The tomb was constructed in the place where his body was cremated, and is situated on the banks of Kabani river in Mananthavady. In March 1996, this tomb was converted to museum and today the museum is a centre in the state which attracts historians, researchers and students. The museum also contains Pazhassi Raja's sword and other information about the cultural history of Kerala.

A historic spot with Pazhassi Rajas tomb and a museum related to the events. But the property as a whole is like a maintained park with lots of trees. Perfect spot to rest and have a chat.

Heavenly place simply outstanding!!! I respect and bow to this great king who fought against the British till his last breadth. Never surrendered to their demands and fought for his land. This is the place where his remains are kept. He wad given the highest respect by the then Sub Collector of Manantavady town. It's a simple place where you will find a small garden along with a museum where some old artifact's of the Kings era are kept. They have also described se events related to Manantavady and its history. You will see the tribal house replica inside the gallery. The whole place is kept clean and entry charges are around 10 per adult. Overall a calm and beautiful place.

It was a good experience. Got to see the history of pazhassi carved on the sides of its tomb. The museum had a lot of native antiques which were well preserved. It also has a very nature friendly atmosphere with a variety of decorative and herbal plants

Well maintained. But there's nothing much to see other than tomb. A small museum and park is also there. But to attract ppl, should bring more things.

Pazhassi tomb in Kalpetta in Wayanad district is a commemoration to Pazhassi Raja - 'the Lion of Kerala’. The burial was constructed in the place where his body was cremated and is located on the banks of the Kabani River in Mananthavady. In March 1996, this tomb was converted into a museum and today the museum is a centre in the state that attracts historians, researchers and students. The museum also contains Pazhassi Raja's sword and other information about the cultural history of Kerala. I can't understand why people👤 are giving it less than 4️⃣ stars ✨ as this place has historical importance and it is well retained. What do they expect from this picnic place? Pazhassi Raja was recognised for his valour and rebellion against the British. And this memorial tomb is constructed at the spot where he was cremated. A museum nearby showcases the prized occupancies of the king. It also provides a glimpse of the local heritage and culture. Pazhassi Raja Museum has an exquisite exhibition of weapons, utensils, furniture and other articles that belonged to the king. The premium attraction is his sword. You’ll also find various declarations and notes used during his rule. Other galleries in the museum exhibit a collection of rare coins, tribal artefacts and fine artworks of the well-known artist Raja Ravi Varma.

Must visit place at Wayanad for history lovers. It is situated very near to Mananthavady town, close to Government Hospital. We reached there by 4.45 PM since it was a very tight schedule. Staff members were about to leave and they were reluctant to issue tickets even though it is open till 5 PM. Pazhassi tomb is protected properly. Rich history of Pazhassi rebellion is shown in the gallery.

Interesting Museum, you get to learn history of Waynad. Letters of British officers against Indian rebels, very old coins, sword, bow and arrow, hero stone (ವೀರ ಕಲ್ಲು), lot of interesting items used by tribals can be seen here, and many others. There is no scenic view outside or near the Tomb.
