This is a must go restaurant and probably the best place that me and my wife went to go eat while here on the big island. The guy working there was a bit quiet, but he delightfully surprised us with a meat pie when we were leaving the food truck. I highly recommend the jerk chicken with waffle meal. The waffle is a little differently made, but I’ll let you experience that. It was good though. The jerk chicken is a little spicy if your not used to that. The meal comes with 1 side because the waffle counts as the other side. Please help this man get more reviews for this restaurant, because his food is really good and everyone should experience it.

For Jamaican food. It's not there it lacks the authenticity and flavor. I'm speaking as a Jamaican born and raised there. The Jamaican side of his menu is way off patty was horrible. I ordered oxtail and rice and peas. Show this pic to ant jamaican.Jamaican. ask them for their opinion.

This food tasted so good that I didn't even wait to take a photo before I ate it. This is definitely one of the best restaurants I've ever had. I got the bacon wrapped ribs with pumpkin cornbread and baby bok choy and it is so good. I could eat this everyday.

Go! The food is worth it! Arthur is a great guy! Check out their daily specials and you wont be disappointed with anything you order! We ordered the corn bread sliders and the bacon wrapped ribs! He's on the corner at the 76 Gas station and has a nice little sit down area and a cooler full of cold drinks!

Nice flavors and good value - has a large selection for a small kitchen food truck and lots of vegetarian options. We were overall happy with everything we ordered. Keep up the good work brother

Hawaii is known for its food trucks. So I like to try them when I can. I tried Cool Runnings because of the strong ratings on Google. While the Jerk Thursday special was a good value, it wasn't a five star experience. The pork was very good but the curry potatoes were so-so and the cornbread that others rave about was average this afternoon. Also, there is no window on the side from which you order and pay. I wandered around the truck a bit calling hello until I got a response. I ordered, got my food and paid through a net screen in the back of the truck. Again, good value (the special anyway) if you're nearby. Not sure if it's worth driving too far for.

It's a food truck. The atmosphere is nonexistent (lol). The jerk chicken was good. It was extremely spicy, but it had a nice flavor. The owner is nice. He was closing but still prepared my food.

Very delicious food. I recommend coming here and eat. The food is delicious and authentic, very well seasoned. You can feel the love in every bite. I had the jerk chicken with rice, very delicious, the chicken was tender and the rice to perfection. The corn bread, was 🔥.

Cool Runnings came recommended from our kayak tour guide. We LOVE a good food truck, but calling this food 'good' is a disservice. It was perfect. Exactly what we needed after a long day of kayaking and snorkeling. I had the brisket with a side of rice and beans and plantains. My partner got the jerk chicken with curry potatoes and plantains. We also added on sides of cornbread and beef patties. We shared our entrees, and we were in agreement that this was easily our best meal in Hawaii, so far. There is a small tent with a table set up outside if you can't wait to get home to dig in, but by the time we got home, washed up, made some drinks and went out to the patio with our plates, everything was still perfectly hot. If I lived here, I would be eating here on a weekly basis. DON'T skip this hidden treasure.

Really good food! Tried lamb curry with plantains & curry potatoes & beef empanadas. Everything was so flavorful, great spices & exactly what we were hoping! Would definitely go back to try other things & highly recommend.

I’m from the Midwest and I’ve been LONGING for a restaurant in kona to really wow me. I’ve been here for 4 years and can count on one hand the restaurants that remind me of good soulful tasty food. It took a food truck!! The jerk chicken and waffles is on POINT!! Cannot wait to try other items on the menu. If they are as tasty and seasoned like the jerk chicken than hands down favorite place to grind!!!

Best food truck meal I’ve ever had. I ordered the jerk chicken platter with curried potatoes and fried plantains. My husband ordered the ribs with rice and a salad. Everything was delicious and was a great way to end the day. The owner was super nice and even stayed open late to make us our dinner. 10/10 would recommend.

Delicious food truck in the parking lot of a gas station. Jerk Chicken was very tasty, portion sizes were reasonable. Got the fried plantains and rice with beans. Wife got the garden salad (nice and fresh!). Both came with a small piece of corn bread. Chicken was thigh meat and tender. Flavor was slightly sweet, slightly spicy, smokey. We also bought a patty which was flavorful and flakey. Cash only, at least when we went. We'll be back.

Updated 6-5-23 Every time we come to the Big Island we look for COOL RUNNINGS. Amazing flavor and home cooked tasting food. We have had nothing but great food and service here. Chill laid back owner that will actually sit and talk with you. The food is full of flavor. The best jerk chicken I have ever had and the brisket was soft and fell apart in my mouth. The service was like a neighborhood cookout, friendly and welcoming. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Best meal we’ve had on Big Island. The owner was so friendly and chill. Those BACON WRAPPED RIBS were so tender and seasoned to perfection. Oh my goodness. And the waffles were so flavourful. Yum yum yum. Do not miss this one~

Had the jerk chicken sandwich, the bread doesn’t hold up well, so eat it quick, but the flavor was to die for! We also got the seafood salad with fried fish. It was very fresh and extremely tasty. This is the best food I’ve had on the big island so far!

Had a delicious jerk chicken platter here. What a treat! The owner is really friendly as well. I really recommend it here.
