This is one of the best Indian restraunts I have been to outside of India. Uncle Sonny is amazing and very intuitive. My mom couldn't decide and he chose for her; it's her favorite Indian dish so far. Amazing spice and perfect by your level. My mom got a 3 and that was great for flavor without too much spice, by her preference. I got a 10 and I was pleasantly surprised. Better yet was the pickle Uncle Sonny gave extra. It made my lips tingle it was so good! A great place for those who don't want too much spice AND those who really want it. Uncle is able to level the spice appropriate. Trust him. All of us were happy. From my wimpy mother, older grandfather and spicy sister.

One of the best Indian food I've had in Hawaii so far! The staff was super knowledgeable about the different types of curry bases they use, and how they are authentically made. He went above and beyond & gave us a blind taste test before deciding on which dish to choose. The prices are also very fair. Highly recommended - this place should be rated above a 4 and it's unfortunately some reviews gave this place 1 star due to them not being open. Staffing shortages are a real thing since Covid - so let's exercise some patience with local businesses.

Excellent food and taste. Spice levels are as same as you select and gives the feel of Indian food in a foreign land. On top of it, customer service is very very great!!😎👍🏼

The TV is blasting in the background when you call in so loud you can't hear a thing, and your order will always take longer than they say it will. Also the customer service isn't great. I once had the guy literally walk away from me in the middle of my order and talk to his friend and help another customer. Also their hours are very sporadic. They are randomly closed all the time. Very annoying They have a lot to work on as a business. But the food is fantastic.

Fantastic little place - expect the same great taste from himalayan kitchen (as the owner's bought India cafe). Friendly service. Recommended!

BEST meal I've had on the island, reasonably priced, fresh ingredients, perfect curry flavor. If you love curry, you'll love the food here. It did take an hour for our food, but they were slammed with costumers. Well worth the wait, and the left overs... Wow, just as good as it was fresh. If you want some pep in your step and your craving curry. Look no further.

Was there a week ago. Makes me puke when I think about the food. We ordered chicken ticka masala, butter chicken, chana masala, naan, and paratha. I would say it was the worst indian food I had in my 30 years of life. This restaurant is giving a bad name to indian food. Its run by local students which i think are given instructions on how to make food. Dont think owner or any indian chef manages it.

OMG what did I just try. This has to be the worst indian food out of all indian food i tried in at least 10 countries. Im from NJ but we through away food like this. I can't believe they have a 3 star rating. There naan was all uncooked I felt I was eating raw atta(flour). Chicken was bland and must be cooked at least 1 week prior and left frozen. There parantha was also uncooked. That is all I have to say. T

The food is bad. Really bad. No flavor and even the rice is all dried and tasted stale.

What can I say the smell, the humidity, and the cleanliness is not very pleasing. Could be a really good and quick option for curry if they cared about their image, location, and tastes more.

My family and I are fairly new to Indian cuisine. At the time we visited, dinning in wasn't available, only take-out & phone orders. When we drove up to the restaurant, we could clearly see that they were busy because there was a line of people putting in their orders & another line of people waiting to receive their orders.(That's one indication that they must be good, right..?!) When it was our time to place our order, the Gentleman greeted us and asked what we would like. I told him that we weren't familiar with most of the stuff on the menu and asked if he could please explain to us what was what. The Gentleman explained that everything is made-to-order and is "customized " to your preference of spice level. He was very kind and patient and actually took the time to explain everything we needed to know, despite the fact that there were lines of people. And, if I'm not mistaken, I think it was just he and another cook running the whole show that night. After about 45 minutes, our dinner was ready. But it all worked out, because we were able to make a quick Target run in the mean time! Over all, our experience was awesome here! Awesome service! Awesome food! If there had to be a negative comment from us, it would have to be that they weren't open for dine in. Other than that, we'll definitely be going back! We'll make sure to call in our order, though.

Deliciously prepared and filling curry 😋 I had the fresh fish Madras curry, mango lassi & my partner had the chicken Tikka plate lunch. Scrumptious and well worth the price! Lovely staff as well!

This is a great cozy place to get delicious flavorful food. I had the chicken curry plate with the yellow jasmine rice and coconut vegetable medley- yummy! We also had the cheesy naan bread, garlic naan bread and samosas. The staff at this restaurant were so accommodating, helpful and friendly. Sitting happens out in front of the establishment.

This place is DBA Himalayan Kitchen. I'm not sure why it says India Cafe. Excellent service even though it's take-out only. The cashier is soooo friendly. Food was great, especially the naan! We will be back to try more. I think it's best to call in your order beforehand as the wait is pretty long.

I love Indian food and this is excellent! I’m new to this side of the island, and I am so thankful to find this place!

1st time having Indian food it was great! The wait to get the food was a little long due to them being understaffed. The customer service was great. The menu has a lot of different options to choose from. There’s no dine in, only take out. The butter chicken with white rice and garlic naan was delicious. Definitely coming back again.

The food here is fantastic for being on an Island with a lack of ethnic Indians. Easily in the top w BBB three for best Indian restaurants on the island. To top it of the owner/chef is a very pleasant person. Source: I am Indian ;)

Great place! I recently moved here from San Diego and was missing my favorite Indian place. We found this place and it's really good. My go to do far is the chana masala. I get a 6 on the spicy level and it's a perfect amount of heat.

Best Indian in Hawaii. If I could I would go here everyday, but as it is, I go at least once a week usually twice. Nothing better and they have never ever messed up my order. Best place up get some exquisite food.

This restaurant has some very tasty items but maybe expanding the kitchen a little and adding workers could make for a little less waiting time although the food is very good customers could lose their appetite with those 1-2 hour wait times for pick up orders.

Absolutely loved this place!!! Delicious curry and literally one of the best Naan breads I had. Big pieces of freshly made, crispy Naan bread for a low price. My favorite part was that the cook customized the veggies for us and did exactly what we asked for! We both are dairy free. Amazing customer service!

Best Indian food we have ever tried on any islands of Hawaii. Being surrounded by mounts, you truly feel like you are eating that tasty naan and spicy curry made in the heart of Himalayas. If weather permits to seat outside, make sure you do that! I know Indian food is good when someone makes Palak paneer the traditional way, this place was amazing with four different curries we tried on two different occasions. A++++

Oh my goodness this food is delicious!!! This was my first time having a vegan meal and it was so good! I would take a picture of my food but there isn’t much of it left lol

Great flavors. Very slow if you eat in. Every Time I order Chicken Biriyani and Every Time I ask for Riota and EVERY TIME they forget the Riota (yogurt), this dish is chalky and dry without the best part Riota (yogurt).

The samosas are amazing! Great place for vegan or vegetarian options that aren't imitation meats or a simple dish of rice. Our wait was a little long, but is was well worth it for fresh and delicious food. Love!

The Himchuli Chat is good, I would get again. We got confused due to bad directions to the restaurant. Ordered food from Himalayan Kitchen but directions took us here. Also, make sure you phone order in because it takes a while to get your food.

This place is amazing. We come from Chicago where we have an entire section of the city with authentic indian food and this place is better than most of them. The customer service is suberb and you feel lime guests in their home. Would highly recommend to anyone!!
