Million dollar view of Honolulu and Mount Leahi (Diamond Head). Almost daily displays of rainbows at sunset, killer direct sunrise views too. Semi-private beach, must have current drivers license car registration to get through security Kapilina beach homes to get public beach access. Can be a lot of debris like sticks, thorns, coral washed up after south swell and from the mouth of Pearl Harbor. Water shoes are necessary if you have tender toes. We have a resident Hammerhead shark that is occasionally sighted in the Cove 2 and 1 area. If you smell fishy smell just get out of the water. The surf can get bigger in the summertime and we actually have a decent mostly uncrowded wave if you're not scared of encountering the resident carnivore.

I used to live here so it was a sweet opportunity to be able to get into the housing area. It is gated and requires id to get in. The housing is now public and available for rent. The beach is as I remembered it, but they've since added lounge chairs and raised huts that you can sit in. It was really a beautiful view of Diamond Head from the shoreline. You could also see Tripler Hospital.

'58,'59,'60,'61,my father, CDR,was stationed at Ford Island. Our house was right on the beach(Iroquois ave.) Every morning my bro.& I would run over a little sand dune out the back door & swim in the Pacific Ocean before school. The Royal Hawaiian hotel was the biggest building on Waikiki Beach.

Beautiful sheltered beach with views of the airport. Hardly anyone was there, our family enjoyed the beach with just one other family. It truly was paradise! FYI, you can only access this beach with someone who lives in the gated community.

It’s a straight coastline with crystal turquoise water and golden sand. The beach is suitable for different categories of people, lonely travelers, relaxation getaway lovers, and others. It’s not crowded at all.

A nice and secluded beach on old Navy housing property. The beach is public but the road into the housing complex is gated. If you are not a resident, you get pulled to the side and have to fill out paperwork. Not a big deal, but a small pain. Of note, the structures on the beach are strictly for residents only. Non-residents, use at your own risk. Also, the beach is right in final approach for Inouye Int'l Airport, so you get great views of areiving airplanes.

Really clean and beautiful beach We created an artificial lagoon so you can swim without worrying about waves. There are parasols and beach beds. However, since it is in a community with restricted access, when entering You must present your ID, driver's license, vehicle insurance card (rental contract), etc.

NOT A PUBLIC BEACH. Private Beach. They are β€œanti-visitors”,non-residents can only access the area by filling in a stack of paperwork. Wasted 1 hour of vacation driving to and from this place. The only negative experience of Hawaii in my life. Also there is nothing Hawaiian about this place, you could be in Orange County CA or suburban San Diego.

Absolutely lovely. My only complaints are that the sand hurts to walk on and the airport noise takes away from the ocean sounds. But the location is great and Food Truck Wednesday is awesome too

This beach is located on the West side of the island and gives you a nice view of the East side of the island. You can even watch the planes taking off and landing at Honolulu Airport. It was very windy when we went so that wasn't fun because you feel cold due to the wind. Also, the sand is very coarse and has sharp pebbles and branches so it's painful to walk on. I highly recommend wearing water shoes if you decide to visit here. And you need to have valid car registration to enter because it's located inside a gated community and they have security at the gate verifying you're not a homeless person trying to sneak in.

Nice beach if you can get in. It's part of the military homes. They have a food bar with great food and alcoholic drinks.

It's nice to have a couple private beaches here at Kapilina, but they are full off rocks. It is actually painful just trying to get far enough into the water to swim. Maybe beach shoes would help.

Awesome beach overlooking Pearl Harbor. But for private community only, and a bit windy, dien wind from Hickam Airbase & Honolulu Airport.
