An absolutely incredible dining experience! My wife and I were blown away with the ocean view. We came at the perfect time 6pm. The sun was setting shortly into our dinner. We took beautiful photos of us on the sunset. The food was spectacular! The service was top notch. Parking is a little walk away but not bad. We spent about $75 a person for drinks, appetizer, and main dish. This was a great value for the experience.

This place has a beautiful view in all directions. I chose the vegan options of the hummus plate with extra pitas and a side of hash browns. It was real good. We also had reservations. I don't know if gas required but we did it.

An amazing dining experience by the ocean at Mala Tavern; a restaurant that specializes in seafood, upscale eateries, and friendly service. To begin, the restaurant has beautiful hanging lights outside so when our party dined outside after sunset, it was still aesthetic and provided a relaxing vibe. The service was exceptional with our waiter Joe doing an outstanding job. The other staff members were diligent and did their tasks with efficiency and professionalism. With regards to the food, the taste was out of this world and the various seafood dishes reminded me of the sea. They had a flavourful profile and a good balance of flavours. We had the "Taste of Hawai'i" dessert after to share which was amazing too. If I could recommend one item, the taro bread is easily missed, but don't forget about it. Order it and you'll find out why. Overall, if you're not on a budget vacation, this upscale, by-the-ocean restaurant is definitely worth a shot.

This restaurant was recommended by someone we met while whale watching. It didn't disappoint. The 1-1/3lb whole fish (we shared) was excellent. It sat over sweet mashed potatoes, shitake mushrooms & veggies. The service was exceptional from everyone there. They have a great team working there. They overheard us say that we were on our honeymoon, and every person, from employee to manager, took the time to congratulate us and thank us for dining at their restaurant. I can't forget to mention the delucious taro bread & butter! A must! Wow! Thank you, Mala, for a great dining experience. ☆☆☆☆☆

Definitely the best restaurant that I went to in maui. I went to five different restaurants in 5 days. On the west coast. This one had a beautiful view as most of them had. But the waitress was super pretty. And the food was really good. And the portion size was better than other restaurants.

We had brunch here. The view from the patio is stunning with the black rocks and waves crashing against them. The food tasted good. However, my two friends had lose bowels after they ate. I had the Moco Loco and didn't get sick at all.

Fabulous oceanside restaurant. Incredible views with sailboats, honus, sometimes a monk seal. Great food and terrific service - I especially like the pita wraps and fish sandwiches for lunch. Great hummus plate too with added roasted chick peas. Street parking but dealable. I eat at Mala's as often as possible. Highly recommend.

We made reservations a week in advanced and it was well worth it! We got the clams for an appetizer and the broth was delicious. It was a great dining experience with breathtaking views!

Amazing! The chef truly knows how to make the perfect steak and the staff were so wonderful! We celebrated a birthday and got a sweet note at the table and the GM and other staff came by to say happy birthday! Chef brought out our meals and introduced each item. Truly amazing. We had no issues finding a reservation for the sunset dinner!

Incredible views and delicious, fresh seafood. The fish sandwich was really incredible, we enjoyed it blackened with a nice spicy tartar. The fries were amazing as well. My only complaint was that the scent was quite fishy and distinct, but you got used to it easily.

Came here a little before happy hour and was able to have their mimosas - one watermelon, one pineapple - which they were so fresh and refreshing! Then we did the happy hour menu for food- and it did not disappoint! Their Hawaiian Taro sweetbread with honey butter has been my favorite thing I've eaten in Maui! The flatbread and coconut shrimp were also delicious. Very satisfied with the food and atmosphere here right by the water.

Perfect spot to enjoy a late afternoon cocktail and bite to eat. The bar overlooks the ocean and has relaxing island charm. The drinks were refreshing and the blackened fish sandwich was delicious!! It's a hidden gem!!! Live music only added to the already Maui Island ambiance!!

Went back here the second time during happy hour just because my husband loved the oyster shooters. The views, the live music, the service and people.. everything is excellent. They gave us an extra plate of malasadas because it was my birthday. How sweet!

My wife and I had our first dinner on Maui at Māla Tavern and boy did that set the bench mark for the reat of our trip in Hawaii. The sunset views were absolutely stunning. The service was great and we loved our server's recommendations for both food and cocktails.

Just came back home from vacationing in Maui. And this place was recommend by locals. They did not disappoint my wife and I had an amazing experience. Food was great…views were spectacular! Service was absolutely top notch. Our server Lisa was incredible she made it even more memorable. I will definitely come here again one day. Thank you!!

An all around good choice! Went with my wife for breakfast and truly enjoyed ourselves. This place sits right on the water and provides more of those amazing Maui views that you should be getting accustomed to at this point. We did a bottle of Mimosas that lasted far longer than I expected for a party of two. The sandwich I got was amazing and my wife thought Benedict was okay. Our server was top notch. Ambiance: 4.5/5 Food: 4/5 Drinks: 5/5 Price: 4.5/5 Service: 6/5, giving a bonus because my server did a really solid job. I forget her name, but she was on it. Overall: ~4.7/5

Beautiful views, delicious food, attentive staff and excellent service! Tyler was so helpful and knowledgeable regarding entrees preparation and suggestions, as if he were preparing the food himself. And don’t overlook the espresso martini made with rum! One of a kind! Super impressive. Second time here and just keep getting more and more impressed. If you are in Maui, don’t miss this gem!
