I have been to a lot of Zostels across India and this Wayanad property is one of the finest locations. Located at the top of Chembra estate with no other properties around makes this exquisite. The vibe is as usual as you would expect in a Zostel and Haris (Property manager) is super cool and friendly. The Kitchen has a fixed menu for breakfast and dinner and you are expected to pay for the food immediately during each of the order. Also you are expected to clean the plates/cups and give it back in the kitchen. A little streamlining on food orders for settling the bills at once would be great.

It is the most beautiful property of Zostel at the base of Chembra surrounded by mountains and tea estates. The place is really huge, good for sunrise & sunset view from the viewing deck or just the view from the place is mesmerising. The rooms are spacious & lots of common area that’s currently under development to make a restaurant, pool, amphitheater.

Absolutely amazing location for stay, rooms and other facilities available are excellent too. They certainly need to change the cafe/ restaurant staff and be more flexible. When you are placed in such a remote location where access to food is too far, you either run a 24X7 restaurant or allow guests to get outside food! you can't dictate when your guests should eat!! Cafe staff attitude is certainly disappointing, they either need to learn what hospitality is or shut down the restaurant

It is an old Hospital turned Hostel so the buildings are quite old and it has an old rustic vibe. It is located inside the Chembra Estate and is very quiet and away from most of civilization. Only the people residing in the hostel are very loud. The hostel had a vibrant crowd and the hostel mates were mostly in their 20s. I travelled on a long weekend in January.

I had a great experience at Zostel Wayanad. Highly recommended for solo travellers. Met amazing people and the hosts are amazing! Only thing is the food could be much better and we should have more options since the place is far from any restaurants. Harris, Prince and Teressa are amazing hosts ❤️

The location, food and vibe is simply awesome and I had a wonderful stay... But i didn't like the rude and bitter behaviour of Shivangi (front desk girl). She should definitely apply for the post of a strict warden for college hostels. Being in the hospitality business, where working people come to enjoy their vacation, she should know how to speak politely. Prince, on the other hand, was very warm and welcoming. I absolutely loved everything about the place except Shivangi's rudeness because of which I am not giving it a 5 star rating.

Amazing location nestling in the foggy hills. Need to have own vehicle to properly explore the place. Decent food and stay. Warm, helpful people. Very near to Chembra peak. I suggest you booking an advanced stay for the day you plan for the Chembra trek. Must visit community for adult backpackers. 💯🙌🏻 Chembra trek. Wild animals could be spotted around. Do not roam around without a group of people. Always ask the reception before leaving after dusk.

Zostel plus Wayanad really disappointed. Food was not at all worthy. Many of the food which were in the menu was not available. We heard so many No’s from the cafe. And only North Indian food was available at the cafe. South Indian people have to go to the town to get their choice food which is 20 minutes away from the property. Otherwise we have to depend on auto rickshaw people to deliver the food. Cafe is not operational between 3pm to 6pm. So to get a tea in the evening all have to wait till 6pm. People will be coming and going in different timings, and also going for trekking and cycling happens in between morning 5am - 7am, everyone prefers a tea or coffee during that time. So cafe should be operational 18hrs. In short, zostel cafe is not supportive. Menu and restaurant timings need to be displayed in the zostel website. Also there should be provision to order through online. Ambience was good. Cleanliness also well maintained. Would add richness if a host/DJ can be kept for the evening get together on weekends.

Had a lovely, peaceful and beautiful time over here. The hosts are great and take care of most of the things. Wifi works well in the common room (80 mbps). Food tastes good but too expensive for the no of items they offer. Better to cook by yourself or order from outside. Only disappointment was that geysers weren't working, hence we couldn't bathe as water was super chilled. Don't forget to get tickets for chembra peak from the counter 300m before the Zostel. You need to get the tickets on the same day. Max 200 people allowed in a day. The trek is moderate difficult but be careful during rainy season and also beware of leaches. Had a blast staying here. Thanks for the wonderful Hospitality.

Very lush green property located at a very remote location. It is a perfect property if you want to disconnect for a while. Certain elements in this property like the pool, amphitheatre, tree house etc. will keep you engaged. The Beds are wide and comfortable. The Location though, perfect for me would be slightly uncomfortable for certain people, since it is in the middle of forests and gets quite difficult to get in/out of here at night. You can easily come here solo and spend 3-4 days without getting bored in yourself, since they also have the Chembra peak trek and a waterfall very near to your stay. Also if you have some specific food requirements, please carry beforehand because after it gets dark, you will not be able to go anywhere. Though they have an in house cafe open till 9:30 in the night, which has very decent food, your special dietary needs might not be met in the middle of the night. Will surely visit again. 👍

My first Zostel stay travelling solo on my bike from Chennai. Location is in the middle of tea plantation. Simple and quick check-in process. Rooms were cozy with bath attached and separate locker space. Very spacious property and you do have two workstation locations - The one over the top of the hill was my favorite. Happened to bump into solo travelers, group of friends and had nice conversations. Food was simple and tasty. Pic of the property is the open air theatre where they aired the FIFA final match and the entire Zostel was in there watching it LIVE and it was a great vibe. After the game it was music time to shake our legs and wrapped up the day.

The place is big and great with lots of open space. It has its own vibes different from other hostels. The staff is great, polite, and friendly. The 8 and 6 bed dorms could be a bit more maintained. The 4 bed dorms are nice. The cafe is nice, however they need to maintain the taste of the food consistency. At times the food is great and at some point it is a heartbreak. Coffee, tea, juices are super. Overall hostel hygiene is good.

Great hostel with a beautiful outside area! Stuff is very friendly. Good place to stay if you want to hike Chembra Peak. The hostel also organizes many activities. Well, one thing I didn't like it's the food in the hostel. For the high prices, the food is not worth it, unfortunately.

The Zostel Plus in Wayanad is a gorgeous property sat high in the tea plantations near to Chembra Peak. You can literally just walk out the hostel into total beauty, and the hostel itself is architecturally interesting as it was once a hospital for the plantation workers. The vibe was great - we made great friends and enjoyed the music, though maybe not the hostel to come to if you want an early night. The main reception manager was brilliant - he was super friendly and very helpful, a really lovely guy. The laundry facility is free and communal to use though we found didn’t wash our clothes too well but we possibly overloaded it! The kitchen isn’t great, quality wise and also speed - but we mostly ate out anyway and if you walk down the road there are a few street stall places serving banana fry and omelet. The one big thing I’d mention is the difficultly of location. It’s a 40 minute minimum drive to Kalpetta where you can hire a motorbike from Royal Brothers (you need a proper bike license and international driving permit, they’re the real deal) - and it’s almost 20 minutes even just to the nearest small town - so I’d really recommend having a vehicle organised before you arrive.

Its a beautiful place located in the middle of the coffee plantation. Loved this place. Have lots of activites inside out of which few are 24 hours available. Neat and clean beds and bathrooms. They even provide us the rooms to refresh even after checkout. Wonderful services. 5 stars for this hotel and I wish all best for the team. Wow just loved my stay in Zostel Plus -Wayanad.

It was one of the best experiences staying at zostel wayanad. The location is amazing which is surrounded by tea plantations all over. If you want a quiet and relaxing vacation this is the place for you. The weather was quite pleasant and the views from the zostel were mesmerizing. The staff is very friendly and will help you with everything.

Amazing Zostel experience, where the property is right in the middle of a tea estate with scenic beauty. The services provided were above par and all the staffs were always ready for any assistance and the hospitality was stand out. The amenities have met the expectation. One could go for a small hike around the property and walk through the amazing unnamed trails around which one wouldn't find often. I felt like home and I am looking forward to stay again and may be more 😊 Thanks to the entire Zostel Wayanad team!

I had the best experience 😍 Met amazing bunch of people. The property is very beautiful. Harris and Teressa are so sweet and cool to talk to whenever you need. The food for vegetarians is a bit sad, but still manageable. I would still visit the place again for the vibe it has ❤

Beautiful place and a beautiful vibe! ♥️ City is a min of 5km far from the property but the property is nearby the Chembra peak trek starting point. Nestled in the middle of 800 acres Tea estate, a must have experience roaming around the plantations, see the cloud farm and the star farm just by looking up 🤩 Take a morning or evening hike on the road nearby but don't be roaming after dark since you are right there in the middle of jungle and shola jungles having the wild all around.

Fantastic location, very clean and well maintained, friendly staff and not that expensive. Had a great time and IMO it's the best or one of the best Zostels in Kerala. Food is a bit on the expensive side though, which is understandable considering the location. When you are there, do not forget to wake up early and watch the sun rise over the clouds. Highly recommended if you are looking for a place to stay in Wayanad.

Very clean property with well maintained dorms and washrooms. Enough space for parking and the common areas are very nice to hangout in. Harris and Prince are very helpful. There's a great sunrise spot behind the property.

I stayed here for 3 nights. The location is serene. Dorms are decent and washrooms are clean. They turn off the music around 10:30, so it's quite peaceful. The staff is very helpful.

Not worth it!!! Had to drive up to the top of some hill and on getting on top found out that all the rooms were full. If you are deciding to stay there, book before hand. Place was good from inside. Out outside it is very scary at night but view is good in morning.

So far the best Zostel property I have visited/stayed in mainly because of the location. Also the architecture and the layout of the place is unlike any other, you're right in the lap of nature. So many cool spots to chill around.

The location of the place is excellent. I opted for an 8 bedded dorm. The room and the toilet was very clean. The services and facilities provided are also excellent. The only issue is the stray dogs there running everywhere, entering the rooms and sitting on the couches provided. That is something that should be dealt with by the management. Otherwise it's excellent.

It's a very beautiful property to stay. Rooms are well maintained. Staff is very friendly. Food is good. Their speciality is North Indian food. The views from here is just mesmerizing. You can get up early in the morning and even have a chance to witness cloud bed and amazing sunrise. You can also get to do ATV rides or mountain biking. Highly recommended

Had an amazing stay here, all the staff were very friendly and courteous, the property was also very beautiful and if you walk around a bit you can explore a lot. Best part is that it's right on the way to Chembra peak so it's easier to get the ticket as well. Would definitely recommend staying here if traveling solo or in small groups.

Pros: The property is one of the best I have stayed at till now location wise. The property is a vacation in itself with the surrounding tea estates and the hills. It is centrally located in the Wayanad district. The places of interest in Wayanad are at a distance of 1 hr drive in all directions from the Zostel. The hosts/volunteers Adira & Prince and helpful. It's a peaceful getaway. Cons: The property is located on the Chembra Peak road, close to the trekking base point. If you don't have your own transport then you have to depend on Autos. There are no food options around so you have to go all the way out to Meppadi town for the same. The property restaurant serves overpriced food with mediocre quality food with less quantity. The 6 bed female dorm is small in size with a really small bathroom. I would recommend you go with the mixed Dorm.

Set amongst the tea plantation, property location is excellent. We loved the vibe here. The property has so much to offer for all kind of people. The view of Chembra peak on one side and valley on other side is amazing. Commute is bit of a hassle, however, that's taken care by the zostel team who is ready to help with anything and everything.

Very peaceful place. Can stay in Zostel itself instead of touring around. It has great views and amazing property. Can meet new people and interact. Love the hospitality of this place. Food was decent. Great destination for a reasonable price.

Perfect place, perfect facilities. The only slight disappointment is the cafe facility in zostel. Have been to other hostels before and I really think cafe timings and food options can be improved a lot. Taste of food was excellent though.

Very beautiful and the best homestay we stayed till now . It has an amazing view all around it . people who come with group of friends can enjoy all kinds of activities there and even it provides a very good ambience to solo trip person. The rooms were neat and people were nice. Although we request you to have a seperate smoking area because that was only thing which bothered us little except that everything else was good.
