Maybe my favorite bar along the strip. This place has old souls and young blood that keeps this "shack" a roaring! Fun place to drink with friends, meet new folks, or to drink alone. The bartender and kitchen staff are amiable. Be kind and leave a tip it's tough surviving on the island. Ofcourse its located within sight of the Pacific and an easy walk to whatever you need after a few shots or some beers! Dont be shy!

Da Shark is Da Shizzle. Indoor-outdoor tiki dive-bar vibe with killer sunset views, a nice happy hour, & tasty eats. One TV with sportsball on. Fast, attentive, & friendly servers. If you’re going to order the happy hour tacos, I’d get the ono, the beef was way overcooked & the protein & fats really separated (sorry, I’m a chef too). The ono was delicious. The shrimp was good, & you get about 3 per taco. The Mai tai was good, as were the other rum, tequila, & bourbon drinks so said our group. Go for the view, stay for the affordable fast drink service. Also, if you are sitting closest to the street/shrubbery, tear a maraschino cherry in half & leave it on the bar in front of you & you’ll have a green visitor.

Awesome beach side bar with a great view of the ocean for tropical drinks! 🍹The Shark Attack, the strawberry piña colada, and some pineapple drink were all very delicious. Some hilarious geckos provided entertainment as well.

An amazing little bar with great views. Bar staff is super friendly and you can tell they like their jobs, which reflect on good ownership. Worth a stop if you need something refreshing while you shop. Jasmine is the best bartender I've met on the island yet.

The best place to people watch. The counter overlooking the ocean has geckos everywhere trying to lick up any sugar. A restaurant no longer, but if you are starving to death you can get a hot dog or wings.

A random stop for a drink walking back to the cruise ship, turned into a few hours hanging out with some drinks and wings. Cole was running the show solo, but he was on the ball the whole time. Between bartending, making the food (wings or hotdogs) and shooting the breeze he made it look like child's play. If you're going to try the wings we'd recommend the Monkey Lotion sauce. It's a blend of two of the flavours and it's delicious. We loved the Tangelo Cider...it was crisp, fruity, and most importantly.... refreshing. The fresh popcorn at the end made the stop that much better 😁 I'd definitely recommend Da Shark Shack if you're visiting this side of the island. You won't be disappointed. Reminds me of the drinks only pubs in Ireland...but warmer lol Cheers

Fun chill spot to enjoy and good priced cocktail. It reminds me of an island dive bar with stunning Ocean views. The staff is quirky and funny. The decor is out there, making the spot fun. We stopped here twice during our week long stay enjoying misc beers and mock tails. I ordered the chili garlic wings one day, which made for decent bar food. Must visit while in Kailua

Great place with great drinks and great people. Our server was friendly and fun, she had us run across the street try to catch a picture of us getting splashes by a wave so they could ring the bell! My pina colada was refreshing and tasty, and the cute little geckos were having a good time with us too. The vibes were great.

Stopped in for a few drinks while exploring the area. Very friendly place, good service and open air right across the street from the ocean. Open later than most places in town and the prices are reasonable.

Awesome food. Unique taco called “Da Great White” was something I had never had before and was so good. Ono was cooked perfectly. Great location and lots of geckos around for entertainment!

No nonsense bar with great spicy wings and friendly service. Amazing view. Still have to come back for the cocktails and hot dog. Edit: didn't have the hot dog but cocktails were tasty

This was our favorite place to drink at when we came to Kona. The drinks were good and the view was awesome. Bartenders were super cool and fun to talk with. Definitely come here and enjoy sitting outside with the lizards! They have wings and hotdogs for food also, we didnt try them but heard the wings were yummy. Popcorn is there to snack on too!

Didn’t order food but nice staff and great views on the late afternoon to watch the sunset and people watch. We just stopped for a beer (or 2) 😂. Friendly Geckos live in the adjacent bushes so if you sit at street level they may beg for food but not sure if they want it ☺️🦎

Great chill spot right on the strip in Kona! Super friendly staff on hand to make you feel you’re in the tropic’s! Cold frosty pints of local beer along with some tasty wings!

Nice spot to hit up after hours for drinks and wings. The bar tender was nice and friendly. The wings were good. The kitchen is closed after 9 pm (I believe), so wings are your only option. They're prepared by the bar tender.

This restaurant/bar was our favourite place for dinner and drinks in Kona. It’s on the waterfront, food is good and the drinks are excellent. On top the prices are quite reasonable and the overall atmosphere is great. Highly recommended for a fun evening with good company.

Best bar on the big island. Great bar geckos. Topnotch staff. Amazing sunset spot (and nearby delicious shave ice).

Stopped for a few drinks our first night here. Drinks were great but we felt a bit ignored by the bartender when we first sat down. Craig turned the experience around after chatting with him for awhile. One thing to note: They stop serving food around 8pm so ignore the sign that says kitchens open.

Come for da drinks because they are so well done. Spot is great for people watching at anytime, but the sunsets are the star. Love that it has this local bar feeling.

Dude…your in Hawaii…and you are craving the absolute best ever piña colada…not sweet…not chunky…but just the right amount of coconut…like a boozy coconut milkshake…then THIS IS THE PLACE! Trust me…totally the bomb!! And if you sit out front feed the geckos your cherry!!! So it’s a drink and a show!! Will be back tomorrow!!! And the next day…and the next!! You get my drift!

Cute place in the centre of Kailua-Kona. Good selection of beer and spirits. Excellent view of the Pacific Ocean. Could become a regular! 🤔🙂

We had guests visiting and they said " let's go to Da Shark Shack " and I said what the heck is that, LOL We sat at the bar with the most awesome bar tender Craig... He was making the best drinks and the food was amazing!!! My husband had the shrimp bites, I had the hamburger and guests had the chicken quesadilla, it was so good and the chips and salsa... they fry up their own tortilla chips and put a secret seasoning on them, Craig would not give up the secret Hehe. Great fun atmosphere, Loved it and we will be back for sure Mahalo Craig!! You Da Best

Amazing view, amazing people and most of all amazing fish tacos. This is definitely the spot to come to. We have been here three times in less than a week because the food and people 💗
