This was a great Assaggio's! The food was delicious with pretty sizeable portions. I definitely recommend trying it what's on the daily specials if you have a chance. They change every so often, and it's always nice to try something different. My wife finally didn't complain about how the steak was prepared (yes, she's VERY picky)! The service was top notch! Our server David was very friendly and helpful. When an ingredient from the bar want available for a drink, the bartender was nice enough to come to it table, explain the situation and offer an alternative. All-in-all, a great experience if you're around the area. Parking can be a bit challenging, but it'll give you an excuse to walk around and explore the area.

Ordered first night Assagio opended AND all our favorites were available (takeout) and just as delicious as we remembered. Ordered again first week opened and inside just as busy and well staffed! Jay was terrific helping with my takeout for a party of 8 from the order to helping loading my car!

I always go to Assagio in Koko Marina even though I live in Kailua... My family wish to go to the one in Kailua tonight so I went for it for the very first time. Very nice decor and friendly hostess. Our server names Xochitl was very good. Her timing from taking our orders to refill our drinks, asking us if we would like some dessert were all perfect 👌 👌 👌 Ok so. ...about foods now. ..my family loved their dishes. Carbonara spaghetti, chicken saltimbocca and minestrone soup. I always order the same dish at the Koko Marina which is "Chef's Special Filet mignon and shrimp scampi" with Saute Broccoli. It wasn't anything like the one in Koko Marina. ..meat was chewy and hard. Everything was salty but my family told me to let it go so I ate some. (The rest of that are all for my family. )I was very disappointed with my dishes but I probably will try another dish at this location next time.

Very nice server! Thanks Celina and for your tips about where to watch a great sunset. Wouldn’t recommend and as foodies, not worth the time or money. The food was not great. Chicken cacciatore was served with 5 “thighs” … more like drumsticks and a mound of pasta. Okay sauce but nothing extraordinary. Husband got med rare peppercorn steak…it was barely that and the veggies were warm and almost raw. Environment was very dated and oddly quiet (granted, it was a Wednesday at 5:30).

One of my go to places to have a decent sit down meal in Kailua, Assagio does not disappoint. Their menu has a good amount of vegetarian, meat and fish dishes to choose from. The service is always good and there is lots of free parking in the lot next to the restaurant.

Dinner was really good! Our server David was very warm and friendly. Throughout the restaurant there are beautiful paintings adding to the experience. If you visit make sure to try the coconut crème brûlée!

Fast and Friendly Services. Food Portions are huge. Food was tasty and delicious. Homemade Ceasar Salad in a bowl, Mixed by our waitress was enough for two people.

We have been here many times. The wait staff is always amazing! I had fish picata with veggies it was really delicious. We also pick up take out from here. The take out is perfect every time!

3.5 stars The ravioli was good, nice cheese melt. The marinara sauce was neatly done. The broccoli was Al dente, could have been done a bit more to match the boil level of the ravioli itself but good overall.

Great food and service. The fresh bread is always great! A touch let down by the anchovy pasta. Don't get me wrong it was still delicious. But I would call the dish fried garlic pasta with a hint of anchovy.

My husband and I ordered takeout from here tonight. We had the antipasto (cold), eggplant parm and the veal & shrimp piccata. I’ve seen tons of good reviews about this place and I’m sad that we were super disappointed. Eggplant parm was super mushy, the Picatta had two shrimp and overcooked, rubbery veal. Our antipasto was basically all lettuce. And when I looked at the menu on google all of this should have been around $45. It was 100 dollars not including tip. Not sure if it was because we ordered to go or what but sadly we won’t be coming back.

What an excellent venture. These folks make you feel right at home. They make you want to come back time after time. The food was delicious. Make it your next adventure. You won't be disappointed.

I have always given these guys 5 stars in the past but something is going wrong with the management. Tonight was the 4th time that I ordered fish between 6-6:30 in the past week and they have always been out. I give up. Hard to imagine how they could keep running out of fish every day before the rush even begins. So disappointing! They also seem to run out of Broccoli and Zucchini quite often. Never used to be like this in the past. So Sad to see one of my favorite restaurants go downhill like this. Maybe the pandemic has hit them so hard that they can't afford to even buy enough food any longer.

I usually have a great time eating from here. This last visit was not good though. Ordered steak and they forgot the onion and mushroom sauce for the steak. When we called before closing time, I was told there was nothing that could be done. When you pay 180.00 for a family of 4, that is the last thing one wants to hear. Not what I have come to expect

What a joke on Mother's Day. Thanks for ruining dinner tonight. Ordered food at 5pm. Finally was able to pick up food at 945pm. The lies continued for 4 hours. Never again. I know it was super busy but all you had to say was we can't fill your order, sorry. But no instead you just saw $$$$ and continued to lie about the time frame. Thanks for the 33% off tho. I will never again patronize this food establishment in Kailua (buy local, right). You place more value over money than honesty. Good luck in the future, your going to need it after tonight.

Chicken piccata was excellent. Caesar salad was crisp. Bread was incredibly soft.

Yikes! For $70 I expected better. Chicken and shrimp pesto was swimming in sauce and overpowered the meat which was overcooked.The seafood combo was dry and just okay. Nothing special. The calamari appetizer was overcooked and the breading had zero flavor. We won’t be back.

The food is still amazing, the service not so much. Got their early with no reservation, the place was empty and the hostess made a huge deal about squeezing us (there were only 3 occupied tables). Finally got seated, our orders got taken but we waited a long time for water. Our salads were made and our entree was brought out immediately after. They used to allow time in between. Our bill was wrong (they added the next tables food on it. When we left there were maybe 5 occupied tables and a lot of servers standing around.

This place is one of my favorite places to eat in Kailua. Highly recommend if you like Italian food. The atmosphere is great, service is good. And the food is portioned big and very tasty. You have to try the Cesar salad with the homemade dressing that's made right in front of you 👌

The best Italian spot on island

We love the Caesar salad! Can order to-go, they say the Caesar can feed two but we do each get our own. I don't recommend getting it with chicken, it's a breaded cutlet. When you dine-in they make it table-side (or at least they used to, pre-covid) and it's mesmerizing! Would be 5 but I feel the bang-for-your-buck has gone down.

My first time trying this place and it was a horrible experience after spending $90+. The girl working inside literally chased my friend and I down outside and told my friend that her order was actually 2 orders so they had to take some of it back.. DURING A PANDEMIC. But it gets worse. Then she set the bags of food on the sidewalk and rearranged the bags before giving my friend her food back (after having been on the sidewalk) and taking the other bag that had the silverware and parmesan with her back to the restaurant to give to some other customer. It was a salad and appetizer that she took back. Luckily we are safe and do not have COVID but two people's orders from this place were set on the the sidewalk. If you choose to go here for carryout make sure they check your order! Or beware that they will chase you down for extra food! I have NEVER had this experience before in my life and I'm so upset because the food was good.

Love this place! Has always been a favorite of ours! Come to Assaggios for just a nice dinner or for a special occasion. And we are here again tonight! Even though we cannot eat inside it is still our Anniversary , so we will be picking up our dinner and taking it out!! Hopefully they will make our favorite “Spedini” (spelling?) 🥖 w/mozzarella and an anchovy on top for us because it’s no longer on the menu! Lol! Covid-19 won’t be stopping us!

Kind of pricey. Food was pretty good. However, not sure if the prices reflect how good the food was.

I gave this 3 stars because it wasn't poor food but also not spectacular. Our only disappointment was that they were out of fish . Being an Italian restaurant maybe they only keep a limited supply, however it was only 630pm and a Saturday evening. It was more of an upscale atmosphere and service was also polite and professional. Owner came by to check on us and also other tables. He seemed he knew many repeat guests. On a scale of 1-10: Mother rated her Shrimp Scampi as 8. Shrimp were large and dish was not too salty which we encounter at many restaurants. I rate the Chicken Parmigiana as 6, chicken was very tender but lacking enough mozzarella where I wondered if they forgot to put it on. We both decided we would try the restaurant again but not order the same entrees. We both wanted to try the Fish Alla Piccata. We would order the appetizer sauteed brussel sprouts in olive oil topped with Romano cheese again.

After a nice dinner with great staff, we returned to the parking lot. One of your staff come out to the parking lot looking for me. I had inadvertently left my black backpack on the back of my chair!
