Public
beach
access
here
is
confusing
to
say
the
least.
Let
me
start
with
the
guard
shack.
We
were
first
asked
by
a
local
lady
where
we
were
going.
My
husband
driving
said,
"the
beach!"
with
a
smile
on
his
face.
She
replied"
"what
for?"
I
then
ask
her,
"isn't
it
a
public
beach?"
She
gave
me
an
attitude
&
said,
"well
yes
but
it's
owned
by
Military
&
on
private
property".
Hmmm...
I
tell
her
that
my
husband
is
active
duty
military
&
we'd
like
to
visit
the
PUBLIC
BEACH.
She
asks
for
our
paperwork
on
our
vehicle-
license,
registration
&
proof
in
insurance
as
if
we
are
being
pulled
over
by
a
police
officer!
Then
she
says,
"
you
still
need
to
fill
out
paperwork
BEFORE
WE
LET
YOU
IN.
So
we
roll
up
to
the
next
lady.
I
asked
her
a
hand
full
of
questions
to
gain
more
info.
At
first
she
was
very
defensive
until
I
explained
that
I'm
taking
pics
&
gathering
info
to
post
a
google
review.
All
of
a
sudden
her
demeanor
changed
completely.
Definitely
more
pleasant
than
the
first
lady,
she
gave
us
directions
to
the
visitors
parking,
issued
us
a
pass
&
marked
us
at
stall
#15.
Ok-
so
we
drive!
We
notice
the
first
main
access
beach
is
labeled
as
cove
5.
It
clearly
states
on
the
sign
that
is
the
ONLY
pet
friendly
lagoon.
We
noticed
there
were
tons
of
up
front
stalls
EMPTY
marked
as
RESERVED
FOR
RESIDENTS
&
THEIR
GUESTS.
Ok-
keep
going.....
Lovely
beaches,
nice
facilities,
volleyball
nets
on
2
different
coves...
More
cabanas....
This
place
is
GREAT....
WAIT!
Where
is
the
public
parking????
Keep
going
pass
residential
homes
on
the
beach
then
all
the
way
at
the
end
there
is
a
grassy,
bush
filled
lot
with
about
30
stalls
marked
for
visitors!
But
she
gave
us
a
visitors
pass
for
stall
15....
1-
10
are
empty...
About
3
cars
&
we
have
to
park
all
the
way
in
15????
Why
not
1
or
2
or
10????
Weird!
We
had
our
pup
&
realized
that
the
only
dog
friendly
beach
is
at
the
beginning
of
the
access
so
we'd
have
to
park
all
the
way
at
the
end
&
walk
for
about
10
min
back
to
lagoon
5
with
our
truck
far
away-
out
of
sight.
We
decided
to
drive
around
exploring
&
taking
pics
to
prepare
for
this
review
so
that
we
can
help
others
who
are
wondering,
just
like
we
were...
WHO
EXACTLY
OWNS
THIS
PUBLIC
BEACH?
Seems
that
Greystar
&
Kapilina
Beach
Homes
have
completely
taken
over
the
entire
Iroquois
Point
Beach
access.
Seems
to
me
that
they
try
to
make
it
as
inconvenient
as
they
possible
in
order
to
deter
visitors
from
wanting
to
visit
this
beach.
It
is
obviously
designed
for
the
convenience
of
their
residents
usage
EXCLUSIVELY.
Even
though
the
parking
was
open
everywhere,
they
make
sure
to
tell
you
at
the
gate
that
if
you
are
parked
anywhere
other
than
the
assigned
stall
they
can
ask
you
to
leave
or
tow
your
vehicle
at
our
expense.
INTERESTING!
So
you're
telling
me
that
my
active
duty
husband
can-NOT
park
at
the
main
lot
or
more
convenient
stalls
that
are
wide
open
all
accross
every
cove
because
HE
IS
NOT
A
PAYING
RESIDENT
OF
THIS
COMMUNITY!?
EVEN
Though
this
IS
ALSO
A
MILITARY
HOUSING
DEVELOPMENT!???
Which
is
partially
still
owned
by
the
Military!?
The
other
thing
that
really
gets
under
my
skin
is
that
we
have
gone
onto
military
facilities
accross
the
States
&
have
never
been
asked
to
provide
our
street
address,
proof
of
insurance
&
the
name
of
our
minor
in
the
vehicle
for
liability
purposes.
What
exactly
is
going
on
here!?
Who
owns
the
beach
&
why
does
the
security
at
the
gate
have
such
a
bad
attitude
when
guests
roll
up
&
ask
questions!?
We
are
trying
to
understand
why
they
are
requiring
us
to
provide
personal
info
on
a
waver
to
enter
onto
a
PUBLIC
BEACH!
There
is
definitely
something
fishy
going
on
here!
It's
a
gorgeous
beach
&
very
well
kept
BUT
I
do
believe
that
everyone
should
have
access
to
it
since
after
all,
IT
IS
OWNED
BY
THE
STATE,
NOT
GREYSTAR!
I've
attached
a
bunch
of
pics
&
google
map
quick
references
to
help
others
get
a
better
picture
of
what
to
expect.
I
will
try
this
beach
again
without
my
pup
so
we
can
check
out
the
entire
waterline
by
foot
next
time.
Hopefully
we
have
a
much
better
experience.
