This is the beach that the famous scene in "From Here To Eternity" was filmed and more recently "I know what you did last summer" the series was shot in this exact location! Halona Beach Cove is an absolutely stunning site and is a great place to take beautiful pictures. Conveniently close to Honolulu and plenty of parking, make this a massive tourist attraction. This cove also contains a unique blowhole that adventurous tourists can cautionly sneak down to and view all of its glory.

Fun, somewhat secluded beach. Don't leave valuables in car. Every time that I've been here, I see broken glass from smashed Windows. I personally never had a problem. My next visit was today October 8th 2019 there was a police car parked in the parking lot... hopefully that will stop the thieves

Technically, you're not supposed to go down to the beach area. It is a pretty easy walk down, but a little harder getting back up if there is an accident

This place has awesome waves and itโ€™s so cool to swim with a view of the blowhole spraying every few minutes dozens of feet up into the air! When itโ€™s calmer some people jump off the rocks into the crystal clear waters. The beach is very cute, small and protected from the road by high walls, so it feels a world away. Parking can be tough. There are no services.

Halona Blowhole lookout and Halona Beach Cove are a must-visit during your tour of Oahu. It is a short drive from Honolulu. You can access the cove by walking down a trail (flip flops are not ideal footwear) to get the the small beach at the bottom. The view is beautiful. People were there swimming. There are lots of little crabs on the rocks which are amusing to watch. There is a cave that goes all the way under the road to the other side. We went in for a bit but it gets very dark once you get in a good way. It is pretty from the outside but Iโ€™d avoid going in. It smells like urine in my opinion. Avoid the cave and youโ€™ll have a magical experience at this little cove. Wear good shoes and take tour flip flops for the beach. The beach sparkles like diamonds. Very beautiful.

One of my favorite places to go in Oahu. To the right of the lookout is the beach. Place is amazing on a calm water day. Small cliff on the right side you can jump in the water. To the left of the lookout is the lava tube small little walk to the lower part of the cove. Pretty easy access for some cool photos.

Unique beach cove with beautiful waves crashing into small swimming area and sandy places in which to relax. During the right season, whales can be seen breaching in the distance. Must climb down rocky path to access. Parking is difficult during busy times. Be sure to lock your car and leave nothing in view.

Small beach you can hangout at and enjoy the day. No restrooms and you can park at the tip from the lookout. You can also walk to the halona blowhole which is down below near the beach.

One of my favourite beaches here - it wasn't nearly as busy as Waikiki, but it did get busy during the weekend. We had to wait 15min to get a parking spot on Saturday, when there was no wait on Thursday. The waves are really fun, and some people were snorkeling, but there wasn't much to see except a few fish.

We explored around the cove on to the cliffs and the next beach over. Absolutely beautiful and worth the visit. Use caution with the big waves though, they can be fun but took me out for a tumble!

Halona Beach Cove is tiny, yet popular. A deep inlet in the jagged cliffs bring waves onto a cute sandy strip where people play in its unique surf. I recently watched young guys jumping into the pool of water timed with the waves. Looked like a lot of fun. My wife and I call it the "From Here to Eternity" beach based on a lusty scene with Debra Kerr and Burt Lancaster from the early 50's movie that filmed it there. Now everyone goes there.

Beautiful beach surrounded by rock cliffs. This is the beach used in the movie From Here to Eternity when Burt Lancaster and Deborah Kerr kiss as waves roll over them which is pictured on the movie poster.

I had THE MOST FUN HERE that I've had in years! ...Couldn't help myself but to act out my slap-stick version of rolling around on the beach in some romantic scene gone silly....solo version...slapstick.....cheeky.... homage to all of the great Comediennes of back in the day.... Laughed and enjoyed watching others crack up at my antics! Seriously, though, the ocean healed me a bit of the seriousness and heaviness of life. Mahalo. ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ The water was incredible! It was an experience of a lifetime! Bucket list item: โœ”.

Beautiful yet very small beach; it starts feeling like a Las Vegas pool party when there are 30-40 people here. Come here very early on the weekends or anytime during the week. If youโ€™re here during the week, you will likely have the beach to yourself or maybe one or two other visitors. Beautiful beach and you can definitely have the โ€œIโ€™ve-got-the-beach-all-to-myselfโ€ feel during the weekday. It has great potential for sunrise/ sunset pictures.

Cool secret beach that is a quick walk down from the overlook parking lot. Swimming can be quite treacherous when the surf is up and there's no lifeguards, but it is definitely worth the quick stop, especially away from the more crowded beaches in the area. There is also a small blowhole you can see if the waves are higher.

Between the Halona Blowhole parking lot, and the Japanese Fishing Shrine, lies the "From Here to Eternity Beach." Access to the beach is down a cliff from the Halona Blowhole parking lot.

The view from above is simply mesmerizing. Youll find the turquoise wavering water is strong. Behind you is a wall of mountain with the view of the highway and youll see the vehicles as they drive along. If youre brave enough and an experienced swimmer you can climb down the cove and go for a swim or simply dip in the water and have fun as the waves come in. Some people scale the cliffs which I dont recommend due to itโ€™s dangerous nature and possible damage to the rocks might incur.

(Translated by Google) It may be difficult to understand where to get off, but if you get down on the beach below, you have never met Japanese people. I think it is better to get off with sneakers because the place to get off is steep. The beach has a feeling of secret and can be made surprisingly slow. The wind was high and the waves were huge. This was a small but fantastic beach. Out of all the beaches we went to my kids say this was their favorite. While I enjoyed it I have to admit it was only my second favorite. It definitely deserves five stars, though.

(Translated by Google) Beautiful little cove in the eastern part of the island, famous for being where the kiss that Deborah Kerr and Burt Lancaster gave each other in 'From here to eternity' was rolled. The viewpoint from the parking lot is worth it, but you have to go down to the sand and take a walk through the volcanic rocks. The photos that are obtained are magnificent. We were here in May 2018. I loved this spot! You can see the blowout hole and also go down the small beach. Thereโ€™s also a cave/tunnel down there! Both times I went were kinda crowded but thereโ€™s always people playing music on their speaker so itโ€™s a nice vibe! This place was the only one where the water didnโ€™t burn my eyes after jumping๐Ÿซถ๐Ÿผ๐Ÿซถ๐Ÿผ the only reason I give it a 4/5 is because the sand is son thin so if itโ€™s really windy it goes everywhere!!! One time I couldnโ€™t lay down on my towel without being full of sand:(( Also saw a turtle!

Wonderful beach with some really interesting geography around it. We went when the waves were fairly flat but they can get fairly significant so be careful. There is a small beach and an small area with sad to enter the cove from but you need to be careful about rocks especially as the tides move you around.

Definitely put your flip-flops sandals or watershoes if youre planning on getting close to the blow hole, definitely one of the must stop places on the island, you get to see this and chill at cockroach cove on the same day! What a beautiful and fun beach! Not for the kids really, with higher waves, walk down from the road, and but much room to play, but a little retreat along the road. Go early before the crowds arrive. The lava tube is eerie and exploring the rock formations makes it exciting.

OUR FAVORITE BEACH!! So peaceful and so much to do, you can watch the Halona Blowhole, do some small cliff jumps into the cove, explore the volcanic rock formations, lay on the beach, checkout the cave, or take a dip in the ocean! Worth the small climb down to the cove every time. There's many names for the beach such as "Cockroach Cove" and "From Here To Eternity Beach".

Awesome place. There is no facilities at all, it's not an actual park. There is a sign that says don't enter, that's where you want to enter. Climb down some rocks and you end up at a cool little beach. The snorkeling is not easy there due to the waves, but it has some pretty great views. Would definitely come back.

One of my favorite beaches to go to in Hawaii. It's a hike to get there (literally), but it's short and not very difficult. You can climb the cliffs, swim in the waves, or just sit on the sand. The current here is strong, so people who are afraid of the ocean may want to stay away, but it's definitely worth seeing if you're ever in Hawaii.
