(Translated by Google) Great place; a few hours of sightseeing guaranteed, the automotive department is a topic for even half a day, The remaining part of the exhibition, which is really large, is an interesting look into the past when it comes to household equipment and the technological achievements of that time, such as the first mobile phones or TV sets. Access to the museum by tram no. 6 RECOMMENDED (Original) Świetne miejsce; parę godzin zwiedzania gwarantowane, dział motoryzacji to temat nawet na pół dnia,Pozostała część ekspozycji która jest naprawdę spora jest ciekawym spojrzeniem w przeszłość jeżeli chodzi o wyposażenie gospodarstw domowych jak i ówczesnych zdobyczy techniki jak pierwsze telefony komórkowe czy telewizory . A fantastic museum full of some great exhibits. The main hall is very impressive, the trains are huge! The main issue was accessibility. We had a pushchair and had to carry this up and down loads of stairs. The main hall has no lift so you either leave the pushchair or carry it up and down. Other than that this is a great museum and definitely worth visiting whilst in Prague.

Fascinating museum with something interesting for everyone. Highly recommend. Very well organized and preserved exhibits, with English descriptions for (almost) everything. The amount of things to see here are almost overwhelming. If you think you've finished with seeing every exhibit, check your map! You'll definitely find a room you haven't been in. The temporary exhibition about the 100 years of Czech radio stood out to me, so definitely go check it out before it's over. If during the planning of your trip to Prague you saw this museum on Google Maps (or elsewhere) and you thought "Huh, that's interesting", you should visit.

Historické exponáty jsou dobře ukázané s rozumitelnými popisky. Pokud se chcete více naučit o technice, můžu jen doporučit.

I usually spend 3 to 4 hours in this kind of places. I’ve spent 4.5 hours in this one and no more because someone was waiting for me somewhere else. Transport: 2.5 hours, but then, on the sides of the building: the itinerant exhibition: 1/2 h, photography, chemistry, clocks 1/2 h, household appliances, glass, sugar making, architecture, printing press and astronomy: 1 h… I could have spent another couple of hours gladly!

Great selection of historical cars! You need many hours to see everything so make sure you visit early. We only saw the transportation section.

Really interesting museum that needs 2 hours to really see properly. The main hall is really the most interesting bit, with the history of various transport types, including push bicycles, motor bikes, flying and cars. There are also a lot of models of planes etc to describe parts of the history they either dont have the real thing or not enough space for a full size exhibit. Not all the exhibits are in English however. They also have the car off a high ranking wartime German general. This is a museum that IMO isn't really designed for tourists, but for Czechs and school trips, but if you are interested in the history of this country it is a great way to spend a couple of hours. 🙂

Most worth it museum to visit, incredibly interactive and entertaining for kids and adults alike. The museum seems a way off but is just a short 15 min tram ride from the city centre, coincidentally it's the same tram that takes tourists to the castle! We visited on a Sunday and were baffled by the size of the museum. Cloak rooms were free, bags had to be put away into lockers which cost about 5 Czech crowns. We enjoyed the whole bottom floor before we got too hungry and decided to come back on our next visit to Prague. The bottom floor exhibits showcased the history of clock making in Europe, Chemistry & a beautiful interactive/visual representation of chemical compounds used in society. Most enjoyable for us in particular was the exhibit of cinematography with a large selection of fascinating exemplars. Would recommend as a whole day trip, they do have a restaurant as well which we didn't try out. Will definitely visit again!

Designed in functionalist style and built in 1942 during WWII and placed outside the old city. Nevertheless the exhibits are fascinating with good English translations in most cases. The vast scale of the 6 levels of exhibitions is exhausting but wonderful. They cover an enormous range: domestic technology, chemistry, coal and iron, cars, planes, bicycles, astronomy…. Pick a focus and delve deep or you will be overwhelmed. I suggest coal and iron.

Was great to visit technical museum. We were surprised to know all the items they exhibit there, were produced in Czechoslovakia. The #1 Museum to visit in Prague! Expected spend time: between 2 and 5 hrs. (Depends on how sticky you are to the details)

Amazing museum. It should be in the top five things to see in Prague. We spent 5 hours here and didn't see it all. Planes, trains, automobiles, motorcycles, bicycles, war memorabilia, all sorts of technologies and morobilia. Great for kids and adults. 15 minutes walk from City center. There's a restaurant in the basement. Highly recommended.

(Translated by Google) We wanted to visit this museum following the good ratings and comments left on Google. Huge place that is worth the visit. It has more than a few floors all with its own theme. The most impressive part are the vehicles (planes, bikes, cars, bicycles and locomotives). The other themes include: photography, chemistry, mechanisms such as (working) clocks, mining, metallurgy, astronomy, television and more. The staff is very nice but most of them speak German or Russian.

One of our favourite museums in Prague. You could literally spend the entire day inside So many individuals things to see and experience I loved that most of the exhibits were related to Czech inventors, makers or producers, like the contact lenses exhibit. Our kid loved it too. So many hands on exhibitions Have a stop at the local cafe for lunch. Food was actually great there! You are legends guys!!

I strongly recommend this museum especially for those who are into Chemistry and Engineering. There were lots of explanations that are provided in English and Czech. This museum has 4 floors up and 2 down so allocate about 3 hours in total if you want to thoroughly look around.

Great museum, clean, good value for money but you need at least a few hours to explore everything . Remember, it's not only a main exhibit, it has a lot more (5 floors) - you can find "maps" at the entrance.

Very interesting museum. A lot of cars, vehicles, bicycles and motorcycles and aircraft. In addition, there is also a hall with everything related to photography of the past, clocks and another complex. The museum also has a room for children where they can assemble something from pieces of metal and screws. There is also a restaurant and a souvenir shop. We really enjoyed visiting this museum.

I recently visited the National Technical Museum in Prague, and I want to share my enthusiasm with others. The museum stands out with its extraordinary collection of bicycles, motorcycles, cars, and airplanes. I was particularly impressed by the rare Bugatti specimens on display. In addition, the museum is divided into thematic exhibitions on different floors, including mining, metallurgy, watches, household appliances, chemical industry, television, astronomy, and sugar industry. What especially amazed me was the size of the collection of rare bicycles and cars. It was truly fascinating to see these historical artifacts up close. The museum is well-organized, with clear information about each exhibited item, enriching my visiting experience. Besides the rich collection, the museum exudes a positive atmosphere and enthusiasm. The staff is very knowledgeable and ready to answer all my questions. Also, the fact that the museum is divided into thematic exhibitions allows visitors to explore areas that particularly interest them. I want to emphasize the importance of preserving this national technical treasure. The city of Prague and the Czechoslovak state deserve all the praise for preserving these invaluable artifacts and allowing visitors to experience them in such an authentic way. I highly recommend everyone to visit the National Technical Museum in Prague. This is an incredible experience that will surely amaze you and enrich your knowledge of technical history. Thanks to Prague and Czechoslovakia for preserving this exceptional place

Very interesting museum with a lot of genuine historical relics from the past. The best part is the hall with cars, motorcycles and airplanes. It makes you feel something very special when you see them up close. The museum huge, and you can easily spend 3-4 hours just casually walking around. A more in-depth visit could take the good part of your day. At the time of this review, admittance was 250 Kč (adult). Not cheap for a ticket, but well worth it.

What we saw was really cool, so it saddens me oven more, that 50% of everything you could do, interactions with the attractions shown, where out of order, real bummer. The big exposition hall is really cool, and I found everything really interesting, as they had a big spectrum of topics related to technology. And the entry is very cheap, so I think it's worth a look.

(Translated by Google) A huge museum with many exhibits. By far the largest section is intended for car (and motorcycle, aviation and cycling) enthusiasts, and this part alone takes you half a day to see without any problems. The astronomical, photographic and printing departments are also particularly interesting. However, I missed some interactive content that would attract children a little more. Unfortunately, most things can only be seen and nothing can be tried.

By far the best museum to visit in Prague. You ll spend a few hours visiting it. The massive collection of transportation machines is the most impressive one. Other flloors worth the visit too, but the transportation pavilion is definitely the one you'll spend the most hours in.

This is amazing museum with wide range of exhibition. The theme is technical, from architecture, astronomy, chemistry, transportation, photography, printing, mining, and many more. And the staffs, they're such lovely, informative, and passionate to explain about the history.

Beautiful museum with a main focus on transportation. I enjoyed seeing all the unique things from Czech Republic and its history. But it lacked variety a bit. If you're not interested in cars/planes/bicycles/motorcycles I my opinion you can skip this one.

Good place for like 3 hour walk. Make sure you check side doors too. There you can find a camera , mechanical clock and industrial expositions.

Be ready to spend few hours in this beautiful museum. Entry adult ticket costs of 250 czk and be sure it counts every krona you spend. Two language exposition covers all aspects of Czechoslovakia engineering, inventory and technology fields. One of the best exposition is the Transport, you'll find here real steam train and lot of automobiles, motorcycles, plains, bicycles etc. Special thanks for the cheerful personnel of the museum.

Super informative and well curated. Everything from old cars, vintage home appliances and extensive photography exhibits.

One of the best museums I have visited😊. The huge variety of inventions from past to nowadays is impressing 🙂 Very nice collection of first models of cars, motorcycles, bicycles, and planes. There are also two amazing and huge steam locomotives that were based on coal. Beside this there are big halls related to the inventions in astronomy, architecture, civil engineering, television, printing, transport, photography, metallurgy, mining and others. It takes hours to see everything, so plan you visit there in advance 🙂

Compared to Vienna technical museum that we have recently visited, this one is rather smallish. But it's very well organized (except perhaps multi-floor "transportation" that connects to the main stairway only at the bottom floor.) You can freely pick the most interesting exhibitions and won't march yourself to death. I recommend "printing" and perhaps "architecture". Some others e.g. "astronomy" can be a bit dissapointing. The museum promotes Czech industry and technical thought a lot, which is cool, but you have to be invested into it first.

  • 5/5 Z A. 1 year ago on Google
Very high quality exhibition of technical history of Czechoslovakia from egg beaters to linear particle accelerators. The informations are highly concentrated and at the same time easy to understand. The themes cover metallurgy, vehicles, aerospace, architecture, chemistry and imaging system... I can go on for whole day. Be noted there are exhibition upto 3rd Stock, not only the large garage with cars and planes! 6hours will be a good start. Vending machines on second floor will help you through the hunger...

Amazing place! The transportation part was alone about an hour to see, and there are many smaller exhibitions too that are worth checking out, like the retro household items one and the one about the past of printing with many others!

It's very cool place, totally recommend to go with your kids or husband - you will find a lot of interesting exhibitions, but the best is about cars, planes and other vehicles. You can follow all history of mechanical engineering development, see the oldest cars in very good condition. Love it! 4 starts for other exhibitions which could be organized better.

  • 5/5 C. 1 year ago on Google
Awesome Place, definitely worth a visit. For most of the descriptions there is an English translation as well. You will need quite some time to see everything. Plan for a day if you can. The museum is located above the city and there is a great view to enjoy also (just in the park a couple of steps opposite the entrance).

Wide description of all exhibits is available. Cafe is in place. Parking could be full.

Lot of stuff in great condition. Here you can find a lot of traces of local technological advancement, most of which was ruined after 1989. As an example here is state-of-art radial aviation engines produced by Walter. Now is a residential area decorated with ugly David Černý creatures.

Wow! Oldies but goldies! A great collection of cars, motorcycles, biciclets, trains, plains, printing machines, metalurgic and mining tools, architecture and much more! 6 floors with all you can think of. Must visit in Prague! Situated uphill, in front of the museum, a nice spot for panoramic pictures over Prague, also a kiosk with cash only policy.

We spent around 3 hours in the museum, I would recommend going right after opening because they're no people. And you can start from the top to bottom. The Staff was really nice, the place is really huge. Would recommend visiting this place.

Very large technical museum (7 floors). With a wide range of different exhibitions and a restaurant. I had a fun time in there, and used almost 4 hours and only saw 3-4 exhibitions. If you are interested in tech or science, it is definitely worth a visit. The employees are not good at English, but it is manageable.

Some expositions are 'old school ' and a bit boring. But, the main hall (Transportation) is absolutely stunnig and photography exhibition is top. Personally, I liked 'Print manufacturing' as well. Staff is really helpful and pleasant.

There is great transportation display. Very informative and well presented. In addition there are 5 floors of halls that present the technological progress in several disciplines. Starting from home, photography, astronomy, navigation and much more. The adults and the kids were fascinated for 5 hours. Great attraction, especially for a rainy day

Very big and informative museum Have a lot of different floors and different sections of technology, There are some special exhibits also there. It’s extremely informative for children and families. There are some interactive things to do also inside the museum, and there is also an option to buy a multiple entry ticket if you get tired of spending entire day in museums. The staff were helpful but not all of them speak English.

The musem was spectacular with a lot of motoric exhibits from the history of Czech Republic, including the history of Tatra, a famous vehicle company in Czech Republic, and Skoda, a lot of rare vehicles can be found also inside like a spitfire, old Benz car before the merge with Mercedes, I will highly suggest to visit this place if you like cars and motored vehicles!

This spacious museum is very interesting to see and it's definitely worth a visit. Museum has many unique exhibits, including permanent and temporary exhibitions. There are really many permanent exhibitions (such as means of transport, astronomy, photography, mining and much more), so everyone can find something of their interest. Keep in mind that museum (as most of the museums) is closed on Monday.

You could not expect the things that you can see there. Any person can find a thing which causes a lot interest. Good thing is that you can literally go really close to any stuff. There are some interesting experiments which are must see. Really liked the mini project of sugar factory, i mean, how could it be done in so much details. Recomended to anyone. Even price is really cheap cmon...

A great musun near Letna Park. No matter how old you are, if you have children or what you are interested in, you can find something for you. One of the best places for those interested in technology. My favourite part was the one with cars, planes and motors. Additionally, you can see the history and evolution of clocks, phones, cameras, household, metallurgy and many more.
