It was a special day for me and I decided to take my parents for a meal on Christmas in Kochi, they travelled all the way just to have the worst experience ever with any Brunch Buffet. Absolutely everything from the very beginning 1. I tried to make a reservation seemed off, I had to call the hotel 6 times just to get cut off at the restaurant and finally even AFTER confirmation of the reservation they did not have my name on their list and gave us outdoor corner tables. 2. Extremely limited spread of items. The veg options were “Boiled Cauliflower”. The salads were just plain lazy. They had 4 lettuce salads with chicken/beef/fish and that was it. 3. Inspite of just a few items. They managed to absolutely ruin every single dish. Not ONE dish was good let alone edible except the live counters. The chicken was undercooked (blood) almost raw. Even the Lamb from the grill was irregularly cooked, with one side raw and another burnt. 4. When we asked the chef if there was any rice he was very condescending and told us only Risotto and if we know what that dish even was when we insisted. When asked if it was possible to make the live grill fish a bit spicy since it was extremely bland he just refused and said they’ve been marinated and it’s impossible. His behaviour was so unprofessional and rude. 5. Since the entire place was understaffed The waiters constantly forgot even about water and had to be reminded multiple times. 6. We were already upset and wanted to have a coffee before leaving. They completely forgot about it and made us wait 30 minutes just to come back and say the machine was broken. 7. To top it all off it costs ₹3500 per person before tax for this joke of a buffet. We paid in cash and the waiter just assumed all the balance was his tip and left. He was absolutely unhelpful and snobbish. This was the worst experience I’ve ever spent a good amount of money on. I also managed to disappoint my loved ones in a special day thanks to this restaurant. I HIGHLY recommend you AVOID this place and go to literally ANY other restaurant. Save your money, time and your self respect. I really wish I could give this place a negative or zero rating.

The view of Kochi from Colony Clubhouse is nothing short of breathtaking.. and that's where the compliments end. The size of the food is inversely proportional to its price; for a hefty 850 rupees, you can play a fun game of trying to find undercooked linguini hidden between a bunch of empty clam shells. My mother could barely control her laughter as it was served to our table. It was the same with the other dishes: comically small, barely palatable morsels of food with sky-high money tags. Everything was overly salty. The chef's complimentary jackfruit dessert was good, but not good enough to soothe our evening. We ended up escaping to the nearest Ootappura for some good ol' dosa.

Worst ever buffet I had . Not worth for 2800 . Not much options. Being in the centre of kochi they didn’t have anything with prawns in grill . Had 2 or 3 options in chicken as starter . I thought of compensate it with main course. They had only bread as main course. Only one rice items were there . Don’t have much options in gravy. The only thing I can appreciate is deserts. They have varieties but nothing as indian sweets. Really regret I went there

Worst Brunch. Overpriced and very less variety of food. They are just fleecing people in the name of fine dining buffet. Pls just stick to the Malabar restaurant in the ground floor of Hyatt in case you are here.

They charge a hefty premium for their ingredients, which is perfectly fine but I think it’s only fair to give a normal sized portion in size. How they can provide a kid’s meals portion for a pasta for one is beyond me. The fettuccine had a bite to it which seemed uncooked but they assured me that it was supposed to be that way as it’s “homemade”. Disappointed.

A good choice for a romantic dinner in Kochi i(f you are into non veg). The wine list is not great (only indian wines) but they have very good cocktails. The food offer was spot on. We had Oysters & a bone broth rissoto for starters and lamb shank & tenderloin as main course. All very tasty. The desserts were nice though they could have been accompanied by some coulis to make it more moist & more appealing. Overall an enjoyable experience on the terrace overlooking Bolgatty Island

Pros Good food.. much on the expensive side. Closest fine dining experience in kochi. Try reach the restaurant earlier . Atleast by 7.30 pm to enjoy better. It may be a bit crowded after that, you are less likely to get more attention. Food was very tasty!! Really fresh ingredients !!! Cons- We were not in a hurry but we did become hungry after a while because of the too long waiting times to get food once ordered... Had to run behind the waiter to remind them regarding the orders. Main course came about 1.5 hours after we ordered. Disappointed because the wine we ordered also came about 1.5 hours after we ordered. We couldn't order further as the bar was closed by then. One try is worth. Won't recommend going there more than once. One star reduced because they didn't ask for the type of type of cooking needed for the steak, I wanted a medium rare but it was too well done. Another star reduced because of the waiting time and lack of attention from the staff. Conclusion- Needs improvement on the management and better waiters needed.. the food of course was very good and is the star.. hope this helps in improving the standard of the restaurant.

We had visited Colony Club House and Grill for the Sunday Brunch. The restaurant is at the top floor of Grand Hyatt, Kochi and is having a posh ambience as expected. There is live music and ad-hoc magic shows by Mr. Anas which was really spectacular. The staff also were quite friendly. The food whatever were served were just amazing with lot of continental dishes which included lobsters, chicken, beef and fish, especially the tenderloin beef steak was worth special mention. The soup and salads were also very tasty. The pancake, waffle and Beef spaghetti were also amazing. The desserts spread were also quite good and truly continental. There was also mock-tails and cocktails available on request. There were stalls for burgers and egg varieties as well. However the disappointing part was that there were a lot of missed orders (which were part of the ad-hoc order menu which they had provided) namely, 1. Veg Mushroom based Pasta (reminded 4 times, never delivered) 2, Non veg Mushroom based Pasta (reminded 3 times, never delivered) 3. Strawberry smoothie (reminded 5 times, never delivered) 4. Chocolate Milk Shake (reminded 4 times, never delivered) 5. Mexican wrap (Delivered after reminding the 5th time) 6. Beef Bolognese Spaghetti (Delivered after reminding the 4th time) And the list doesn't end there, there were atleast 10 items which had to be reminded multiple times to get it delivered. It looked as if the staff were overburdened with lot of guests and hence they were not able to remember any of the orders. It has to be noted that the staff were not noting our orders as well in either paper or tab. Overall it was a mixed experience. The food was just amazing and was simply exceptional, but when we are dining at Grand Hyatt, we except more exclusivity and the orders to be delivered without any reminders.

Nested at the roof top of the grand Hyatt with magnificent view of the sea and the city on the other side. Ambience and decor is elegant and modern. Their specialty is seafood. Pick from catch of the day and chef does his magic. 3000rs per kg. Chicken broth (@rs 350) lovely . Mud carb cakes @ Rs 650 🤘🏽🤘🏽 Sourdough bread with Himalayan salt yougurt- heavenly . Freshly baked with a crisp outer and soft inner. The smell of freshly baked bread ..🤗 Service is excellent. ⭐️⭐️⭐️Special thanks to Praveen and chef Varun for the lovely evening. Very expensive, with 18% GST. But worth it $$$$

Worst experience. Staff : Horrible staff even when we called them multiple times they just ignore and pass by. We had to wait for an hour for someone to come and take are order. Food : We had order one starter and 3 main course and seriously speaking for a 5star hotel and a restaurant like this there was No taste in the food and limited options on the menu. Drinks : We had ordered cocktails ( Duet , French Alama) and it was a horrible cocktail never we had requested for no ice but still there was a big ice in the cocktail. We had requested for a replacement or change the complete drinks but the bartender just changed the glasses and gave it again We had a child with us who had requested for a glass of water and no-one came until we had to get up and ask for it. Cake : when we checked in the evening we had requested for a small cake since it was an anniversary dinner. The restaurant had informed that they didn't get any update regarding the same and can't arrange it. Later we informed them that we will go down to the lobby and complaint about the same which they then said that they will arrange for the cake which turned out to be a dessert. I would never recommend anyone. Overall Rating Staff : Negative Hospitality: Negative Food : Negative Drinks : Negative

The food was delicious. We ordered the Kerala Chicken Fry and the Lamb Sausage with Pita Bread. The service was spectacular. Our server, Awai, was kind to give us the fiery cocktail and the shots on the house. Overall, it was a great experience and I would highly recommend you come here to the Grand Hyatt rooftop bar.

Went there for the Sunday brunch yesterday. Although the food was impressive the service left much to be desired. For starters the buffet is spread over a vast are and no one oriented us about where the stations are. They did not even provide us with a menu, only when we chanced upon a menue card upon our own did we realise what all was on offer. The cocktails trolley took forever to reach us The deserts corner is almost in another building and we were left to ourselves to discover where it is. A buffet which costs 3500 INR plus certainly should have better service quality.

First time trying out their food and I was pleasantly surprised. Aesthetics and decor: Simply but tastefully decorated. The tables are spread apart so you do get a private feel. The views from up there are amazing, so if you can sit by the glass, go for that! Service: Great. Very professional staff, quick to attend. Price: Definitely on the pricier end, especially considering the portion sizes. Menu and food: The menu is a little limited, especially the appetisers section, but they have a decent variety of vegetarian and non-veg dishes. We tried the following: For the appetisers we went for the smoked tofu salad, crab cakes and chilled prawns with cocktail sauce. - the crab cakes were fantastic (about 4 per plate). Probably some of the best crab cakes I've had. - the smoked tofu and bean sprout salad was pretty stale and disappointing. There was very little actual tofu in there, and the tofu was pretty rubbery and bland to taste. Overall, the salad was very dry. I wouldn't recommend this dish. - the chilled prawns was a very okay dish. You get about 3 prawns per plate with a side of cocktail sauce. The sauce itself was very mediocre. For our entrees, we got the colony mushroom pasta, fettuccine with chorizo, seafood linguine and the catch of the day. I only tasted a few of the above and here's my take on them: - the colony mushroom pasta was really good. The mushrooms were nice and juicy and the pasta was flavoured well. - fettuccine with chorizo was also good, but I wasn't blown away. It's a decent dish, nothing to write home about. - the catch of the day was seabass. This was a good portion and tastefully done. Even though we didn't order full-fledged desserts, we tried a few scoops of their salted caramel ice cream. I'm not a huge fan of salted caramel flavours, but I gotta say - this was really good. Very creamy, with the right amount of caramel and salt. Overall, a nice night out, beautiful views and good food. However, I didn't think the food was exceptional enough to warrant paying the price tag on each dish, but I guess you're also paying for the name and the view. Would I go back? Maybe for special occasions and the sort.

We visit the Colony Clubhouse and Grill quite frequently and are left satisfied and happy every single time. Our last visit was no different as the Grilled Sea Bass was exquisite and extremely fresh. The Roasted Tomato Soup was packed with flavour and the Lamb Risotto was rich and decadent with Al Dente Arborio Rice. The service was excellent and our waiter, Prince was very helpful, even offering to pay for our drinks. There is no doubt in my mind that I will be returning to CCAG soon.

Amazing Ambience..Sumptuous food and well groomed and courteous staff!! Been here on five to six occasions and the food has been great everytime. Had a wonderful birthday evening when I decided to treat myself for some #metime. Saturday night...a day prior Valentines Day the entire place was jam packed. Saw a lot of people waiting for a seat at all the restaurants within the place. Made a casual remark to the staff that it was my Birthday and she took a lot of effort to get me a table after some permutations and combinations...the gesture was very forthcoming and made my day even special! Thank you Ms Sunita Das for the warm n professional gesture! Will be visiting again soon...! Highly recommended for the pasta and cocktails..😋..cheers!!

I think this is a new hotel and still learning how to differentiate between one off customers vs loyal customers. I visited the restaurant and was advised to reserve the place next time. This was only second time in last five years that I had to leave a Hyatt restaurant without eating (I might have have stayed hundreds of nights in Hyatt). Thoroughly disappointed with this restaurant!

I have been to the Colony Clubhouse more than a few times. It’s a restaurant with excellent ambience. On a cool evening, the outdoor seating offers some of the best views in Kochi. The menu is small and well curated. The dishes are executed well and I found most of them to be very flavourful. However, the prices being charged that too for a restaurant in Kochi seem to be on the higher side. Of course, if you want to maintain the quality of ingredients prices may be justified. After dining here on several occasions I have found the service to be lacklustre. Most servers intrude and keep asking how the dish is. I find this to be unnecessary. Also, some disappointing experiences in billing also point to the service not matching the ambience or the brilliance of the chefs. That apart, this seems to be the best place to have continental food in kochi. Do try the chocolate cake.

Having frequented the other restaurants few times decided to check out the Colony grill house for the first time. Though we had a booking we were seated outside. On request we were given a seat inside after some time when seating was available. We ordered the butter garlic prawns and specifically instructed the waiter to have them cooked more than how they normally serve (my friend has come here earlier and knew that the prawns are undercooked, suiting the palates of Westerns maybe). However after quite some wait we were served prawns which was not fully cooked. We asked for the dish to be taken back and cooked slightly more. This time around we got a plate which looked like a deep fried mess and the prawns had shrunk in size. We immediately gave the feedback to the waiter who brought us the dish and initially while he was not planning to take any action, on mentioning that I will be sharing feedback he sent the chef who apologized and requested for another chance to serve us. This time around it was cooked nicely, not overdone or undercooked. However having experienced this, along with highly unusual delays even to top up the drinks we were thoroughly disappointed with the choice we made on 25th dec for dinner. We shared our feedback with the restaurant manager too who seemed very receptive. The dish we liked the most was the cream of chicken soup. It was delicious. The chicken wings were also nice. The restaurant has a nice ambience though it is much smaller than the other restaurants. Will not be coming back to this place for sure.

I recently attended brunch , and I must say it was an excellent experience. The highlight was the wide variety of cuisines available, with numerous live counters. Moreover, there was literally a room full of desserts, each one better than the other. The service was top-notch. However, if you're expecting some local Kerala cuisines also as part of the brunch, this is not be the place for you, as there will be none! They have a dedicated restaurant named Malabar, which would be your best bet

  • 1/5 Shari M. 5 months ago on Google • 9 reviews
Would not recommend this restaurant . Food was substandard, poorly presented, lacked flavour, way below par but with an inflated price tag (even for a high end restaurant). Service was deplorable - with only 3 tables to serve the front of house/manager was stressed out and not able to get orders correct - multiple errors were made with just a simple order. Dirty plates were not collected, even getting water was a mission. The atmosphere was unbearable - 2 massive fans blowing air into the sky instead of on customers and no means of adjusting height. For a five star institution I expect much more - especially when compared to the breakfast buffet at the Malabar Cafe which is managed so well and the quality of food there is fantastic. The only reason we dined at Colony was to avoid traffic but after that experience we were convinced that we should have taken the risk with the traffic. Need to improve the standard of both food and staff here substantially to just be in par with a 3 star restaurant. Will not be returning.

Visited for the sunday brunch. Left very much happy with the entire experience. The food was varied with everything from perfectly made Street food to slightly more exotic delicacies and a lot in between. Everything was delicious and beyond reproach and the staff, extremely accomodating. An experience I am certainly looking forward to repeating soon.

Worst experience ever. Don’t believe in the payed social media blogs they do.They don’t know what they are doing there. Says it’s five star but local road side dishes are better than that. Today we ordered for drum sticks, they given broasted chicken; that too under cooked. Whenever we complaint about something they take it casually. Staffs are good. Location and Atmosphere is good. Only problem I’m facing with Hyatt kochin is their food. I think Hyatt india should review the quality of food they serve at kochin Hyatt. Be careful before ordering food. Be safe.

One of the luxurious 5star hotels in kochi is grandhyatt..It has three restaurants ..one of them is colony clubhouse...the most attractive thing is it’s in the rooftop..main cuisines are continental, barbecues & seafood...loved the food...but one thing in particular to note is that if anyone’s going for the same..make sure u like the continental foods and their sauces... I attended the SUNDAY BRUNCH which started at 11am till 3 pm It includes a buffet with live counters and complimentary beverages...we can have a nice rooftop dining with vembanad lakefront view. The rate of buffet is 2222 plus tax per head and that’s around 2500 If u have a Hyatt dining club membership u can save 30% up to 50% off for Sunday brunches.desserts and fruits were very fresh..fresh juices were served unlimited...they were very much guest welcoming....

Beef Tenderloin Mix-up User Make a 3 star review on Colony Clubhouse and grill. On how i ordered a beef tenderloin And the other person I was with ordered a chicken and how they mixed up the plate so I ordered another tenderloin and the second one had to much blood in it and was rare when I asked for medium meanwhile the first one was delicious. And the reason this happened might be because it was the closing time but still the fact they put no effort for a 2000 ruppe dish(24 dollars) and they made a bad dish was kind of upseting. ChatGPT Title: Mixed Experience with Beef Tenderloin at Colony Clubhouse and Grill Rating: ★★★☆☆ My recent visit to Colony Clubhouse and Grill was a mix of highs and lows, especially when it came to the beef tenderloin dish I ordered. While the first tenderloin was delicious and cooked to perfection, the subsequent experience left much to be desired. When I arrived at the restaurant, I decided to go for their highly recommended beef tenderloin, and my companion opted for a chicken dish. Unfortunately, the mix-up of our plates resulted in me receiving the chicken dish instead of my tenderloin. Though the staff rectified the error, it was still an inconvenient start to the evening. I was hopeful when my second tenderloin arrived, but my excitement was short-lived. Despite requesting a medium doneness, the second tenderloin had far too much blood and was uncomfortably rare. It was evident that the kitchen did not pay attention to my preference, which was disappointing, especially considering the dish's price point of 2000 rupees (approximately 24 dollars). I understand that mistakes can happen, and it was towards the closing time, but that should not justify the lack of effort put into a premium dish. The fact that they couldn't get it right, not once but twice, was upsetting and reflected poorly on the overall dining experience. While the initial beef tenderloin was indeed delicious, the second serving with its rare and bloody state left a sour taste in my mouth. The inconsistency in preparation and disregard for customer preferences were major letdowns. I had hoped for a more enjoyable dining experience at Colony Clubhouse and Grill, especially considering the price of the dish. If you do decide to dine here, I'd suggest being cautious with your orders, particularly if you have specific preferences for doneness. For me, the disappointment with the second beef tenderloin overshadowed the positive aspects of the meal, making it difficult for me to wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant. User Change the second paragraph to my companion acedently ate 3/4 of my tenderloin and they don't rectify the error and I pay another dish for full price. Keep all the other paragraph mostly same. Unfortunately, my companion accidentally ate 3/4 of my tenderloin, and despite bringing this to the staff's attention, they did not rectify the error or offer any compensation. As a result, I had to pay for another dish at full price. When I arrived at the restaurant, I decided to go for their highly recommended beef tenderloin, and my companion opted for a chicken dish. Due to an unfortunate mix-up in the kitchen, my companion ended up with my tenderloin plate and unknowingly consumed a significant portion of it. Although I explained the situation to the staff, they did not take any corrective action or compensate for the error. Hoping to still enjoy the tenderloin, I ordered another one, albeit reluctantly considering my previous experience. Unfortunately, my hopes were shattered when the second tenderloin arrived. Despite explicitly requesting a medium doneness, the second tenderloin also had an excessive amount of blood and was served rare once again. It was evident that the kitchen did not pay attention to my preference, which was doubly disappointing, espec

Special thank you to Rajender Goud for being extremely attentive and kind to all the guests. He recommended the best desserts to have and ensured we were all well taken care off (about the desserts- all of them were absolutely amazing!) Really think thrice before going here. TERRIBLE experience. And this seems like many others have reported as well but doesn’t looks like the hotel is able to correct this trend. Went for drinks and some food with friends. 1. Wine and drinks took 20 minutes to arrive. When I asked one of the waitress who was standing there she told me the waiter assigned to table must be bringing it. I asked if she could check. Without checking she simply replied he is bringing it and went away. Why does a glass of whiskey and two bottles of wine take 20 minutes? 2. After first round of snacks the table was filled with used utensils and waiters were not clearing that. They were aware that we had ordered more food. But they didn’t bother to clear the table and kept moving things around and piling up and placing more food. We had to ask them to clear it. 3. No water served. 4. My food got served and there was no cutlery. When I asked where is the cutlery, the waiter started arguing that he had provided the cutlery initially. Come on. Am I lying and playing hide and seek with cutlery? Did we ate the cutlery? Or did it disappear? A simple answer of I will get you some would have sufficed. But no, the waiter needed to prove that he was right and he did his job and it must be me who is wrong. A senior had to ask and get this corrected. 5. The menu has very limited choices for vegetarians and the tofu we order didn’t really taste any good (just my personal opinion). Overall we spend around 25k+ for a party of 10 and got very distasteful experience. A small street side cafe can get it right. But not Grand Hyatt. Really really disappointed.

Beyond disappointed with this place. Service was extremely slow, outdoor seating even with a splendid view was not comfortable because there were no fans or any provision to keep mosquitoes away. The food reached us an hour and half after we placed the order and it was not worth the wait at all. All three main course dishes that we ordered were nowhere close to what the menu offered. Very limited offerings on the menu and every single dish was disappointing. The only good about the place was the infused gin and the complimentary bread (focaccia) Not at pleased with our experience here and my mother's birthday ended on a rather dull note because we chose to have dinner here.

The most wonderful place at kochi, especially the Sunday brunch. It's a power pack combo with great food and cocktails. U get a rooftop view of kochi city, the lake, etc etc.. I can't even put it in words how amazing it is.. The staff is so good, professional yet friendly.. Best restaurant in kochi. .
