A close local friend picked this up and brought it over to our house for dinner. The food is sincerely good, it's clean, healthy & so satisfying. The portions served are perfect. I'm a big eater & I felt perfectly full after the meal. The coconut cream dessert, Haupia is out of this world, definitely a crowd favorite. I look forward to visiting the store & eating again.

I have some friends that live on Oahu, and have visited several times. In my opinion, this is the BEST spot for poke on the island! The lava bowl is bomb! Spicy tuna with sweet unagi sauce - yum! Then the avocado and tempura shrimp were just a delicious added bonus. Props for offering something a little different than most poke places on the island. Definitely a must try if you're in Kaneohe!

OMG, you guys, soooooo good! This is my go-to spot for a quick bite to eat. It's a literal hole in the wall - they might work in the skinniest business you will ever see. (You will know what I mean when you get there.) I ALWAYS go with the LBS Special which is a choice of poke and meats and I usually add in the shrimp tempura for a $1. On top of that, the LBS Special comes with a free drink. They use multi-grain rice which isn't my fave but I don't mind it because I feel like I'm eating healthier. Haha! My favorite choices are: ahi poke, spicy ahi and kalua pig. I used to love their kalbi, but every since they served it bone-in, I've been skipping that choice. I don't want to pay for a little meat on a big bone. Parking is hit or miss. So here's my suggestions: call in your order ahead of time (even 5 or 10 minutes ahead) and have one person jump out to grab the order. Local Boy Sushi is a gem in Kaneohe!!!

A 3 star review, simply because it's a hole in the wall with limited seating, the menu options are limited, and the sushi was OKAY. It was okay, nothing g special. Perhaps I expected more since this place was hyped up by a few people and other reviews I came across prior to my visit. Anyway so I got the LBS combo pack for $18. Comes with: 2 PC ahi nigiri 2 PC salmon nigiri 8 PC California maki 2 PC smoked salmon 2 PC spicy ahi 2 PC ahi poke I enjoyed the ahi poke the best out of everything in the combo pack. But again, there just wasnt anything "special" about it all. That's all I had, and perhaps I would need to try other items on their menu. But for now, this is all I can review on. Until next time. Oh and I didn't snap any pics of the combo, so sorry for that, I was starving by the time I got there and gobbled it down before realizing I hadn't snapped any pics of the food, lol!

Hands down the best place we ate on Oahu! So delicious!! We got the big Bruddah with kalua pork, smoked salmon, spicy ahi, ahi poke, and smoked meat. We also got the lava roll and bread pudding. All of it was amazing! The bread pudding was good, not the best one we have had, but still good. But the food was so so delicious! Highly recommend!!

Great gluten-free options!!!! The cashier was knowledgeable in what ingredients do and do not contain gluten. He was able to help me create a super yummy gluten-free poke bowl to accommodate my gluten-sensitivity. The poke bowls are BOMB. My husband likes the lava bowl (not gluten-free). The cashier will even give you a small container of gluten-free soy sauce per request! 😊 highly recommend if you want a good poke or sushi hole in the wall with high quality and fresh ingredients

I had the deluxe cheeseburger and I was so shocked with how good it was. The best burger for only 4.25. Yes it is small but so full of flavor. My husband got the lava roll and it was super good! I also tried the hand roll maki with shrimp tempura for the first time and it was surprisingly good. The menu is a bit limited but so tasty.

Overcooked rice, no . Disappointing.

This place is brilliant. My wife and I visited Waikiki/Honolulu last week, and we ate at several high end sushi restaurants while we were there. We spent upwards of several hundred dollars per restaurant. None of them were as good as Local Boy Sushi. The menu here is concise, but everything they make is made very well. A week later I am still day dreaming about the Lava Bowl. If I get the chance to return to Oahu, coming back here for sushi is going to be priority for me.

I can't even begin to describe how sublime the sushi at Local Boys is. I was floored. My latest purchase was the LBS Combo Pack. The ahi nigiri, as always, was perfect but what really surprised me were the salmon options. I'm not big on salmon. Call me spoiled, but I've never had salmon that could compare to fresh caught ... until today. The salmon nigiri, served with a thin slice of red onion, was reminiscent of lomi salmon and just left me tickled. The smoked salmon, well let's just say a few expletives followed by delicious. I can't close this review without mentioning the Cali roll. I can't say what, maybe the rice, maybe it was just that fresh, IDK. It was just better than any Cali roll I can remember. Oh, before I forget, it's about the same price as that imitation crab meat cr@p they sell at the grocery store. One last note, if you're gonna drive across the island to visit Local Boys (which would totally be worth it) stop in next door at Ressie's Kusina and get a little something to go - like a double serving of pork adobo....

This place is delicious! I got the bowl with salmon, tuna and smoked meat. LOVED it. Also their bread pudding is amazing. I highly recommend this place, you can’t go wrong with any of the menu items

The Bread Pudding and Sweet Potato Haupia Pie were sooooo good! We also enjoyed our meal. Shared a Poke rice bowl and a bowl with Kalbi & Kalua Pork. Service was friendly and funny. Will definitely return when I am in Kaneohe again!

Bought 2 hamburger deluxe. Taste just like it used to when I was small kid time! And only $3.50 a piece!

Not bad sushi for a reasonable price

Fast, local, and tasty! It’s take-out only, so we took our order to the park down the street to eat. The wife and I got to relax and eat while our girls played on the jungle gym. P.S. The bread pudding is to die for.

Took a friend here on Friday. Was raving to him how good it was. Ordered the spicy ahi bowl and spicy ahi pack. The fish was discolored but thought it might be ok because I've never had issues with this place. However, the pieces were hard and not as tasteful as before. Low and behold I sustained food poisoning a few hours later. It is Sunday now and I still have a sore stomach.. very disappointed with this one bad experience. Was served rotten fish unfortunately. I find it hard to believe I would come back here anytime soon or recommend this place. So bummed.

Superrr little whole in the wall lunch spot. Prices were good too! Sushi made with proper rice. We went at least twice during our stay on the island. I would highly recommend!

Today we swung by there and got three cheeseburgers. Two teri and a regular. They were excellent, and the price was right. Overall. Very satisfied and would totally stop there again to get french fries with them and do the whole meal. Absolutely fantastic experience.

If you’re hungry for some ono poke stop by this hidden gem. You won’t regret it. Food is fresh and delicious and the staff is friendly! Whenever I’m in Kaneohe I eat here!

This place is AMAZING!! This is the best poke on island . And the prices!? Its so refreshing finding a local place not trying to over charger. Just got done eating and all I can say is WOW! Like this sushi blew me away with how flavorful and huge it was. I got the Spicy pack and my friend got the Lava roll and both of our first bites were explosive lol. We also got the bread pudding and that was amazing as well. Definitely will recommend to friends and anyone wanting to enjoy some awesome sushi

The Lava Bowl and sweet potato pie are the best, and the fish always tastes fresh and delicious. Quality on some other items, like the burgers, have gone down since my initial review.

I got the Lava bowl with spicy ahi and shrimp tempura. The ahi pieces were small but not too small and evenly cut. I like that it wasn't over saturated with mayo like foodland's is these days. The sweet and salty flavors were well balanced. I would return for this next time I'm on this side of the island.
