Best Mexican food I've had on the island! I can recommend the street tacos and #5 combination platter. The owner has been in business for 20 years and the food is so good. His generator ran out of gas and he still cooked using propane and a flash light!

Old food truck run by what looked like a father (super nice) and son. Food was great and so were the prices considering how expensive ingrediants are right now in Hawaii. Just 6 min from the beach and 3 min from the main part of town. We tried the Taquitos, Spicy Burrito and Fish Tacos. Not disappointed with any of it though the burrito was the best. Not to be overlooked or under appreciated was salsa. Great flavor and just the right amount of heat. Want to come here again though not sure we will he back in the area. One thing to note is that they are CASH ONLY so come prepared.

This food truck has authentic Mexican food, street tacos, and the salsa is like Mama made it. I recommend you give Diego a call or just stop by.

Unfortunately the least flavorful mexican food I've had so far on the island. Ordered the spicy pork burrito and not one aspect of it was spicy, only the side salsa they gave had any flavor and spice. The pork was also really overcooked where each bite the whole piece came out of the burrito. The chorizo street tacos had a ton of potato which felt like they were way overpriced for so much potato in them. Really disappointing for the price especially. The staff was the only upside.

Absolutely the best Mexican food on the island. You WILL NOT regret or waste your money. The carnitas are the best as well as the beef. The guy will give you the best aloha experience you’ve had. My forever Mexican spot.

Maria Bonita's Lunchwagon has the most authentic and inexpensive Mexican food in Kailua. The fish taco and street carne asada taco plates with rice and beans are our absolute fave. Call and order about 15 to 20 minutes before you get there. Food is made to order and delicious! Take out and dinner only brah.

Had a great experience at the lunchwagon! The food was delicious and the staff was extremely nice. Just remember that it is cash only! Took me weeks to try this place since they were closed for a little while but now they're back open and cooking up some amazing food 😁

Thank you so much for being my favorite place on island to grab a burrito. It is even worth the drive from kaneohe and back! Burritos are hand crafted to perfection with love and care by one of the hardest working man I know. Thank you!!

This review is JUST FOR the beef tongue tacos. 5 stars, no question. They're super tender and flavorful. His salsas need tweaking, but this review is not for the salsas. *CASH ONLY PLACE

If you like Authentic Mexican Look no more. Diego will not disappoint. The food is amazing and so is Diego. Super friendly and helpful and obviously passionate about cooking. This was our first time but won't be the last. In Kailua next to Oneawa Market and Walgreens. 12/05/2023.

Ordered the Maria special tacos, fish tacos and spicy pork burritos and they were all fresh, well seasoned, and tasty. The owner was really friendly and even took the time to have a quick chat with us despite being a one man band . Would highly recommend!

Best Mexican food! We stopped by here and grabbed some tacos and a quesadilla to eat by the beach and the food was incredible. Extremely reasonably priced, but make sure to bring cash!

This was THE BEST Mexican food I’ve had on the island. My first time eating here tonight, and it was an amazing experience! His attitude and his business really represents the Aloha spirit. Will most def be our go to place from now on!!

Hands down one of the best Mexican places on the island, I'm from Chicago where there's arguably the best Mexican food in the US and Maria's made me feel like I was back in the city. Tacos MADE RIGHT. The only thing I didn't expect was that it was cash only, there is a ATM located in steak rave. If anyone comes to visit try the pork taco. Also ask for barabacoa.

My family and I have only been here once and we will be back with our friend's and the rest of our family! The food was great, all homemade and fresh! We had the asads tacos and carnitas tacos! The salsa had the right amount of heat! We heard the lengua was great, so I will try that next! Best Mexican in Kailua so far! The owner is a great guy as well very nice!

Best Mexican food I've tried out here! Ingredients are good and taste great all together. Delicious burritos and enchiladas. The spicy pork burrito is a favorite--the pico de gallo adds to the flavor and texture of the carnitas so nicely. Definitely our spot to get Mexican food!

If you want good Mexican food in Kailua, go to Maria Bonita Lunchwagon. The owner runs his shop all day in Chinatown and then works all evening in Kailua. He is a machine and his food is legit. Do yourself a favor and eat great food!!! (Btw, the wagon is between Timmy Toms and the lumber yard. North side of the road.)

My favorite Mexican spot in Kailua. I’ve ordered different menu items and been satisfied with each visit.
