Went
today
for
lunch
on
the
recommendation
that
"This
is
my
favorite
ramen".
Got
an
order
of
fried
gyoza
and
the
Manichi
Special
Tonkotsu
Shibori
ramen.
The
fried
gyoza
are
billed
as
the
#1
in
Japan.
Might
be
#1
in
Japan
but
#15
in
Oahu.
Gyoza
was
a
combination
steam
and
pan
fried
and
then
literally
smothered
in
chopped
green
onions.
Texture
was
off
due
to
the
combination
of
being
steamed
and
pan
fried.
Flavor
of
the
filling
was
meh
for
sure.
The
ramen
broth
on
the
other
hand
was
the
star
of
the
show.
Lots
of
deep,
velvety
sesame
flavor
mixed
with
pork
fat
from
the
bountiful
pork
belly.
I
did
not
get
a
soft
boiled
egg
with
mine
but
instead
received
a
hard
boiled
egg
that
looked
like
it
had
been
marinated
in
some
type
of
shoyu
marinade.
Not
a
speck
of
creamy
egg
yolk
to
be
found.
I
asked
if
they
could
make
it
spicy
but
I
think
the
cashier/cook
didnt
want
to
venture
off
of
the
prescribed
recipe.
She
said
they
already
put
some
chili
seasoning
in
it.
And
yes,
she
was
the
only
person
working
the
cash
register
and
preparing
the
food.
Another
employee
showed
up
but
he
showed
up
after
we
received
our
food.
This
is
by
no
means
the
best
ramen
in
Oahu
and
certainly
not
the
best
ramen
in
Kaneohe.
Overal,
it
was
great
for
mall
kiosk
food
as
that
is
what
this
place
is.
It
is
not
a
sit
down
restaurant
and
does
not
pretend
to
be.
However,
the
price
did
represent
a
sit
down
restaurant
price.
