The only place my husband has ever said he "missed" since we left. I debated on the review bc I kinda want to keep this gem hidden ;). The property mgmt was very responsive. Location was central to all the areas you want to visit. The back yard area is the only thing that separates you from the beach/ocean. It was an awesome experience. Home away from home.

I love Aloha Aku's one bedroom suites that face the beautiful lawn overlooking the beach. It is truly heaven on earth. However, I have mixed feelings about the Ohana Suite, which is the 2 bedroom property behind the main building. You still get to use the gorgeous property and amenities such as the hot tub, etc., but I must admit it's hard to settle with only a view of the parking lot knowing the other rooms look out to the magnificent trees and ocean beyond. The serenity of this view is what makes Aloha Aku so special, and without that, the Ohana Suite is just a somewhat outdated and dark 2 bedroom. Also, this time, the queen sheets they gave us was so piled up that it felt as if I were sleeping on sand. So while Aloha Aku is a heavenly property, I think their website needs to provide a more detailed warning of the positioning of the Ohana Suite. Also, a little bit of updates on the basics, such as sheets, would be welcome.

I loved staying at Aloha AKU for my father's 70th birthday. The staff was incredible (shoutout to Teres and team for being fabulous!), the accommodations were top notch, there were plenty of extras (kayaks, paddleboards, snorkels, etc) to keep us busy for days. The property is beautiful, nestled between some lush wetlands and the beach, and it's close enough to walk to restaurants and shops. It was the perfect balance between being private/secluded and close to everything you might want or need. I would love to stay here again, and would highly recommend it to anyone planning a trip to Maui. Beautiful location with fantastic staff - I don't think I could have found a better combo. Everyone was very welcoming and accommodating, and you can't beat those sunset views!

What a hidden gem. We really loved our stay at Aloha Aku. This place is private and relaxed and just a short walk to great coffee and delicious food. The staff here are so friendly and helpful, we were even lucky enough to meet the owner. Staying here provides you use of all their equipment (kayaks, paddle boards, bikes, snorkel equipment, laundry, etc) and we used it all. Every morning we woke early and walked the beach where we saw waking sea turtles and monk seals. We drank coffee on our patio watching the ocean, had drinks at sunset with the ducks and had the hot tub to our selves every night. It truly is a special place. I cannot leave this review without mentioning the best part.. the bed. WOW. I wish I had checked the mattress because I haven't slept that good in a long time.

The suites open directly into a small pool and hot tub with a great view of the beach. The night sky is AMAZING! Wonderful grass lawn before a great beach, perfect for morning walks. 1 block away from a grocery store and great dinning at Nalu's. Owners are responsive and very nice. Great amenities of dishwasher, full kitchen, and a fridge with free breakfast fruit, yogurt, and drinks. Fantastic experience!

While the "suite" we had was roomy enough, the access & layout was a bit odf and not well soundproofed. So why four stars? Because the little jacuzzi plunge-pools were great, the beach almost empty most of the time, the bay very shallow & calm with a modest number of sea turtles (tho' no fish), and the location pretty quiet and away from dense development.

We took my family to celebrate our 50th. It was the best place we could have picked. Spotless clean. Large units. You can borrow equipment. It is secure and safe. The beach is beautiful and enjoyed turtles everyday. The staff is so so nice and helpful. The children in the group had a ball. I just can't say enough about Aloha Aku.

Our stay at Aloha Aku was fantastic. The Inn was clean and well maintained. The view from our patio was spectacular. There were very few people on the beach which made it a great place to relax. We were even able to see a sea turtle relaxing there one evening. Mahalo!

Incredible location, views, staff, clean, essentially a private beach, excellent communication and suggestions, parking included, full kitchen with plates/utensils, proximity to airport, Lahaina, and Wailea. Can't say enough good things about our experience. If you want to be pampered and have big fancy pools, not the place for you. If you want peace, quiet, included amenities, quick access to a private beach, incredible views, and location to restaurants and stores, this is the place. AND a better value. HIGHLY RECOMMEND

Best place ever! If you want to be close to the almost private beach and not have a lot of people to contend with, this is the place! And it has a lot of amenities. Char, Gary, and Linda are wonderful hosts. Would recommend it highly. We'll be back. Only place we will come to from now on. Beds are very comfortable, the kitchen is well stocked, has a very nice laundry room, and cable has all the best channels. Great BBQ area, made some killer steaks! Very private drive way, that is next to a wildlife sanctuary. Ocean views are killer. Aloha AKU is a very special place. You won't regret it. 1
