One of the largest museums I've come across. To visit the museum one needs to buy the tickets. At the entrance, multiple statues were installed. This is a huge museum and the way they maintained it is awesome. Inside the museum you'll find multiple themes like armory section, dolls, coin section , documents etc. To explore the whole museum around 1-2 hours is required.

Best for Students, Aspirants & History Lovers. It is located in center of city near Jhansi Fort. It will take you in the era of pre independence when Britishers colonised & ruled our nation. You'll find maximum single handed used ornaments, weapons, etc of during Laxmi Bai reign. You may also spot Bundelkhand's traditional life style, folk culture and paitings show cased in gallery. Separate gallery for Coins used in pre and post independence by mughal, Guptas, Mauryas, etc. Buddhism & Jainism sculpture are also conserved in the museum found during 12th century from Lalitpur. Ticket charges: ₹5.00/Person, ₹20.00/Camera Time Required: Minimum 02 to 03 Hours. Keep hovering, Have a good day.

The museum closes at 4:30 PM. I was surprised with the maintenance and the scale of this. It is very beautiful and large museum. Do not miss the murals on the ground floor depicting the life of the queen. The portraits of the queen and other freedom fighters on the ground floor are very beautiful. The museum can be accessed by wheelchair on all the floors. Toilets available and are reasonably clean.

At a distance of 3 km from Jhansi Junction, Rani Jhansi Museum is a museum located inside the Fort of Jhansi. It is one of the important museums in Jhansi and also among the must visit places in Jhansi.. Rani Jhansi Museum or Government Museum is not only gives an insight in to the history and heritage of Jhansi but also throws light on the history and culture of the Bundelkhand region. Dedicated to Rani Lakshmi Bai of Jhansi, this museum has an exclusive gallery on Rani Laxmi Bai and is a unique attraction. This section consists of lots of her armoury items and photographs, depicting her life since childhood. It is also an important source to know about the life and times of the Chandela rulers. In fact, the picture gallery of the Gupta period is one of the highlights of this museum. Apart from that, the museum also houses numerous terracotta structures, bronze statues, manuscripts, paintings and coins. There is a separate gallery for weapons, which has an impressive collection of weaponry and arsenals used by Chandela Kings, Bundela rulers and the British. Government Museum in Jhansi is the perfect place to quench your curiosity about the First War of Independence (the Revolt of 1857). This museum in Jhansi houses a great assortment of artefacts and relics from bygone eras. The museum houses various statues, weapons, photographs and dresses that date back to the Chandela dynasty. Along with that, this popular tourist place in Jhansi also has a picture gallery that beautifully highlights the history of Gupta dynasty. The major attraction of this place of tourist interest in Jhansi is the gallery especially dedicated to Rani Lakshmibai. The gallery showcases the photographs that trace their history from the revolt of 1857. Apart from this, the museum also has coins, terracottas, paintings, manuscripts, coins, and paintings. Parking is available inside the premises.

Jhansi (audio speaker iconpronunciation (help·info)) is a historic city in the Indian state of Uttar Pradesh. It lies in the region of Bundelkhand on the banks of the Pahuj River, in the extreme south of Uttar Pradesh. Jhansi is the administrative headquarters of Jhansi district and Jhansi division. Also called the Gateway to Bundelkhand, Jhansi is situated near and around the rivers Pahuj and Betwa at an average elevation of 285 m (935 ft). It is about 420 kilometres (261 mi) from New Delhi and 102 kilometres (63 mi) south of Gwalior.Jhansi is well connected to all other major towns in Uttar Pradesh by road and railway networks. The National Highways Development Project has supported development of Jhansi. Jhansi is also being developed as the defense corridor by the NDA government which will boost the economy of the city and the region at the same time. Srinagar to Kanyakumari north–south corridor passes closely to Jhansi as does the east–west corridor; consequently there has been a sudden rush of infrastructure and real estate development in the city. Jhansi was adjudged the third cleanest city of Uttar Pradesh and the fastest moving city in the North Zone in Swachh Survekshan 2018 rankings. A greenfield airport development has been planned. On 28 August 2015, Jhansi was selected among 98 cities for smart city initiative by Government of India.

History of Jhansi and India depicted systematically. Old portraits, maps, arms and ammunition, old and ancient coins, sculptures, etc. What I don't like is lack of air conditioning at that place due to which you left a particular gallery early without proper experience of that thing. This type of place also requires guides or someone in each hall to tell about the things present there.

Jhansi Museum is one of the iconic museums of India constructed around the late 19th century that helps us to track down the roots of Indian history of colonial India. Jhansi Museum, also known as the UP Government museum, is known to have artefacts since the 4th century BC along with exquisite artworks of pre-modern India. Dedicated to Rani Lakshmi Bai, this museum not only illustrates the history of Jhansi but also throws light on the Bundelkhand region of Uttar Pradesh. Over the years, Jhansi museum has become one of the major tourist attractions in Uttar Pradesh owing to the rich cultural heritage of India, particularly Jhansi.

The Jhansi Govt Museum, located in the historically significant city of Jhansi, holds a treasure trove of artifacts and exhibits that offer a glimpse into the region's rich cultural heritage and history. This museum is renowned for its collection of artifacts spanning various eras, showcasing archaeological finds, sculptures, manuscripts, and items of cultural significance. Visitors have the opportunity to explore exhibits depicting the valorous history of Jhansi, particularly the stories of Rani Lakshmi Bai, a prominent figure in India's struggle for independence. The museum's displays have traditionally provided visitors with an educational and informative experience, shedding light on the historical, cultural, and artistic legacies of the region. The artifacts on exhibit, coupled with informative displays, aim to immerse visitors in the diverse cultural heritage of Jhansi and its surrounding areas. However, as my information might be outdated, it's advisable to check recent visitor reviews or visit the museum's official website for the most current information regarding exhibits, accessibility, and any special events or renovations that might have taken place since then.

Jhansi Govt museum is located near the Jhansi Fort. Jhansi Museum is well maintained with beautiful paintings and old collections of God idols from Old Jhansi temples and weapons collected from Old Times. It is a 3 floor building and closed on every Monday. This place has an entry ticket of rs5 per person. Car parking space is available at the museum, and it is kid friendly too. Museums have displayed different paintings to show the war situation between Rani Jhansi and the Britishers. This is a place dedicated to Maharani Laxmi Bai.

(Translated by Google) This unique museum of Rani Lakshmibai Fort of Jhansi which is famous even to the extreme. Tourists come here from all over the world and do not get tired of singing the fortress of Queen Laxmi Bai, looking at the wonderful old beautiful Mohit Murthy's image from her eyes. And do not get tired of singing the saga against their war. We used to study stories in the book of childhood here. But when I entered the fort and museum here, my eyes were not flowing with love. I am feeling great that I stepped on the battlefield against me here. I would like to say to all of you that if you have roamed here on your heart, then you are definitely great, you must have felt proud.  Jai Bharat Jai Maharani Laxmi Bai. The museum is good and spread across multiple floors. The most interesting thing to me was the coin collection and the Bundelkhandi paintings . The paintings were really good. Also there were several sculptures from 9th and 10th centuries. A good place to learn more about the history of Jhansi as well as several dynasties.

The thing to note is that this museum remains closed on every Monday, apart from this it remains closed on the second Sunday of every month and also on every gazetted holiday, so whenever you come here, pay attention.

Weapons, statues, dresses and photographs that represent the Chandela dynasty and a picture gallery of the Gupta period are the highlights of the museum. An exclusive gallery on Rani Laxmi Bai is a unique attraction. There are also terracottas, bronzes, manuscripts, paintings and coins in the museum. Timing:- 10:00 am to 5:00 pm Closed on Mondays and second Saturday of every month.
