Firstly, "THIS PLACE IS NOT AT ALL HAUNTED". Many bloggers spread rumours to increase their likes and views. As I have my own travel company, I have worked for years in this area. Again we have visited and spoke to the authority, even they are fed-up with this rumours so as the teachers and students of that school. They have banned all the tourist of this kind. This place is most positive place with lots of heritage memories. The Downhill Church is my most romantic and peaceful place among all...so it is my favourite. Dont believe rumours ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿป

People from all over the world visit Darjeeling in order to witness its natural beauty. But, what are hidden behind this amazing beauty are the haunted places. Darjeeling is also famous for the numerous haunted places it hosts. Dow Hill is one such haunted spot located in Darjeeling. It is located at an altitude of 1,458 metres and is blessed with a pleasant climate throughout the year. The winters are mild as compared to Darjeeling as it is located 32 kms away from Darjeeling. The Dow Jones Industrial Average, or the Dow for short, is one way of measuring the stock market's overall direction. It includes the prices of 30 of the most actively traded stocks. When the Dow goes up, it is considered bullish, and most stocks usually do well. Located on the outskirts of Darjeeling, at a height of 1,458 m above sea level, Kurseong is a popular hill station. The word 'Kurseong' means the place of the white orchid. It got this name due to the abundance of lovely white orchids that bloom on its hill slopes. Located at an altitude of 1,482.55 metres (4,864.0 ft), Kurseong is 32 kilometres (20 mi) from Darjeeling and has a pleasant climate throughout the year. Kurseong is 34 kilometres (21 mi) from Siliguri and is connected to the city by road and the Darjeeling Himalayan Railway.

Nice place. However we were not allowed to enter the Victoria's Boys School which is said to be spooky and the church too was not accessible. Overall ambience was nice and quiet.

Raw beauty of nature. Misty and narrow roads. Need private vehicle or you can also walk on foot. The scenery is all dense forest all around of pine trees. Adventurous.

There's a park for children which also has some rabbits in it. You can sit in the sheds and get some rest. There's a water dam and a section of the jungle where all the medicinal plants are there. Cold, shady place overall.

Absolutely stunning! The monsoon season made it more amazing. The pine forests were covered in fog and mist. The nearby dowhill public school is a structure to put stares. You will find deep connections with nature here.

Good place but quite old. It is not being renovated recently. It have a cute little zoo with few animals. Just in front of the gate, here is a small stall where you can get authentic momos and tea. Maggi, noodles also available. They will cook it after ordering. Also need to have tickets. And you will get to use a washroom. Not so cleaned. But can use for a emergency purpose. Have to get keys from ticket counter. Have few slides and seats in the park for children. It is located almost on the mountain surrounded by forests. Will love it if you are a nature lover.

Nestled amidst the lush greenery of the Eastern Himalayas, this park offers a rejuvenating escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. Good for kids, small for tourist attraction, you can spend more time if you take a trek or walk around in the woods. Spooky after sunsetb

It's serene, calm and beautiful woods. A walk through it is thrilling especially because of the myth of being haunted. But the local driver said it is actually a figment of imagination of some vlogger that made the place haunted.

A serene and quite place. If you are a nature lover you are going to love this place, keeping aside stories of haunted church and people experiencing paranormal activity. The tall pine trees are sight to watch as you walk through the narrow winding road climbing the hilly terrain. You will sparsely see any human, none the less there are forest officer dwelling and can spot few rangers as well. The place adorned with few boarding schools. Beautiful they are in this setting surrounded by hills and forest

A small park on the top of the Downhill in Kurseong. The area is very beautiful however the park doesn't have any great attraction as such. You need to pay to enter the park. There are tea and snack stores and a pay-and-use toilet just outside the park.

Set on the hills of Kurseong, this area is enveloped with tall pine trees and lush greenery. One can hear the whispering sounds coming from the trees when the wind blows and the chirping of birds in this location. There is also a children's park with playing facilities for the amusement of children. The best way to enjoy the peace and tranquility prevailing in this area is by taking a walk.

Dow Hill Eco Park is a nice, quaint place with a playground on the inside. There are a couple of small stores outside that serve tea, momos, etc. There is an entry fee for getting into the park. There is also a toilet outside which has a separate entry fee. You can get the keys to the toilet from the ticket counter. Unfortunately the eco park has almost no maintenance. Most of it seemed to be closed off as well. Only a small area near the main entrance seemed to be open to the public.

Dowhill is itself famous for its natural beauty. To reach Dowhill you have to climb approx 12 kms from the centre of Kurseong. You can enjoy sun shine here amidst the long pine, deodar, dhupi and other trees. The Dowhill Govt School, Forest School are close to the Dowhill Eco Park. The calm and quiet atmosphere of the park is its great plus point. Different rides are available for the children. You can study nature and walk in the park far from the madding crowd. But remember, Dowhill is also famous for its haunted houses.

Downhill Ecopark in Darjeeling is a serene escape amidst nature's beauty. The park offers breathtaking views of the surrounding hills. But nothing special as a park.

  • 5/5 Prasad B. 11 months ago on Google
Good for kids and children.... They'll enjoy for sure. But entry fees of 20 rs per head is too much for this kid of park... Why eco park, no-one knows! No refreshing rooms, no food carts, nothing actually within the park, just few play items which were enjoyable for kids, that's why I put all stars... Entry towards deer park / animal or aviary breeding centre is restricted but this park is locally vocally announced as deer park. What a fuzzz.! We been there on 7th May 2023.

Very nice place with an old well laid out school. Speaks to a time many moons ago. The Anglican Church along the way has a reputation of being haunted. A lovely walk not overrun by crowds. Lovely old cypress trees with sunlight filtering through was special. The person at security won't let you through unless you 'buy tea' from the vendor which is an indirect way of asking for an entrance fee

It's a nice park in the midst of the mountains well decorated garden previously it is also known as deer park but gradually the number of deer decreases and no such deer is identified in this park. It charges Rs 20 for every person every visitor can visit by registering themselves. Different activities are there for children along with lots of rabbits are there also by sitting in this park anyone can spend a large time by watching flowers and taking pictures.

A Serene Escape to Nature's Lap: Dow Hill Eco Park Review Rating: โ˜…โ˜…โ˜…โ˜…โ˜† (4/5) Nestled deep within the lush greenery of the Kurseong region in West Bengal, Dow Hill Eco Park offers visitors a tranquil and refreshing retreat into the heart of nature. I recently had the pleasure of visiting this hidden gem, and I must say, it left a lasting impression on me. Natural Beauty (โ˜…โ˜…โ˜…โ˜…โ˜†) The foremost attraction of Dow Hill Eco Park is its breathtaking natural beauty. As you step into the park, you're immediately greeted by a dense forest canopy that surrounds you with an enchanting aura of serenity. Tall, ancient trees tower above, their branches forming a natural canopy that filters the sunlight, creating a dappled play of light and shadow on the forest floor. The air is crisp and filled with the soothing scent of pine trees. Trails and Hiking (โ˜…โ˜…โ˜…โ˜…โ˜†) Dow Hill Eco Park offers a network of well-maintained trails that wind through the forest, making it a paradise for hikers and nature enthusiasts. The trails vary in difficulty, catering to both novice and experienced hikers. The highlight for many is the path leading to the Dow Hill School, a colonial-era building that adds an eerie charm to the surroundings. The forest's silence broken only by the sound of your footsteps makes the hike an incredibly immersive experience. Breathtaking Views (โ˜…โ˜…โ˜…โ˜…โ˜†) Several viewpoints within the park provide stunning vistas of the Kanchenjunga mountain range. On a clear day, you can see the snow-capped peaks glistening in the distance. These viewpoints are perfect for photographers or anyone who simply wants to enjoy a moment of tranquility while taking in the majestic scenery. Historical Intrigue (โ˜…โ˜…โ˜…โ˜†โ˜†) Dow Hill is also known for its mysterious history, which adds a layer of intrigue to the park. The Dow Hill School, often shrouded in mist and silence, has been the subject of numerous ghostly legends. While this might not be everyone's cup of tea, it does add an interesting twist to the park's ambiance. Amenities (โ˜…โ˜…โ˜…โ˜†โ˜†) While the natural beauty is the main draw, Dow Hill Eco Park could benefit from some additional amenities. There are a few seating areas, but more could be added for visitors to relax and enjoy the surroundings. Additionally, better restroom facilities and a small refreshment stand would enhance the overall experience. Conclusion Dow Hill Eco Park is a slice of paradise for nature lovers and hikers. Its untouched natural beauty and serene atmosphere make it an ideal destination for those seeking a break from the hustle and bustle of city life. While some additional amenities would be a welcome improvement, the park's raw and unspoiled charm is what makes it truly special. I highly recommend a visit to Dow Hill Eco Park for anyone looking to reconnect with nature and experience the magic of the Himalayan foothills.

It is a popular tourist spot of Kurseong situated at above 4k feet. Very beautiful & peaceful place. There are some rumours as haunted place about the school you seen in picture.
