I
booked
a
private
room
for
3
nights
recently,
it
was
small
and
basic
but
very
clean
and
more
than
adequate
for
my
needs.
It
was
located
on
the
back
side
of
the
building,
a
plus
since
the
hostel
is
located
right
on
the
waterfront
main
drag.
Free
off
street
parking
was
included.
Check-in
was
smooth
and
the
two
staff
who
greeted
and
checked
me
in
were
courteous
and
helpful,
however
beyond
that
my
interactions
with
the
other
employees
in
the
front
office
were
just
ok.
Not
rude,
just
indifferent.
The
"quiet
hours"
were
not
enforced
and
the
noise
coming
from
the
front
office
could
be
disruptive
if
you're
a
light
sleeper.
There's
also
a
resident
rooster
who
was
crowing
at
all
hours
of
the
night.
I
don't
know
if
this
is
something
the
hostel
can
fix
or
not
(
does
the
bird
belong
to
them
or
one
of
the
neighbors?),
but
either
way
it
is
something
to
take
note
of.
The
experience
overall
was
definitely
more
positive
than
negative:
a
private
room
at
the
best
price
I
could
find
in
Kona,
a
comfortable
bed,
and
a
nice
kitchen
facility
for
meal
preparation.
If
you're
a
pet
person
you'll
love
the
two
resident
cats,
super
friendly
and
love
hanging
out
with
the
guests.
