Pazhassi tomb in Kalpetta in Wayanad district is a memorial to Pazhassi Raja - 'the Lion of Kerala’. The tomb was constructed in the place where his body was cremated, and is situated on the banks of Kabani river in Mananthavady. In March 1996, this tomb was converted to museum and today the museum is a centre in the state which attracts historians, researchers and students. The museum also contains Pazhassi Raja's sword and other information about the cultural history of Kerala.

DOV: 11April2012 'Pazhassiraja museum' is located in Manathvady, Wayanad. This is a great place to visit if you love history. It contains various weapons used by Pazhassiraja and his soldiers including swords and bows and arrows. It also contains different utensils used during Pazhassi period. There is also a garden outside where kids can play. Also there are historical details including the report prepared by Malabar collector containing the fall of Pazhassi. It also contains the place where he was buried. Full Day Recommendation: You have 4.5 Hours of journey from first to last - So if u have time split the same across 2 days 1. Soochipara (Early morning) 2. Edakkal Caves (Morning) 3. Kuruvadweep (Afternoon) 4. Pazhassiraja Museum (Evening) 5. Banasura Dam (Evening)

A beautiful and calm place. Must visit in the evening around 4pm. It closes at 5pm. The place is very neat and calm. Indeed a very peaceful place. The garden is very beautiful with very beautiful flowers and plants. The workers are also very kind hearted. They do have a entry fee of 10 or 20 rupees, don't remember the exact amount. But do visit the place to enjoy the beauty and serenity of the place.

Great scenic view, with a good staff maintaining a small but nice garden, a museum displaying heritage and the way of living was in Wayanad. One can spend about an hour here.

The memorial made in the memory of Veera Pazhassi Raja and its maintained by State archeology. Inside the memorial, there is an art gallery where the work of known artist Raja Ravi Varma is one display. Its open in all days except national holidays and on Hartal days.

Pazhassi Raja (3 January 1753 – 30 November 1805) was known as Kerala Varma and was also known as Cotiote Rajah and Pychy Rajah. He was a warrior Hindu prince and de facto head of the kingdom of Kottayam , This is a small museum and only need to spend 30-45 minutes to see all the stuff, those who are interested in history would enjoy.

Best place in the area to explore and understand the past. Good museum, nice artifacts. I enjoyed every moment when visiting that place. There was so much to know. The place also provides a nice view, and can be relaxing.

Not worth the money I spent i think this place is for “ Those who love history". But I think they will to regret it!! ;). Its like a park with nothing. And for taking photos we have to pay extra fee's. For me it's not worth the money and there's nothing too see much -_-.

The museum on its own doesn’t have much to do with king Pazhassi. Most of the exhibits are the hits used in the old days, the coins used in the old days, sketches of various other figures and their tombs and finally copy prints of the kings list of Offenders. There ain’t a lot of history mentioned about the king, it’s maintenance’s decently.
