Breakfast was a hit! 💜 Loved the rustic ambience and the sustainable systems that have been put around the area. Also a great way to advancing society through employment of deaf waiters. They are really friendly and provide great service. It can also make a great working spot area - away from your usual. The place is really airy and fresh.

Cozy garden place with friendly waiters and tasty food. The perfect atmosphere to bring your laptop and continue work outside the office after lunch. The waiters are all deaf, but twice as attentive as those in any other restaurant I can think of. Famous for their pizzas, but everything I’ve tried here is nice. Their chicken cordon bleu and their smoked salmon with avocado are both good lunch options.

The food is tasty. The salmon was well prepared and not over cooked. The staff are deaf and mute so use signs to order. They are friendly and readily available. Had a great time here.

There are small Tibetian flags with prayers written on them across the ceiling. In Tibet, they believe that when the flags flutter in wind, the prayers are wafted to God. The waiters can lip-read and there is a poster to show you all how to sign the alphabets. Their menu comes with hand signs for common phrases like "thank you." There is a stone oven to bake pizza. Pallet Cafe did not require pointless meetings to discuss equality, diversity and inclusion.

It’s just a beautiful place. Calm. Relaxing. Lush garden- not as quiet as other cafes for writing and hang out due to busy James Gichuru Road right in front of it - but therefore it is easily accessible. Outstanding are the all in all beautiful waitre:sses here, who contribute a huge part of how integration of disabled people should be made visible. You are gorgeous! This Place makes a difference! NB: as the employees here are hearing impaired they won’t understand if you start talking to them. But no fear. They are super helpful and will show you how to order. By lip-reading or pointing on the menu. Meaning you have the opportunity to dive into their world and also makes this place pleasurable quiet. Enjoy.

Gorgeous cafe in beautiful garden with Deaf staff. Great service good food, swift delivery. Had breakfast here. Lots of folks were working, tonnes of space some power sockets also available. A definite gem hidden from hustle and bustle. A handful of small independent businesses, brands and artists.

Great ambiance and superb service Outdoor seating surrounded by trees 🌳. If you know sign language 🤟🏽 you can have a conversation with the staff, as most of the staff here are deaf people. As always I enjoy the food, fresh juice and coffee ☕️. Beware of the limited parking space.

The first visit ever to this place. Love the rustic look and the telephone booth is the old school style. The seating amazing some rustic some normal. Beautiful greenery with recycled plastic. The ambience is beautiful. The service very quick. Good to understand the sign language and respond the same way. Well done to have a beautiful place. Some photos below.........

Genius idea. Such a trendy place. Delicious gluten free pizzas and brownies, pancakes, if needed. Pretty and inspiring. The staff was great. It is wonderful for kids because of the guinea pigs, slide and swing, but for everyone, it is relaxing and beautiful. Amazing working place as well.

The service is exceptional. I love the outdoor space, the garden and the little touches for comfort. We visited during a particularly chilly day and they provided a heater to keep us warm. The food is delicious. The garlic fries were so good! I also love the effort towards inclusivity. I learned a bit of sign language. I will definitely be back.

I ordered two delicious pizzas, especially the Funghi. The Meat lovers pizza was also tasty and fresh. The staff, who are deaf, were friendly and prompt. I liked the ambience and beautiful birds in the garden that swing by undisturbed...

Favourite place in Nairobi! The ambience is very nice; outdoors so if it's a cooler day, dress a bit warmer, although there are heaters under the table. The food was phenomenal. My group and I ordered the eggs Benedict, pancakes, vegan banana pancakes, pallet breakfast and the vegan breakfast. All the dishes were great. The drinks were really good too. The staff was extremely friendly. We loved the experience and highly recommend!

Beautiful dining experience for a great cause!! I love that this company employs the hearing impaired community. Everyone was nice and attentive, the food was great!!! I had the Jane Kado breakfast and my son had the salmon and we loved it. The cafe latte is also really good. The landscape is beautiful and it’s a nice environment to sit and enjoy nature.

This is a lovely place and a wonderful initiative. We were struck by the excellent service. Any worry you might have about difficulty communicating with staff is unnecessary. The staff is simply incredible and makes it easy to navigate interacting with them despite their hearing impairment. We had breakfast dishes and they were absolutely delicious. Everything was nicely cooked and the sauces that were included complemented the food nicely. All the other dishes that came out looked equally great so I look forward going back here for more. The garden setting is tranquil and gorgeous. It is a great place for a relaxing drink or meal with friends. I will certainly be back!

Great garden, great ambiance, great location...and a restaurant with social justice as their waiters and waitresses are deaf. This challenged me to take up sign language. They have great choices for vegetarians as well and I found the vegetarian dishes very tasty. One recommendation for their breakfast is to use real bacon instead of brawn for bacon.

Restaurant with a cause. Great initiative; they offer employment to disable person(s). Beautiful outdoor set up. Service however, was slow - we waited over 50mins. When our order(s) were finaly brought - the food was cold. Though cold, the chilli fries were good - sweet and sour beef burger would have been mighty delicious had it been hot. Others that we tried - grilled fish fillet, wings and chips were just okay. Juice and milkshake - not good.

Definitely adding this Place to one of my favorite cafes in Nairobi. Lovely garden setting with a reallly cool ambience. Staff are super friendly and was a great experience getting to learn sign language. Our food took a bit long to come but was definitely worth the wait as it was made to perfection and absolutely delicious.

Super cute garden with great sitting area, lots of hanging plants to add to the greenness. Lots of people are in the cafe I guess working from home in this time, access to electricity and wifi in the whole yard, very nice and friendly atmosphere. The coffee was actually very nice!! The espresso is served with a shot of water just like how real Italians would have done it! Great cappuccino as well! (Better than Java house just opposite the street) Moreover, I really respect them hiring deaf people to help the community, quite a noble thing to do.

One of the MOST BEAUTIFUL PLACES near Diani Beach. The location is stunning. The food is amazing and the recipes are extraordinary. Hospitality without parallel. Our waiter was deaf and the most friendly and funny person we have met in quite a while. The purpose of this cafe to provide people with a better future and include them more is a great project and the whole concept is worth visiting this place, enjoying the nature, learning a bit sign language and the friendly staff. We will always come back! We were absolutely impressed. Thomas and Lisa

A Nairobi institution, especially amongst ex-pats and travellers, this vast restaurant, part of the Tamarind Group, is located on the southern border of the capital. The open grounds give off good first impressions as do the adjacent gardens. Service is good, and the food quality too. The menu has toned down now since new game meat laws were introduced, but is still large and varied. And more importantly the food is tasty, and not overly expensive either. Unable to comment on desserts. Overall, would definitely recommend, for the food as well as the experience.

One of the hip and happening fine dining restaurants in Nairobi. But what’s nice about this one is it’s a little more relaxed and tapas style. For me the alligator meet were out of this world. 🐊😋😋🎖

Great experience of Nairobi local delights. We wanted halal food so they changed our flag from yellow to the green. Even then they brought us alligator meat which we humbly declined to eat. Overall beef meat was 10/10 and lamb was 8/10. Didn’t like turkey, chicken and ostrich meat much though. Oh yeah ostrich liver was good as well. We concluded with deserts and it was delightful too.

This is way better than the all you can eat Brazilian restaurants you'll find in Western countries. They have all types of meat too... From the conventional ones like pork, chicken, beef to the unconventional ones like ostrich, crocodile etc. Meat is very well seasoned and the sauces they provide are the real deal. They add incredible value! We had vegetable soup and bread for starters and the warm pineapple pie with cream for dessert was amazing!! The music in the background just makes the vibe of this restaurant legit. Please please visit! It's worth your while! And you can keep eating until you turn your flag down. Please visit this place famished!

A Kenyan restaurant which is similar to a Brazilian steakhouse. There wasn't any outrageous meats with Ostrich and Crocodile being the most exotic. This restaurant has a wonderful atmosphere and is great for a fun time out. The portions are massive so bring a huge appetite. There was some confusion with our bill as we were double charged, the restaurant handled it quickly and offered to hand me the difference directly to my hotel room.

The food was a hit or miss. I especially enjoyed the Grilled Fish Salad. But the lamb burger not so much. The food arrived on the table cold which was not ideal. The juices were fresh and tasty. The service was quite slow. Especially when I had to wait for over an hour to get my burger. The manager was nice. She personally came to apologize for the mishap. The space is comfortable. Great for groups with food selections for every dietary preference. Parking can be challenging but the parking assistant did a good job.

Nothing negative to say about this place. Been several times and impressed and satisfied each time. Good mochas, portion size and service. Also enjoy the small stores in site. Keep up the great work!

Great place to hangout on Nairobi’s sunny days. The garden setup is so peaceful with fun activities too. Totally recommend the Zoodles and Mango juice. Had to pack my food to go though, the flies and bees were way to curious (or hungry) 😭

When we got here and learned that they only hire deaf waiters and waitresses, I thought it was impressive. Our waitress was really kind and helpful in teaching us some gestures in sign language and communication was one interesting aspect. My only problem came in when I ordered pasta with praws, and I think the prawns had not been preserved well. When the food got to our table, I was immediately hit by the stench and flies surrounded my food. I informed the waitress and the staff suggested that I order something else and wouldn't be charged for the stinking food. I just wondered why such food would be prepared and served to me in that state. Because, immediately the food was taken away, the smell and flies went away. Anyway, while being very skeptical, I reordered something else, this time, stirfry and I'll commend the staff for checking in with me to ensure that everything with this new order was okay and that I was fine. The incident with the horrible pasta gave me a terrible first time impression but at least they salvaged the situation. I'd just suggest to Pallet Cafe to preserve their food, especially seafood well since it is very sensitive.

I like this place. It has nice outdoor seating & a great ambiance. The service is great as the waiters are friendly & attentive. I enjoyed my masala chai & salad. I will return to try some of the other dishes.

Very lovely place and the food was yummy. Try the chilli mango sauce burger. A plus that they support differently enabled people. I also love the fact that they have an amazing garden and the plants at the restaurant.

The place is so beautiful. I definitely can't wait to go back on a warm day. The staff is deaf but the service is still top notch.

Very nice and green place. The personal are deaf ( easy to order, you will just need to point with your finger what you want) and very cool. The food is nice as well and affordable. They practice no plastic ( bottle water - cups etc) politic.
