Nice quite place to spend time. Better to reach here by early morning. Bus services are there. You can visit Chittar dams nearby as well. If you need to see the dam to capture it's beauty you should get into another place nearby the dam (Pechipparai Steps). Just 10 min from the dam site. You could check it with local people s well.

Very close to the water falls, boating option was fine. Please note that there is an option for you to choose a boat on which someone will row for you, as you will be given a choice or suggestion to take the cycling boats. Rs. 200 for 4 persons.

Pechiparai Dam, nestled amidst the rolling hills of Tamil Nadu, offers a serene escape for travellers seeking a blend of history, nature, and local charm. Built in 1895, the dam exudes a timeless elegance, its red brick masonry contrasting beautifully with the emerald embrace of the surrounding Western Ghats. [Image of Pechiparai Dam Tamil Nadu] Take a leisurely stroll along the dam crest, soaking in the panoramic views of the shimmering reservoir and lush valleys. For a touch of adventure, rent a boat and explore the tranquil waters, or embark on a scenic hike through the spice-scented forests that fringe the dam. Don't miss the vibrant village nestled beside the dam, where you can savor authentic Tamil cuisine and immerse yourself in the warm hospitality of the locals. Pechiparai Dam is a hidden gem, promising a delightful respite for travellers seeking a unique and enriching experience.

Absolutely no safety measures or any other regulations, the boating experience in the reservoir was excellent. The road beyond the dam towards Kothayar village is too bad. Not recommended during rainy days.

Nice Boating experience at dam. They demanded 600 finally agreed to rs.400. You can also use shuttle boat service they charge 40 per person to and fro. You can enjoy the beauty of the dam while boating.

The location is good. But doesn't allowed to walk through the bridge there. But some people entered there with special permission. This act is not correct. Rules must be equal for all.
