One beef I had with the museum is, since it's doing old timey theme on the building and the train, they should have went all out and had everybody dressed like old dutch train station staff, used old timey money and had old dutch food - such a wasted potential. All in all, quite a good museum, and if you're coming in from semarang, an overnight stay at the Umbul Sidomukti, after your visit to the museum is highly recommended.

Sadly, because of pandemic, all the regular tour train is off. But, luckily, when i revisited again some days ago there is a trainset booked by a group of people. Basically it is a train station modified as a museum. Lots of interesting old locomotive collections. The train station it self is also unique, old station relics of the Dutch era. We can also take an ancient train with a wooden carriage to the nearest station for 60 minutes of travel.
