While booking this event I couldn't help but realize how expensive this event was, specially for a family of four (two adults, two children 8 and 10.) Nonetheless, I was booking for the experience considering that this would probably be a "Once in a lifetime experience" and that it was! The staff were all very welcoming and courteous including our assigned guide. The experience was good in terms of interacting with the dolphins; in our case daughter and mother dolphin alternated. It's very easy to fall in love with them. The dolphins are treated very well and their decision to participate or take a "dolphin recess" as it's called, is respected. Time spent with the dolphins was hindered due to a couple's late arrival and being added to our group. This took away some valuable time. Although we had the opportunity to interact with our dolphin, my wife and I did not get to swim with them. My children and the other couple did. Then there is the photo situation where they charge a hefty price for either a package, individual or digital bundle, or prints. At almost $300 per person including tax, I feel that at this price you should at least get a souvenir photo. Don't hold them to the actual 45 minutes because you may be disappointed at the amount of time you actually get to spend with the dolphins. I booked for the experience and my children really enjoyed it. This is my perspective on the event and my personal experience. I leave it up to you.

First off, be forewarned, it’s expensive. For three people and pictures it was close to $800. But, as a father, I’d pay anything to see my kiddos and wife smile the way they did. The education was great, the experience was once in a life time, and appreciation for these mammals has grown deeply within the family. My one con is this: I tried to grab pics with my telephoto lens while my family participated, but the Dolphin Quest photographer was either blocking the shot, the trainer had my family face away from the green knoll so I couldn’t get great a shot. I believe it’s all staged, but I also understand it’s a business.

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. The area that they have for the dolphins to live in is SO small and l should not be legal. They have no room to be free and swim and it’s ridiculous that there is so much room for everything else on this property except space for animals that should be living in such a large body of water. Please do not support this activity as the wellbeing of these animals are more important than spending $200 for 10 minutes with them.

It's expensive, but we felt worth doing with our 5 kids, and it was! Ali was our dolphin expert. She was so fun and knowledgeable. She was so patient answering our kids' questions. We met grandma, mama and baby dolphins. Very hands on experience. We learned and had fun as a family. Definitely recommend.

They removed my review from months ago so I’ll go ahead and say it again coming here is not worth it! Their website needs some updating first of all and they need much friendlier staff. I did the 15 min experience with my toddler and there was another lady with her child doing the experience as well. When it came time to taking the photos I was right next to the person taking the photos and walking over with my toddler to pose with the dolphin when she stopped me and told the other lady to come forward first instead. I felt discriminated and uncomfortable afterwards. If you want to experience swimming do it in Cancun where you can swim with them for 30mins for only $150 whereas this experience I had with my toddler was the same price and rushed. We couldn’t even dip our toes in the water either. It was a waste of money and time. Waited more to do the experience than what the experience actually lasted.

Daughter attended the Kids Quest session in the morning and had a blast. Time in the water was adequate. There is also a small education room and showers. Bring towels. The photo package was a bit pricey but well worth it.

This was truly a bucket-list adventure! Swimming with dolphins has been a dream of mine since I was a small child, and I was so very pleased to find a place to do it that's humane and ethical, with a focus on education and conservation. Seeing the bond between the dolphins and trainers was heart-warming, and getting up close and personal with these beautiful animals was an experience that won't soon be forgotten.

There are no words to describe the sublime experience of spending a short time in the water with dolphins. The education for me, the personal connection with such an intelligent creature, and the pure joy of the staff. The attention to safety and protocols for respecting the dolphins was even more rewarding for me than I knew possible. I cannot wait to come back and do it again.

Unforgettable dolphin encounter for our whole family! Our son has special needs and they were absolutely incredible at accommodating him every step of the way. He LOVES marine life and meeting a dolphin, touching it, swimming with it was one of the happiest moments we've ever seen with him. We will never forget it and neither will he! Also, highly recommend getting the photo package in advance as it is less expensive that way (we got about 100 professional high resolution photos that very day).

The entire process from booking to being with the dolphins to downloading photos went smoothly. Kim helped us over the phone when we made the reservation. Natalie and Maddie were our guides. They were so kind, professional, and friendly. I felt touched how they took care of my father because he has hearing loss and doesn't speak English. Being with the dolphins in the shallow water has transformed him. His fear about being in water was gone. I've never seen him smile so much! My mum felt so much joy, she kept on saying "I love you"! to our guides, and the dolphins. We appreciate the photographer's care to capture memorable moments. The staff definitely cared about the well-being of those dolphins. We would highly recommend the experience.

I will always want MORE with dolphins. However, this is the best one I've done so far. You can't really "swim" with dolphins like before because they are all protected. But I did have an excellent, they even have a cuddle pose!

We did both the Wee Tots experience and the Encounter Deluxe. Both were fantastic. The trainers were great. We got to interact with 2-3 dolphins in each experience. They taught about dolphins, let us do some of the signals, and allowed for a lot of interactions. The loss of one star is because of the cost of photos. They take tons of great photos, but charge $155 for the digital package. I feel like that is very expensive, especially after paying almost $300 per person on the deluxe encounter. Also, the Wee Tots encounter is half the time, but they still charge the full amount for pictures. Other than that, it was a great experience.

My wife did this several years ago and absolutely loved it. It's a 45 minute intimate encounter with the dolphins. This time we took the grandkids and just watched others. Small groups of 5 have 1 dolphin and a trainer in which they talk about the dolphins. Everyone can pet the dolphin, etc. It's fun to watch. Drawback is that it's spendy. $285 per person for 45 minutes. Kids are like $210 for same time. Great experience though!

There was only room for two of us so my wife and 14-year-old son enjoyed swimming with the dolphin and communicating with her. The highlight was the swim near the end while holding on to the dolphin.

Booked the encounter for my wife and young daughter while me and the boys went zip lining. They absolutely loved it!! My daughter is hooked on dolphins now. Truly a once in a lifetime experience. Great photos made the photo package worth every penny.

Can't believe I just swam with dolphins!!!! Just was recently on my honeymoon with my new wife. The staff was awesome and the trainers were very nice and really had a lot of knowledge on these beautiful aquatic mammals. Highly recommend visiting this place for a once and a life time opportunity to swim with these amazing dolphins!!!

These type of experiences are rare and extremely precious when you find them. Swimming with playful dolphins alongside smart and charismatic trainers was an absolute blast. It's something you shouldn't try if on-site.

What an amazing experience with Dolphin Quest. We had the opportunity to learn about and interact with three different dolphins during our time there. Our "guide" / trainer  Charley is amazing. If I could give 10 stars, I would! This is a must do adventure.

Took my daughter to the kids quest and it was amazing. They had a small group of only 4 kids total and the each got to interact with the dolphins as a group as well as individually. The trainers were friendly, engaging, patient and great with the kids. The dolphins really seemed to enjoy showing off and splashing the kids. The dolphins were free to move away and avoid the kids if they wanted but they willingly engaged with them which was great! It was confusing at first, maybe I missed the info on the website, but Dolphin Quest is part of the Hilton hotel/resort so you get to Dolphin Quest by going through the lobby. Staff is helpful and will provide the directions from the lobby

Greatest dolphin interaction! I’ve had the pleasure to have a dolphin interactions at Sea World, in San Diego, CA and at Discovery Cove, Orlando, FL. Dolphin Quest, Hilton Waikoloa was an amazing experience overall and my fiancée’s first time to swim with dolphins! Cutting to end, she loved it! Definitely recommend booking your experience with Dolphin Quest! Here’s why… The friendly phone call, the morning of, confirming our reservation began the excitement of the day. Arriving to the Dolphin Quest area, at the resort was beautiful and welcoming. The entire staff was friendly, engaging, and informative. For all the animal lovers out there, there was a very big emphasis that the dolphins were happy and not forced to do anything they didn’t want to. You can really feel that sense while you’re there. Great job, Dolphin Quest Waikoloa! Highly recommend!
