This is by far the best castle I've visited. Huge and cinematic, it makes you feel a hero of some medieval movie. The interior is simply astonishing, and although it was almost entirely restored after WW2, it feels quite authentic. I must mention the audio excursion that comes with the tickets. A highly professional narrative of the speaker is subtly spiced with audio effects depending on the room or space being currently observed by the traveller. All the necessary utilities and infrastructure are available on the site. Parking is paid, around 6$ or something per day.

Fantastic castle and a nice day trip from Gdansk. The place is huge so it may take you a better part of the day to explore the whole thing. There are audio guides available and there are licensed guides that tour with groups including foreign speaking groups.

One of the most beautiful castles in Europe. The place has a great vibe and the tours are great. The audio guides come in multiple languages and are well explained. It's amazing how the restoration was done after the brutal world war. Highly recommended.

Google doesn't have enough stars for me to rate this castle. It is very large and truly a city within a city. At least minimum 4 hours to go through the whole castle. The audio guide is well thought out, very interesting to listen to. Learning history with him and walking around the castle is just great. This is the best castle I have seen in my life, I was very impressed.

A truly massive castle in a great location by the river. This has been sympathetically restored over the years particularly after the serious damage inflicted during the war. Great restaurant down in the basement with authentic polish food. Allow at least 2 to 3 hours to walk around.

Malbork Castle is an extraordinary historical marvel that I had the pleasure of visiting. Before visiting, I did some research on the history of the Teutonic Knights, and I must emphasize the importance of doing so. Understanding their role in medieval Europe and their connection to the castle greatly enriched my experience. The layers of history came to life as I explored the impressive halls, courtyards, and fortifications. The scale and grandeur of Malbork Castle are truly jaw-dropping. Whether you're a history enthusiast or simply seeking a memorable cultural experience, Malbork Castle is a must-visit.

The most beautiful and detailed castle ive ever seen. Its big, has lots to see and is worth a visit. The audio guides and tours are very comprehensive. We went here on a monday which meant that we could only see the outsides of the castle, and the courtyards. The rest of the week is open as usual. Monday also has free entry.

Huge castle with impressive grounds. It is better to purchase tickets online as the line gets long. I would also advise to take a audio tour instead of a guide. The guides only speak Polish and the tour is over 3 hours long and talks about a lot of small details. You can pace yourself better when you go with an audio tour.

What an amazing place! Get an audio tour and take it at your own pace. In addition to the castle structure itself (which is huge and interesting), within the castle are collections that would make, on their own, fantastic museum collections. Be ready to spend five hours or so. Bring a lunch and take a break in the courtyard.

Malbork Castle is worth grabbing tickets online, and don't forget to pick up the audio guide. it is given free of charge at the checkout. without an audio guide you will not be allowed into the castle itself. take comfortable shoes, you will have to walk a lot. It took me 6 hours with a snack for lunch. there is a great cafe in the middle of the castle be sure to try their local specialties

Wonderfully restored and maintained medieval castle and abbey. You can wander the grounds or follow an audio guide. The passages are not always well marked, but usually there is an attendant to direct you. Plan on spending 3 to 4 hours to view all the exhibits and rooms.

(Translated by Google) The castle is beautiful and met all expectations, while during the tour in the summer of 2018, we found a guide who put us to sleep quite a bit - instead of interesting facts about the castle, we received far too much less interesting information (which could be deduced from what the younger guides told us) . Nevertheless, I believe that everyone should visit it, by far the most beautiful castle in Poland.

Best castle visit I have ever experienced. The audio guide is excellent and the castle is just straight out of a fairy tale. Allow at least three hours and perhaps four to squeeze in a couple of breaks. The formerly renowned restaurant called “Gothic” no longer exists. There is another newer restaurant inside but we did not try it. Excellent day trip from Gdansk! Easily reachable by a 50 min train ride from Gdansk central station.

This castle is simply amazing for everybody who does love history. Parking spots are in close streets of the city for free so you don't have to pay for parking. Best way how to make a reservation to the castle is on the website of the castle Malbork. With audioguide it took us ~4 hours to visit all castle interiors. I really recommend to do a trip here if you weren't been here already.

Beautiful place. I always wanted to go there and I wasn't disappointed. Many exhibition. Visiting with the guide (paid extra) or free audio guides. Audio guides have different options and choices of visiting trails (longer or shorter). We picked kids trail to keep our children interested. I'd like to go back there and see the castle again with the guide.

The largest castle in the world! The castle is so large it reals unreal like your walking though something from a fantasy. There is an amazing audio guide as part of the tour, its the best audio tour I've ever been on. Its location triggered so just follow the directions and the audio plays once you've reached the correct location. Think we spent 4 hours touring. The castle was created as the headquarters of the Teutonic Knights. The castle's defenses where so strong that it was never conquered but later sold to the Polish crown. The castle was partially destroyed in WW2 has been fixed up wonderfully. 100% recommend visiting. Only a half an hour train ride from Gdańsk.

Such a majestic and beautiful castle! The entry tickets include the audio guide, and I must say that it's extremely informative, works flawlessly and comes with sound effects as well! This was undoubtedly the best audio tour I have taken. The tour itself is very streamlined, and takes around 3-4 hours. Wear comfortable shoes and enjoy the overall experience! Highly recommended.

The tour through the palace was very nice and interesting. We got the audio guide which is equipped with gps, so the audio tracks skip automatically based on the location you are in. Would recommend getting tickets in advance in order to skip the lines. Overall a very nice experience.

Amazing castle to visit. Would really recommend buying the tickets online beforehand as the lines for the tickets get quite long. That being said it is an amazing castle and they have audio guides in several different languages including English, Polish, German, Lithuanian and more! The audio guides are excellent, the whole tour takes around 3 hours.

Absolutely fantastic! Conditions allowing, the best option is to split the visit in 2 days, so much history and information available that you don't see the time fly. The tour guides are extremely knowledgeable and keen to to answer our weird questions. If you're cool enough to know Polish or , like me, have a Polish person to help, great , alternatively you can have the audio guide. Incredible work by the restoration professionals , especially after WW2. Don't forget to refill your energy at the "little cellar" restaurant after the tour, located in the main courtyard. Proper Polish food 🥟🍲

Amazing and wonderful ! The spirit and mood of those old times is keenly felt. I recommend dedicating the whole day to traveling, you won’t regret it. An excellent restaurant under the castle arches at the entrance with cuisine as close as possible to the Old Polish cuisine.

One of the most beautiful and breath taking man made buildings I have seen in my life, the history of the teutonic knights is even more interesting then the castle is amaizng. The museum offers an audo tour for only 10zl (absolute bargain) that is GPS activated witha screen for directions. If you are in the North of Poland then this is a must see. It truly is magical to see and experience.

Great! Awesome for kids the audio tour for families is designed in optimal way. Not too long not too short about 2 hours. Kids had so much fun and gain knowledge about history of Poland.

Fantastic audio-guided (headphone) tour through an immensely large castle. The experience was dampened slightly due to the very large groups of people who chose not to use headphones and instead had obnoxiously loud tour guides who's voices reverberated throughout the walls of the castle.

  • 5/5 Damian 3 years ago on Google
It is awesome! Great restoration after WWII, very modern way of audio guides GPS and beacon based, my kids (4 and 9) loved it and even the younger one easily followed the tour. We choose family tour and with our own pace it took us 2,5h to complete. Worth to plan visit upfront and but tickets on-line, as the entrance is booked for specific time-slots (every hour). Even with tickets bought on-line, please plan to arrive early enough to walk from the parking to the visitor centre to collect audioguide, as this is mandatory prerequisite to enter into the castle. If you are earlier, you can have a walks around the castle, have a lunch in the on-site restaurant or check medieval market with lots of gadgets for knights and princesses.

A really amazing castle to visit. If you go there remember the audio guide, without that I can't imagine you get too much out of it. The audio guide is really the best I have ever experienced, it detects which room you are in and starts the guide automatically as you enter the new room of this gigantic world's largest castle.

  • 5/5 Yogesh S. 2 years ago on Google
Starting with tickets, book the tickets in advance from their website if the plan is on busy days. I had some bad experience with audio guides on other places, hence hesitated to choose that option. But for me with kids, I can't afford the speed of guides, as I need to take rest then and there. Hence went with the option of audio guide. Surprisingly, the audio guide here is the best I have never experienced before and it impressed me that I chose the best option. It properly guides us with the picture on the display where to go next and how to go. It also ensures whether we reached that appropriate spot and then only it started explaining. Hence I would suggest to take the audio guide option. Even in case if you face any trouble with the device during the tour, the staffs over there are happy to help you to fix it on the spot. Just ensure you hear the voice properly before starting the tour. If not change it immediately at the counter. As an UNESCO recognised site, you should know the historical value of this castle. There are few museums covered during the tour in which I liked the Amber museum and the weapon collections. I personally enjoyed exploring the biggest brick castle in the world :)

The largest brick Gothic castle in the world. And frankly speaking, it corresponds to its status 100%! I strongly recommend taking a tour with a tour guide, especially since his services are included in the ticket price. As of today (29.01.2022) the entrance ticket for one person costs 60 PLN. There is an opportunity to take a tour with a tour guide, or with an audio guide. The area of the castle is 16 hectares. Inside everything is beautiful, restored after the war. It is difficult to describe in words this beauty, you just need to come here and see everything. The tour time is 3 hours. Well, in everything else, you will be satisfied and impressed. Highly recommend! :)

This is an impressive castle and definitely huge. No wonder it’s the world’s largest. The GPS powered audio guide service is very successful. It works just fine. You should definitely climb the tower. That way you can actually see how large the castle is and see the whole city. If you have a small bag that you don’t want to carry during the visit, you can use the lockers next to the toilets under the ticket office. You need a 2 Zloty coin though. Some people forget to take the coin back, so you can check the available lockers and see if there a coin you can use. Ticket was 70 zloty and the fee for the tower was 12 Zloty.

The mother of all castles, if you ask me. What a magnificent building! The sheer size of the place. You can easily spend a whole day here, and I guarantee you will not see everything. The only thing that I wish the museum could improve upon is adding some armor, swords, because the place is quite devoid of such things. So happy I got to see this place.

Great place to visit. We took the 3,5 h tour with family discount. We chose to buy our tickets at the ticket machine but would by tickets online next time, because you have to wait a little time. You mustn’t take the tour with the guide, even though it seems to be very good. But we chose to go alone because it was the right choice for us with small children. Wasn’t that easy with a stroller but you can leave it if you want in the yard of the castle. We recommend the extra trip on the top of the tower for 12 zloty. You will have a decent view. The audio guide is very informative. All together it’s a beautiful castle. The restaurant next to the riverside is also very nice.

That was the best family visit of this holiday.with my 6 and 8 years old we did an audio family tour. They love it . As my little one said: I thought it would be boring but it was super fun, I can come everyday! Recommend to buy tickets online

Castle of the Teutonic Order in Malbork, the world's largest brick castle. It is half of the size of Vatican City. Fantastic experience. Tickets should be bought online in advance. Audio guided tour is awesome as it detects your movement around the castle as you walk, explaining every room or object. The tour takes 3,5 hours.

A must visit for medieval fans. The audio guide is included the price . Took me 3,5 hours to see all floors and it was a 10 km walk at the end. So it is big . :)

The Malbork Castle is an incredible sight to behold. It is the largest brick castle in the world, and its size and grandeur are truly awe-inspiring. The castle was built by the Teutonic Order in the 13th century, and it served as their headquarters for over 200 years. Today, the castle is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and a popular tourist destination. I visited the Malbork Castle this summer, and I was blown away by its beauty and historical significance. The castle is divided into three sections: the High Castle, the Middle Castle, and the Lower Castle. Each section has its own unique charm, and it is fascinating to explore them all. I highly recommend visiting the Malbork Castle if you are ever in Poland. It is a truly unforgettable experience.

The biggest brick castle in the world. Amazing. For a visit at the end of October during the week I don't think buying tickets in advance is necessary, but for a different period it might be better. The audio guide was very informative and pleasant.

The most inpressive castle I’ve ever visited. It’s the Europe’s biggest one built of red bricks. Very recommended if you are near Malbork. It took me more than 2 hours and a half visiting it.

The largest Catholic Castle ever built ! Impregnable for hundreds of years .. royal seat for more hundred of years, suffered destruction in WW2 and the polish rebuilt to perfection thereafter. It must be seen to realise how large the site is, just imagine 3000 knights living in one location ! (Knights = Tanks in the middle ages ! ). Great Parking, But not too many F&B around

Magnificent Castle! No wonder it is the largest brick castle in the world. The construction and engineering are incredible. We got there for the gate open and spent 4 hours in the castle and only finished a route. We didn't explore the rest of the castle, as it was getting too crowded. Make sure to book the ticket in advance and get there early, as it will get very busy later.
