Nature park & Zoo., Good place for children but it needs to take care a little more as lots of garbage at the exit, and there is a vendor of non healthy food, Everything else is fine. It's not like as of the decade before, lots of animals are reduced and the majority are in 2 to 4 pieces, Just give a look of a sample for each.

The only zoo of South Gujarat and Surat.great place to visit with family and children and friends. Most Animals in the zoo are kept in open cage.the butterfly park is also an attaraction for children.many species of butterflies are seen in this park.also having facilities for food and garden benchies are there. It's situated at the bank of river Tapi there for the always good atmosphere in the zoo.

The best zoo of Gujarat in terms of cleanliness, low price, variety of animals and adventure. You will find variety of wildlife animals and birds over there and trust me you gonna enjoy yourself every bit of it. Despite being a municipal corporation under the government it can give a tough battle to private high price zoo's across India.

Complete waste of time and money – there are very few animals, and they are neglected. Furthermore, there's no food or water bottles available within the park as all the shops are closed. The animals appear to be in a weakened state.

Good to see Tiger, White tiger, Lion, Bear, Crocodile etc... The butterfly garden required an additional ticket.

Sarthana Nature Park is a zoological garden located in Surat, Gujarat, India, owned and managed by Surat Municipal Corporation. The  zoo was established in 1984, the first zoo in South Gujarat region and Gujarat's breeding center. The zoo has successfully bred lions, royal Bengal tigers, Himalayan bears and white peafowl.This is the largest zoological garden of the state and one of the oldest zoological parks of Gujarat, spread over the 81 acres with river Tapi on the north side and Surat Kamrej road is on its south side.Sarthana Nature Park and Zoo is spread over 81 acres land and has covered enclosures for a variety of animals and birds. It is a good daytime excursion for kids and adults alike. You will have to be prepared to walk quite a bit though.Nature Park Sarathana is situated at the North-East corner of Surat City, which is approachable by Surat Kamrej Road. The site is covered with an area of 81 acres with river Tapi on the north side and Surat Kamrej road is on its south side. Land is fully vegetated with trees of Eucalyptus, Casurina and Mango etc. The site is an ideal place for the development of a zoo with the new concept of natural habitat design.The Nature Park is located on Surat Kamrej Road and on the up stream left bank of river Tapi, Which is about 10 km. from Surat City and 8 km. away from the National Highway No.8 ( 21'.12' North latitude and 72' . 55' east longitude ). The park is well connected by Rail and Road route. It is 8 Km. away from Surat Rail-way & Central Bus-station.

Surat 's one and only zoo (Jail for inocent)& nature park. Location is easily accessible. Good infrastructure but need renovation now. Need to make larger in favour of birds and animal. Need to maintain cleanliness. Birds cage need renovation and redesign.

I've been to 8 zoos in India... But this one is just wow.. Its an old zoo type vibe... It's clean zoo... The best thing is greenery. There is big pond in the centre of zoo and surrounded by animal enclosure. There are Two White Tiger, Bengal Tiger, Lion and Lioness, Leopard pair, Macacue, hyena, Almost 7-8 types of deer, Jackal, Hippo, Crocs and also a place where you can spot butterfly.

This zoo is a green and a nice place in Surat. It offers a variety of animals such as parrots, tigers, emu, deers, bears, hyenas and peacocks. The animals are kept in quite open space and one can freely observe and record animals. It is a great place for shutterbugs and has lots of places for photography so remember to take your camera along. The butterfly garden here is a peaceful place not occupied by the regular visitors. Although you cannot see loads of butterflies, it us an excellent place to roam around and enjoy. Despite it's natural beauty, this place is poorly maintained. Garbage is all around and some places smell of rotten fish. There are no rules to prevent littering everywhere.

We liked how they lay in the shade and looked at us, like we were visitors in their kingdom Sarthana Zoo Reviews Certainly! In Sarthana zoo animals, we saw Lions, Tigers, Monkeys (Various species), Gorillas,chimpanzees, hippos ,rhinos Kangaroos,Bears, Flamingos,Crocodiles Parrots, deers,cheetahs, Jaguars,Cheetahs,Ostriches and many more.... Must visit while you are in Surat.

The zoo is good but It is not clean. They must have to maintain this place properly.
