    A very big museum, countless locomotives in two roundhouses, I visited 6 German railroad museums this summer and this is by far the best.

    Excellent railway museum centred around 2 engine houses with a good collection of diesel, electric but mainly steam engines most of Saxon heritage. Also features a small but interesting narrow gauge mining railway and many more pieces of railway history. Great value for money and kids are free!!

👍👍 Must visit place in Chemnitz. Amazing different type of machine from various generation. Interestingly some of the machine models and in working conditions. Kids can get lot of information about old technology which they haven’t seen in todays life.
