With a theme of music, Melody World Wax Museum is one of the popular sightseeing places of the city. Located only 3 km away from Mysore Maharaja Palace, it is easily accessible too. A heritage building of Mysore, the building of this museum is said to be more than 90 years old. It also boasts of having the largest collection of musical instruments (about 300) in Karnataka. About 110 life-size wax statues in native attires are a few of the major attractions at this museum. Display of a wide array of musical instruments, life size statues of musicians playing various instruments in out of the ordinary sets make this museum a place worth visiting. Entry Fee Rs. 30 per person Rs. 10 for still Camera

A heritage building of Mysore, the building of this museum is said to be more than 90 years old. It also boasts of having the largest collection of musical instruments in Karnataka. Varied kinds of musical instruments belonging to different parts of the country and ages have been displayed here. Apart from museum there is Horror World for entertainment but its not that scary and not worth for the ticket fee. The ticket charge for entering the museum is Rs.60 and if you wish to see horror world its another Rs.60. There is gender separate washroom but its not clean. They could improve on that aspect too. Apart from that it is good place for a one time visit. 🧾 Cash only payment 🅿️✅ Parking area available ♿✅ No wheelchair accessible entrance 🚻✅ Gender separate washroom available

Melody World Wax Museum, located in Mysore, is a unique and fascinating attraction that stands apart from conventional wax museums. Unlike the traditional focus on celebrities and historical figures, this museum is dedicated to the theme of music, making it a delightful visit for music lovers and culture enthusiasts. Spanning three floors, the museum houses an eclectic collection of life-size wax figures representing various forms of music from across the globe. Each floor is themed differently, showcasing a wide range of musical cultures and histories. From tribal to Indian classical, from contemporary pop to traditional folk, the museum provides a comprehensive overview of the world's musical diversity. One of the most striking aspects of Melody World Wax Museum is the attention to detail in the wax figures and the settings they are placed in. The figures are dressed in appropriate attire, complete with musical instruments, creating a realistic portrayal of each genre. The ambiance is further enhanced by background music corresponding to each section, immersing visitors in a complete sensory experience. However, while the museum is innovative in its concept and execution, it faces some limitations. The lighting in some areas is not optimal, which can detract from the experience of viewing the wax figures. Additionally, the information provided alongside the displays, while informative, could be more detailed to enrich the educational aspect of the museum. In terms of accessibility, the museum is located a bit away from the main city center, but it is easily reachable by local transport. The entrance fee is reasonable, making it an affordable attraction for families and tourists. In conclusion, Melody World Wax Museum offers a unique and enjoyable experience, especially for those with an interest in music and culture. While there are areas for improvement, the museum's novel theme and engaging displays make it a worthwhile visit in Mysore.

Museum established in October 2010 is World Recognized. A unique experience for family and groups. Ticket rates are Rs.60 per head and open on all days from 9.30am ~ 7,30pm

Melody World Wax Museum has an exquisite display of musical instruments ranging from 1980s to the present. The spectrum of instruments includes those used in Carnatic music, Jazz, African, Saudi Arabia, Punjab etc. The wax statues of the people playing the instruments is so real, with poses in rhythm of the music. Worth spending time and seeing each instrument in detail.

Never ever plan to visit this place, its a waste of both time and money. Looks like someone is paying huge money to promote it as a tourist place and earn money from tourists. 60 rs entry ticket for museum and 60 rs for horror world... I would not visit this place even if someone provided free entry. Its just some wax statues holding various musical instruments and not at all maintained, it was dust everywhere like the statues have not been cleaned for ages.

This museum shows various musical instruments across the globe. One can observe their dressing style, gestures, learn about their history via information boards. It was setup in a cool environment but some rooms are little bit creepy to see.

'Over 1200 musical instruments from all over the World along with over 100 life-size wax statues are exhibited in a 100 year old heritage house of Mysuru. This unique museum also displays some priceless antique musical instruments of India. Established in October 2010, it is a fun place for family and groups. It displays and speak of the rich culture and heritage of India and the World. Ticket rates are Rs.50 per head and open on all days from 9.30am ~ 7,30pm'

Poorly maintained museum. No proper tidiness inside. Staff are simply sitting, eating, chit-chatting. They do not have any interest in visitors nor try and maintain proper museum decorum. In each show item you will find display card begging for money as they do not have aid from outside. Nevertheless this is one of the sadest museum I visited. Sorry, but those items deserve much higher value and appreciation rather than eating junk here.

The museum has over 1200 instruments from around the world and claims to have the largest collection in India. There’s a horror show that is not worth the visit, and a ‘vortex’ which was actually cool. As a foreigner the 200 rupee fee was reasonable to see everything, much more and i would have been disappointed. If I returned it would just be the music part for only 60 rupees. Now, if melody world sees this review I have a few comments… and please know these are suggestions from a musican who enjoyed the museum, not complaints. First take better care of those precious instruments! Some are obviously in disrepair, and everything is dusty. What you have is special and hopefully will be preserved for future generations but not in the state I saw them in today. Maybe visitation is low because of Covid, but I urge you to take better care. Also there are some items mislabeled either with the wrong name or wrong place of origin (like Cuban bongos are with the middle eastern area but should be with the Latin America area), and many items are not labeled. To further your mission of inspiring kids to learn music please update signage so they know the right name and origin of the instrument. What about having some recorded music along with the presentations so people can hear what these instruments sound like? Your Indian visitors may not be familiar with the styles of music from other countries, and your foreign visitors may not be familiar with the different Indian styles. Maybe a hands on section so people can make some noise and really be inspired? I would love to try the pump organs you have. Lastly your categorization could use an update. It would be fascinating for instance to see a timeline of drums, or stringed instruments rather than have them all scattered about. Maybe close the horror show altogether and focus on the music cause you have a wonderful collection and the horror show was a complete waste of space. 🙏🏽

Behind every action, there is an intention and I felt very pure energies and intention behind all the beautiful hard work, from the making to the collection of all the unique instruments! Very educational museum, built with amazing souls who are helpful and compassionate. I would like to thank the owner for his unique contribution to the universe and humanity for the education provided and monuments. May God continue to bless.

The wax museum had an impressive collection of musical instruments on display. From ancient percussion instruments to modern electronic keyboards, the museum had something for every music enthusiast. Each exhibit was carefully curated with information about the history and significance of the instrument. It was evident that the museum had put a lot of effort into acquiring and showcasing these artifacts while the wax museum's collection of musical instruments was impressive, the poor maintenance detracted from the overall experience. Visitors could benefit from the museum's investment in regular upkeep and restoration to ensure that the exhibits are in top condition.

Very good collection of musical instruments, however, this place is not maintained well, a weird smell is everywhere, mannequins have very dirty clothes and all are now very cramped, looking like they disposed of them all in a very small place. The Horror house was bit fine, a long way inside the horror house so feel it. All together you can visit this place if you have time.

Wax melodies museum consists of 4 entertaining places like 1.wac melodies museum, 2.horror house, 3.vortex tunnel, 4.mirror maze along with few video games and other fun games. Wax melodies museum was a good Place to see the historical instruments and band. They got a huge collection of historical items. It also contains horror world which was really amazing to enjoy those who visit with kids. It also had a package of mirror maze and vortex tunnel it was a full package of enjoyment with a combo ticket price of Rs. 300 each. I had a good time over here and enjoyed the visit. Everything is made of wax and well maintained . There was a good collection of hundreds of musical instruments and wax statues neatly connecting to various countries and regions musicians and people. If you are a music lover, this is a good place. This museum has a huge collection of musical instruments. I saw many musical instruments here, which I have not seen anywhere else or even heard of. There are many life size wax statues. But, the museum is not maintained well. Even lighting needs to be improved. There is a shop too where you can buy small wax candles and showpieces. Worth to visit one time.

If you are a music lover, this place is like a magical wonderland. They have perhaps the greatest collection of musical instruments in India. The novel thing is the way it is all displayed, on themed sets of of full size wax models in appropriate clothes and getup. Additionally, there is a horror house of wax models and a play area for children. A good place to visit while in Mysuru.

One of the most important things to visit in Mysore. Not Many people are aware of it. It has most unique collection of musical. Instruments. A must to visit and see for yourself. All instruments here are real. Please take your children's so that they can see these instruments for real. Some instruments are made from snake skin and turtle body. Olden instruments made from bone are also kept forgetting display. You can see a whole series of telephones, radio, recorders which are obsolete.

There is a good collection of musical instruments, starting from stone age and also those used in various countries and wax statues. Needs maintenance, but heard it was well maintained before corona and they would maintain it hereafter as there are more people visting. There are some games as well for the children, which is of course paid but good place for hanging out during evening. There is a horror world, which is not scary compared to that at other places.

If you are a music folklore, it's the right place to pitch in. Though the place looks like an antique home, it hosts world wide musical instruments and its usage from the beginning of the era. Continental wise, the music and its legacy has been showcased. As of Feb 2022, the entry fee is INR 60.

Again, it's NOT a museum. Similar to any exhibition camp you might have come across. There are many wax figurines and stuff. It has record of having a collection of wax counterpart of all musical instruments of the world. Just that they aren't displayed properly neither with their names nor any information. They have just been stored like in a storehouse. There are also many mini games available to play after paying for each.

It was a little lonely and not giving the vibe of a museum, though the musical instrument made from different materials and from different areas of the world is worth seeing.

Place is really amazing, you get to see 1800 different kinds of musical instruments. Right from the Stone Age to modern age instruments are showcased here. Really a great place to visit. Less crowded, well maintained and staff are very polite. Our entire tour was guided by Mrs. Revathi, she explained us the nook and corner of the museum. Ticket per person is 60/- Parking is available

It says wax museum but there are very few exhibits made of wax. I'll say it's a Musical instruments Museum. There are a wide variety of musical instruments and exhibits many traditions all over the world. There is a Horror world, mirror maze, VR gaming. In combos you cannot exclude wax museum, unless you take individual passes at each cost 60rs
