gregarious host - Munna Dada (“ Dada” a suffix that carries lot of respect when addresses each other among locals here). He was extremely accommodating to all our needs and went to many lengths to ensure the entire journey from Check-in to Check-out is seamless and stress free. Its no secret that Munna Dada is also an excellent Chef so during your stay I would highly recommend you to try his meals that he custom makes as per your palette and appetite. I want to also thank Rupesh who overlooks the entire premises and made certain that any requirement or information was communicated clearly and quickly leaving nothing to second guessing. Without a doubt, I see us coming back here during our next visit to Kolkata :)

One of the main reasons I booked this homestay was because the reviews and the description mentioned clean place. The description of the place is accurate in terms of the cleanliness, of the room and more specifically bathroom. While finding place for first time is bit tricky but it isn't inaccessible, more specifically it is located on one of landmark places of Kolkata so I wouldn't say it is bad. Apart from the tastefully designed rooms, the common room on 1st floor is much better with its decor and space setting. Good Wi-fi connection in rooms too. Breakfast was included and I was very surprised at the taste and presentation of breakfast cooked by Mr. Anupam Chatterjee (Munna) who is resident caretaker and chef. He has more than two decades of experience in large kitchens so his food cooking was excellent. His communications skills are great so makes for a good conversations as well. I would recommend this place who want a centrally located place with access to Park Street or South Kolkata (Gariahat etc).

Great location, within the city, calm and peaceful environment. Rooms are very spacious, nicely decorated and clean. All the staffs are well trained, well behaved and helpful. Mr. Munna is a professional chef who take care of your all needs, he is managing from front desk to kitchen. Mr. Munna made very delicious food throughout our stay, each one of the dishes was very Homely. I felt like I am staying in my home. Will visit again to this beautiful property. One Suggestion: I felt the RO drinking Water is slightly hard in this place, please check the hardness or else provide packaged drinking water.

I stayed with my sister here only for a day. Though it was just a day, the experience was so good that we are planning to return soon. We had a bad experience in our previous hotel and we came here without booking, and we were welcome here in such short notice. The facilities provided for the cost is reasonable and the cook here is very good. They try their best to make us comfortable and it is extremely nice!

Booked it for one day and ended up extending it for another 3 days. The staff was very helpful. The rooms were clean with spacious washrooms. The location was also central and made it convenient for city tours. Even allowed us for a late checkout. In all it was a great experience and would definitely recommend to everyone.

Located in the heart of the city, yet such a calm and cozy abode. Rooms are clean and naturally lit. They have common space which has a very cozy set up. Terrace is gorgeous, good space for people who want to chill during the night. The staff is friendly and 24/7 available at your service. Overall very homely and wholesome experience. Definitely, staying here for my next trip to Kolkata. :)

Clean rooms and common spaces, excellent service and food - they made good breakfast and chai everyday. The terrace area is lovely to sit in and they have a nice dinning area as well. The caretaker is friendly and really takes care of the guests, had such a wonderful stay here!

Perfect place to stay if you want to have a true Kolkata experience. It is located on a very narrow lane and you might need to carry your luggage from the main road but it adds to the experience and the staff is very helpful too. The rooms and bathrooms are nice and airy. The omelette which we had for breakfast was super delicious. The living cum dining room is a cool spot to hang out too. Definitely recommend this place for travellers.
