Fun and interesting visit for the family. Cool historical trains featured here. Fun little train ride available too.

I live this museum but I think that even though there are few customers they should operate some kind of train. Price is ok. Staff is very kind so overall our family had a nice time here. I also advice people to walk around and look at the buildings specially the old timber houses .

We love this. Especially my three year old. No complaints. None at all.

Great place to be with kids.

Geile Ausstellung für den Eisenbahnfan. Riesiges Freigelände und ebenso überdachte Ausstellungen. Im Sommer auch Mitfahrt im Museumszug auf dem Freigelände möglich. Inkl. Cafe im bzw. am original Bordrestaurant eines Speisewagens. Drumherum sind viele Originalgebäude der norwegischen Eisenbahn "zusammengetragen" worden. Alles gut erklärt, allerdings alles auf schwedisch/ englisch. Man liest sich aber ein ;). Alles kinderwagentauglich. Ein super Ausflug, durchaus den ganzen Tag planen. Der Eintrittspreis ist es auf alle Fälle wert!

Nostalgisches Eisenbahnmuseum für Fans und die Kleinen unter uns. Sehr eindrücklich und die Dampflok-Fahrt begeistert auch die Großen. Preise sind moderat und man hat ca. 2-3 Stunden, bis man mehr oder weniger Alles gesehen hat. Genügend Parkplätze in der Nähe vorhanden.

A must see place with children. Highly recommended. A historical tour for adults. There is a big inndoor playground inside. Amazing!

The Winter exhebition was a bit smaller, than expected but in Summer it seems there must be a lot going on here. The Park is very amazing also without Trains running in it.

Sehr schön aufgebaut Ausstellung mit tollen Exponaten. Für Eisenbahnfans ein absolutes Muss! Angeschlossen ist ein sehr schöner Park mit vielen alten Gebäuden, traumhaft gelegen am See. Für Familien mit kleinen Kindern wird parallel eine Fahrt mit einer alten, kleinen Dampflok incl. der original restaurierten Wagons. Sehr empfehlenswert.

Nice train museum with display of historical wagons and scale models as well. Parking is free outside of the museum. I went there when they had model train exhibition so there were lots of enthusiasts with their model railway, possibility to buy model trains and accessories. Overall it was fun filled visit. 🚂

It is great. A loot to see both inside and outside, the day I was there a steam lokomotiv was going back and forth and you could get a ride. It is on the edge to lake Mjøsa and beside a nice park. We had a coffee and a verry good time.

Good museum but a bit heavy on the steam locos. Would be nice to have som more recent electric traction as well.

This is a wonderful collection of railway buildings, trains, train cars, and associated items. The grounds are always open, but the actual museum has posted hours. They are extended during the month of July. Guided tours are available. There is a small gift shop with a selection of items appropriate to the topic. There is no restaurant, but there are some vending machines and a small snack area. Some buildings and exhibits will require climbing into and out of rail cars or over building thresholds.

Great place to take the kids where they can learn a little history, a little science, and a little on how to drive (or crash) a train in the train simulator.

Absolutely the best museum i been on. Perfect for kids in all ages..

This is a great museum with both an outdoor open museum area and indoor sections! The model train area in the main building is a favorite for our small children! I also like how the food area has train-related games on the surface of the tables! We visited on a very cold day in January and arrived early. The staff let us in before opening, which was much appreciated since we have small children. The trail through the forest from the main building to the other sections has an open museum with farm buildings, etc. A favorite walk for our 2 year old. The waterfront across the street from the main building is a great place to discover rocks and fossils.

Small but full of interesting stuff

Nice little museum with the railway history of Norway. Love that there's a big outdoors section which is a park. It has a running steam powered train you can ride.
