Our visit was wonderful. They have several train cars and locomotives that you can go inside. The volunteers were so nice and personable. Loved the old locomotive from 1909 and the snow plow one was a favorite. You can feel the history and know it’s preserved by such caring people. Highly recommended.

I would gladly have paid to see this place. The history of the building alone is cool. Being able to touch and feel and climb through the cars and engines made it amazing . Highly recommend for anyone with mechanical inclination or just the kid at heart who loves trains

if you love old trains this is the place to go. Pine Bluff was once a bustling train hub and manufacturing town. it lost out when trains went by the way side but volunteers work hard to keep their history alive. There no charge to visit but donations are welcome. any volunteer on site will gladly share volumes of information with you. the museum is well worth visiting.

Trains have always been a very big interest of mine, while in Arkansas I found out that this museum was in existence and had to make it a point to stop by and take a look. Let me tell you right off the bat this is one of the best decisions I have ever made. The pictures that you see online due little justice to show you the scale of this wonderful place. Upon entering the building I was awestruck at the sheer size of the collection here. Immediately I got really excited to get in there and take look around. I headed towards the back end of the building wanting to see 819 a monstrous old-school steam loco. After hoping aboard and taking a look around my mind started filling with questions and that was when John came up. John is hands down one of the nicest, most knowledgeable gentlemen I have ever had the privilege to talk to. I started hitting him with a flurry of questions and noticed that he had the biggest grin on his face as we are both are "train-heads." He hung out with my Dad and I for over an hour and a half showing us around and sharing his knowledge base and making this a fantastic experience. John also took us over to the switch operations terminal, the terminal was something amazing to see and feel, the switch terminal controlled the lines from Missouri all the way to Texarkana and was made even better when John told us all about how it worked. Besides the trains they have an enormous collection of railway memorabilia everything from lights, bells, horns, pins, outfits, vests and so much more. And, if you are nerd for Lionel train sets this place will be right up your alley! The space is very well maintained and you can feel its history. I have been to lots of museums in my life but, this one hit differently, you can feel the American ingenuity and the importance this place played in the history of this area. I cannot recommend a place more strongly than the Arkansas Railroad Museum. If you can't make it down here I would strongly advise that you toss this museum a donation on there website they deserve every penny as the restoration work they are completing is necessary for our history so future generations can see these wonderful time pieces. And, to you John- Thank you! Thank you for being hospitable, thank you for spending all that time with my Dad and I, thank you for being into trains as much as I am, and Thank you for being a great person! I hope to see you again very soon!

This is a must-see for your little engineer or even your adult train enthusiast. Lots of deisel engines, steam locomotives, sleeper cars, cook cars, passenger cars, and cabooses. You'll even see a snow plow and antique fire engine. My toddler especially loves the model trains they have running. To top it all off, there is a room full to the brim with train memorabilia. So, I highly recommend visiting the museum if you're in the area. Walk away with some knowledge of the local Cotton-Belt Route, see the state locomotive, and maybe even buy an Engineer's cap or shirt pin.

A great place to spend a few hours and learn about local history and trains! Fully staffed by volunteers, it runs on donations. Very well maintained, with a large variety of historical artifacts. History, down to the building it’s housed in, is everywhere! Definitely recommend!

Very fascinating museum with lots to see and learn! There is no entry fee, but donations are appreciated. You can climb up inside most of the locomotives and rail cars! One thing I found very cool is that this building was where they built many locomotives, including 819 that is now on display there! Very cool place to visit! There is no A/C in the main building so it can get pretty warm, but they have big fans that circulate the air to make it much more comfortable. Overall this place is a must visit for anyone passing through the area and especially for anyone interested in locomotives or railroad history!

Please help please help. Stop the Train Horn (very loud sound every time night and day) I can’t afford to move away. Please if you can reach my sound to the Mayor of pine bluff or anyone else who can help us to live in peace and quiet 🙏

Show some love to these guys working. Amazing people very knowledgeable on the trains and the history. Donate when possible and volunteer. These guys that are working need all the publicity they can get. Go there learn the history of 819 and 336 along with the other beautiful cars and trains there. A big shout-out to Richard, thank you for showing us around 819.

I've been coming here since I was old enough to walk, and now it's my daughter's turn. We love it! If you're a parent, it's a great place for your kids to explore. If you're a train enthusiast, you can't get more hands on than at this museum.

There were a 2 older gentlemen there when we arrived Wednesday about 11:30 one was working on some of the projects they had going but an elderly man probably in his late seventies was more than happy to guide us around and explain some of the things the train cars were used for back in the day time moves on but history should be explored by all of our young people
