I
came
in
with
pretty
high
expectations,
since
this
place
is
supposed
to
be
among
the
top
10
restaurants
in
India
and
all
that.
Starting
off,
I
could
notice
that
the
ambience
is
definitely
fitting
for
the
type
of
food
served
here.
I
had
a
vegetarian
meal
which
cost
about
โน1,050
after
tax,
and
it
had
about
15
items.
The
food
was
a
mix
of
South
Indian
staples
like
Dosa
&
Chutney,
Parotta
&
Kurma
and
Curd
rice,
and
Anglo-Indian
inspired
dishes
like
Bread
Pudding
with
homemade
Ice-Cream
(which
was
quite
delicious
if
I
might
add),
and
creamy
Baked
Potatoes.
But,
the
one
thing
I
felt
missing
was
"classic"
or
stereotypical
Chettinad
cuisine.
I
was
looking
forward
to
Urulai
Kizhangu
roast
or
some
Mor
Kuzhambu,
but
that
wasn't
the
case.
We
weren't
even
served
plain
rice
to
be
honest,
which
was
a
little
surprising
when
it
comes
to
a
South
Indian
meal.
The
only
'South
Indian'
dessert
we
had
was
Paal
Kozhukottai
which
didn't
really
seem
all
that
special
since
I
had
it
in
three
different
local
restaurants
prior
to
this.
There
wasn't
really
anything
that
made
this
experience
stand
out
in
my
opinion.
It
was
just
a
good
South
Indian
meal
with
some
specialties,
but
nothing
as
amazing
as
the
hype
would
have
you
think.
We
aren't
paying
โน1000+
to
eat
the
same
old
Parotta-Kurma,
Curd
Rice
and
Dosa-Chutney
for
dinner
now,
are
we?
Overall,
the
ambience
and
good
variety
made
it
a
one-time
visit,
but
in
my
opinion,
it
doesn't
live
up
to
the
hype
and
isn't
quite
worth
the
asking
price.
You'd
probably
find
better
food
by
exploring
cheaper
local
restaurants.
