An immersive and educational experience for any age! On display were relics of the limited technologies that built many of the booming industries we use today. My kids loved the model train sets and the miniature train ride. Highly recommend for a fun family outing or just a solo trip to the past! Can't wait to revisit.

We went there today with the family We had a wonderful time very interesting educational stuff there tells you all about the railroads of the early part of The 19th century I would highly recommend it and to top it all off it's completely free. The staff that was there were truly nice and helpful people. Make sure you don't miss it. Check it out, also check us out @EternalEscapades on YouTube 👑❣️💯😂

The West Florida Railroad Museum is open Wed-Sat from 10am to 3pm. Admission is free, but donations are encouraged. The Emerald Coast Garden Railroad Club maintains the beautiful garden train layout. Children ages 3 to 12 may ride the 7-1/2 Gauge train in the garden on Fridays and Saturdays, weather permitting. This museum is very well maintained and the static displays are in immaculate condition with informational placards on each. The Bridge Tender's House was moved here from Escambia Bay and houses a very elaborate HO scale model train layout that features local historic structures. The ca. 1929 Pullman dining car "The Globe Coffee House" is available for rent for parties, meetings and other events. Inquire with the staff regarding rates and scheduling. The museum is only a few minutes drive from the Interstate. If you are traveling along I-10, take the Bagdad-Milton exit and follow the signs toward Bagdad and Milton.

Such neat place for kids and adults. They are free but accept donations. There is lots of history here to explore. It was great getting to see how trains operated back in the day and now. You can walk through train cars, see a large model train setup, kids can ride a miniature train, and if you are lucky you may even see a train pass by! Defiantly worth checking out!

This is really a first class museum. I wish we could have stayed longer. The baggage room and agent's office were the most interesting, but that's where we were able to spend the most time, so maybe if is been able to spend more time I'd prefer another room. There's lots of information about the beginning of the railroad in Florida, and how it progressed. Another room (one of the waiting rooms) is filled with stories of all the personalities involved in the railroad. So fascinating! There's also a caboose you can climb around on and a couple train cars used for special events. Very well done! And free!

It is a good place for kids to learn about inception of rail roads and how the technology has advanced from there. This place is rooted in history of the local region. Some of the attractions in the list provided by the welcome center were closed. However, I do recommend to visit the small rail track that is at the rear end of the museum. The employees are friendly and answer the questions that you might have for them. Overall, a definite place to visit if you love history!

Run almost exclusively by volunteers with a variety of things to see, from full-size rolling stock, to an interpretative museum with historical pieces, to a miniature outdoor garden railway. This is a great place to take small children, as someone of any age can find something enjoyable. Days/Hours are limited so be sure to check out the website for accurate information. I highly recommend checking it out if you are in the area.

We've been thru 38 states, and this is the best historical depot. Caboose fully open, passenger dining car with kitchen. Miniature railroad for kids, and a functioning g model railroad.

This museum visit with 8 grandchildren, ages 3-12 was just great. The display showing miniature trains situated around the Milton and Pensacola train stations was amazing. George was our tour guide and did a wonderful job explaining the trains; various cars, connections, and break systems over the years, the telegraph, how the tracks, side tracks, communications, signals and mail system have worked and developed, and many other interesting details. Best of all was the larger train display and the little train ride for the kids at the end. The younger ones were a little bored occasionally, but it all really held the interest of the older ones and the adults. The museum is nonprofit with donations gladly accepted; definitely worth our time and contributions.

I haven't been inside since I was a child, but I recently had the pleasure of shooting some couples portraits outside the museum. I'm very happy with how these turned out. The train car offers a unique environment and the railroad tracks are always a great way to get an old timey feel! I look forward to shooting more photos here and in the surrounding area!

Even though this is a small museum, it is packed with a lot of local history. I found a few really surprising nuggets of information! If you have an hour or so to spend and are in the Milton area, stop by and take a tour.

Nice place to learn about local railroad history. There is also a garden railroad on the property. Was here for their Tailgate Model Train sale. Small turnout, maybe because of Covid? They also have a caboose, flatcar and boxcar from L&N railroad.

Took our 6 yr. old granddaughter to visit the RR Museum! She LOVED watching the model trains go around the tracks. Took a ride on the mini train. Seen all kinds of old stuff & talked on a phone from the 50's!! Great educational fun!!

Great atmosphere for time travel into the past. Although small compared to some historical sites, it is filled with historical presence. What makes this railroad museum unique is you have the hands-on experience instead of seeing it through a glass. This place let's you feel the past in history along with seeing it firsthand. Great tour for all ages. The one thing I would like to see added would be a voice recording for each section that could provide greater detail for that era. The cost is free, donations are greatly appreciated and help maintain the up keep for future generations to experience.

Wonderful train museum with real cars to walk through and lots to learn about the history of local railway. They have a gift shop and visitor information in the front where you can get a map of the museum. They have an authentic dining car to walk through along with a caboose. Inside one of the buildings is a huge motorized train that replicates the local Milton and Pensacola depot's when they were a main transportation mode. There is also a train that small children can ride on that goes around a magnificent train track with several motorized trains running on it. We loved visiting this museum and I had no idea it had as much to see and do as it does. They even rent out the dining car for birthday parties to help financially keep up the museum. I highly recommend everyone to stop by and enjoy a piece of history.

🤔 Hmmm what can I say? Great environment. Helpful staff. A lot of interesting history about the history of railroading, with all sorts of antiquities and related things. There's a cool little train layout in the building in the back. Stepping onto the old train cars is almost like going back in time in the history of the past. I love these old places like this. Much respect to the people who stepped up back in the day and saved this railroad depot, because this is the only surviving train depot in existence within this entire area. Well, except for the Old Depot in Pensacola which is now part of the Grand Hotel lobby. But this depot right here though is pretty neat. I wish they would have saved the depot in Molino.

👍 The trailside museum is at the foot of the hills next to the ski slope. We mostly went to see the animals. Most of the birds of prey were not in their enclosures because of avian flu. The otter, the foxes, the deer, and some others were still out.

👍👍 This is a great little park right behind the library. I wish the playground had been there when I grew up in the town.
