Well we had a great time there. Location wise it was better away from the hustle bustle of the city. We as a family enjoyed our private bonfire, which was pretty cool. And the best part is food, home cooked meal but fresh, tasty, healthy and hygienic. The ambiance was great and John the owner of the property is helpful understanding and friendly. Thank you John for such a beautiful experience. We all had great time thank you!!

Rain Raaga is clearly one of the best places we have ever stayed in. The place is very serene and beautiful, with clean rooms with great views. The staff and the owner, Mr. John were helpful with every request we had. The food was great and the staff customised few items as per the need of our toddler. We will surely visit this place again. Highly recommend for anyone who is looking for a calm and pleasant stay midst the hills of Chikmaglur. Thank you to Mr. John and team for making our stay warm and memorable.

This is one place where I and my friends will keep going back to, again and again. The place is peaceful and very well equipped, with one of the most amazing hosts and staff I have come across. The food and hospitality is something that cannot be measured in terms of money. If you are looking to have a quiet weekend gateway in the midst of nature, or maybe just get away from the hustle and bustle of city life for some time, it's the place to be🙂

Loved the ambience & warmth of this place. Food was delicious and they had lots of varieties and authentic taste of organic grown vegetables made it even more good. Staff was always ready to help and coordinate to our needs. Lastly the owner John, he helped us with everything our local travel arrangements, our travel route he guided us well to explore around. I stayed here for a night on my last visit to Chikmagalur in Nov 2023. It’s about 2-3 kms from the main road and location is surrounded by forest and has a nice quiet feel to it. We were well looked after by the host Mr John. The food, coffee, rooms everything is nice. Definitely recommend this place. Best part is no music or loudspeakers allowed on the premises. We had secure overnight parking for our bikes too.

Property is neatly maintained and is at a perfect location amidst dense forest. Private bonafire is much appreciated. Food is very delicious and each meal has different varieties of local cuisine. Kids has good number of activities and special thanks to Ravi, Jeevan and chefs for taking care of us.

Our experience at Rain Raaga was rejuvenating and worthy of praise and appreciation in every way. From the minute we drove into the gates to the minute we drove out, we were taken care of wonderfully well. This is a homestay with a difference. Yes, we were living in a family’s estate home, all our needs were cared for with exceptional hospitality and thoughtfulness, yet we had our own comfortable space to relax in and enjoy, with sufficient privacy. The menu, variety, quality and quantity of food offered at every meal was superb. I’ve never been to place that offers something sweet at every meal, including breakfast! Individual preferences (e.g., spice tolerance levels or special need requests) are considered and taken into account. The staff are ever-willing to assist in any way. Persons with limited mobility may not be able to navigate the stairs to the dining area, but food can be served to them in the room on special request. This is a space meant for those wanting to be away from noise, pollution and hecticness and those willing to be respectful of another person’s need for unobtrusive, quiet time. Our deepest gratitude and appreciation to John Mathais and his team/family for creating this haven, to his amazing and inspiring mother (who lives on the premises and whom we had the good fortune to meet), to Jeevan (the omnipresent manager), Ravi, Mani, Junior Jeevan and the kitchen staff for all their hard work, efficient service, thoughtfulness and kindness to make our stay comfortable and memorable.
