Rip off alert!! Very disappointed that Coconut Grove is now charging for parking. The parking is very expensive. $12 per hour. It’s mind blowing when you are already spending a good deal of money to eat there or shop there. Now they are charging high parking. I understand if you’re not going to buy anything or eat. But if you are spending money the businesses should validate parking.

Plenty of shops and restaurants but not parking lot. A pain in the butt for parking in here. Also, the homeless people are rampant in the area. People do play volleyball in here and sunset watching which is pretty good. Spending at least 3hours in here a day is enough. I can’t stand staying whole day here.

If I could give them a zero, I would. The parking lot has now turned into a paid parking lot. I can see charging tourists but locals? Come on. Absolutely disgusting. Also, to register they ask for personal info like your birthday. Why is that needed. Why not just ask for license plate, DL # & name. Why do you need all this unnecessary information. I see now there is A LOT of open stalls in area since they decided to charge people to park.

Always nice to stop in here. Love everything in this area. I find myself drawn back when I'm unsure of where to go/what to do next.

We sat down to have a drink and nobody helped us for 10 minutes so we got up and left. They had plenty of staff. I am not sure what everyone was doing. Nor helping us.

Went to Lava Java and had a great breakfast! The online ordering is a little wonky. Two of our group put their order in together but for some reason it split it and they ended up getting their food an hour apart from one another because another table put their orders in at the same time. Other than that the staff was pleasant, and the food and drinks delicious! A great place to sit and listen to the ocean while having a great time with your people!

Always love the ambience, the sound of the ocean, the musical lifestyle, even the sand volleyball and of course the restaurants. So cool!

Formerly a frequent visitor. Not worth the parking hassle... Not the fault of the businesses but if management chooses to gouge people for parking I'll be going elsewhere.

Nice little airport, all gates are outside, it's a pleasant walk to the plane.

Basically a restaurant plaza more than anything. There are a few other kinds of shops there. There are a lot of places to eat in Kona with several to choose from there. Street parking can be hard to find but there are several paid parking lots around. The lots use a web based system to pay. It can be tricky to get to work. Be ready to input lots of personal info the first time you use it.

I have spent quite a bit of time here over the course of several years. Great place with a lot of different options for stuff. A real treat to just walk around and see what there is too see. A strong reccomendation from me for what that is worth.

Laverne’s good dive bar. Try the nachos as big as your head. Happy hour too, best prices with a nice view.

It's a great place to go for dinner night out on the town. Couple drinks with some friends maybe even just a little bit of gelato. I always bring everybody that comes to the island of Coconut Grove because this little spot has something for everybody no matter what you're into . And the parking is free

I needed flip flops and they had them here. Great place to shop. I also bought Champagne, wine, a lighter, t-shirts, and post cards...

Lots of great shops and food. Really nice Sunday night vibe, almost felt like a community get together where everyone just hung out, watched people play volleyball, and had delicious shaved ice (Gecko Girls).

Great restaurants, pizza, gelato and little shops to cruise through looking for souvenirs to bring home from friends. All right across the street from the ocean! Great views from a few of the restaurants. Fun place to stroll around enjoying the atmosphere.

Great place to hang around and pick up a few things. Not too pricy at a lot of stores. Great views of the ocean while you shop.

A great place to get some food and watch the sunset from the Kona beachside drive. There are plenty of choices for dining and some specialty shops. The parking is a bit crowded and slots might be hard to find but this is a nice central location to explore Kona and is beside the seawall. There is also a beach volleyball court nearby to watch people play while you have an ice cream or take our food while watching the sun goes down over the horizon.

Lots of cool places to eat - the coffee shops there are the BEST places to chill and sip on a coffee in the morning!

Love the place. Great deals and true Hawaiian goods. You meet local artists and craftsmen that have shops there. It's an open area you can just wander around. We always shop there a couple times every time we are on the Big Island. I highly recommend checking it out.

Little bit of everything. Tourist shop, (abc) good food (Foster's kitchen), good Hawaiian food (kava bar) good deserts (gecko girls and gypsea gelato)

This market has a lot going on from shops to restaurants a volleyball court, Cornhole and other games. Its multiple buildings that line the beach and behind. So there were several comments about homelessness and that is true. Its sad to see but a reality where the cost of living is so high. It is interesting that it is more prominent at this location than other shops at Kona. The issue is that some of them were quite violent toward tourists. We saw a few yelling at tourists as they walked down the street. The solution isn't bringing security to preserve tourism. That just relocates the problem. They need genuine help.
