Pretty good trek of moderate difficulty with the climb getting steep at times. Recommend shoes with very good grip and a strong stick (especially while climbing down). Trek takes about 4 hours up and down. Trek does not go till the peak these days but takes a round at the heart shaped lake and comes back. It would have been good if the Trek was allowed till the peak. Points to note: Tickets have to be purchased from the counter at the base of the hill, carry cash as the phone might not have connectivity, one group of people gets charged 1.7k. Ticket counter opens at 7 but queue starts early, only 200 people allowed so go early for tickets on weekends and holidays. Water streams from drinking water is available midway so no need to carry extra water bottles. Leeches might be there but not very problematic. Views from the hill are excellent and mist is frequent even during noon times Suggestion: Hope forest department can make the ticket purchase online and avoid the queues and the time getting lost waiting for tickets (and also issues of carrying cash). Also make it per head ticket cost

Really nice 3-4 hour trek. First you need to get tokens from the forest department and the then they allow groups to go for the trek in order. The price is around 800 rs for a group of up to 10 people. The trek itself is really nice, a little steep and requires good knees. It is also very scenic. Make sure to go early otherwise it gets very hot.

5 star for the beautiful place. Its a 2 hour hike from the bottom. But it's worth it. The view at the top is so beautiful and nature is well preserved there. Those who love trekking can visit this. Note : This place is very hard to reach, not because of terrain or accessibility but due to the mentality of people working there. Only 200 people are permitted there per day. As per timing the tickets start around 6:00 am which is actually a joke. Half of the people will be there with recommendations. They can enter the place without any time limits or even without tickets! Regular people will have to come around 3:00 am to get tickets or better camp there from midnight if its a weekend. Better to come if you know a friend of a friend there😅. Such a discrimination to enter a tourist spot. I will give -5 start for the experience from staff and services there.

Amazing experience of trekking. Only 200 people are allowed in a day that too till 12 p.m. in the afternoon(entry time), so there is no rush you can have adventure in peace 😜 Entry fees -750+tax for trekking. There are other things to do also apart from trekking but if when you are visiting the peak, you will love the view 🪟 The heart shaped lake is just hyped 😅

Climbing up was kind of difficult. That's because we usually don't do any walking on a daily basis. When you come here you do a lot of walking suddenly. That's why it was kind of difficult going up the hill. Coming down the hill was easy and exciting. I would recommend you to take 1 litre bottle with water per person as it would get thirsty on the way. I would also recommend you to have an umbrella or a rain coat as it's gonna drizzle constantly at the top. Wear long sleeved and full pants. Track pants is fine.

Really enjoyed this wonderful trek, total trek distance is 5km, you can enjoy very scenic view towards the journey. Little difficult trek and the hardest part is descending, in few places soft sand makes so slippery you have to be careful. We went on Feb 2nd week it is weekday so there is no crowd, carry some snacks and water. Trekking fee is 1770 for 5 members and additional 256 for every extra person.

Forest department allows only 200 people per day for trekking. On reaching the place, buy the tokens and wait till 7am to collect the entry tickets. During weekends, crowd will be more. So plan to reach by 5:30am at least. I went on weekday and was able to get the ticket even after 7am. You just need to make group of 5 trekkers inorder to get trek tickets. If you are solo or couple, manage to join other trekkers and make a group of 5 or 10. Trek fee is 1700rs for group of 5 people. Though the Trek is 1.5km on one side, it is moderate to difficult trek as it is steep in most of the places. Trek is enjoyable as you will trek through jungle, grasslands and rocks. Trekking is allowed only till the heart shaped lake which is very scenic. On reaching the lake, mist might disappoint you initially but wait for mist to disappear. Take some fruits or light food and a water bottle as there are limited food options over there and you definitely need some energy to return from the top!!

This is a review from our trip in the last week of September 2023. We went there on a Friday and unlike most reviewers here, we were able to get our tickets and we hardly waited. We were at the checkpoint at 6:30 am and got our tickets at 7 am. At the entrance, all your water bottles and snacks will be marked with stickers that cost 50 rupees and are refundable once you get back down. Do buy the rain covers at this checkpoint to protect yourself from the rain. There's a car parking space a little ahead of the entrance. Right after that, there's a hut where an Uncle makes absolutely the most delicious breakfast from dosas, maggi, omelette and tea amongst others. Definitely have a good breakfast before starting the trek. At the second checkpoint, your bags will be checked and you'll be frisked. Be sure to not carry cigarettes or alcohol bottles (none of which are allowed). There's a toilet for both men and women if you want to use them at the starting point, a kilometre from the second checkpoint but it's not clean at all. As for the trek, it's of moderate difficulty. It's the views that take your breath away, not the strain of the trek. Wear full shoes since you're highly likely to get bitten by leeches. There are small sized rocks to climb at places and in rainy weather, be slow and careful to not slip and fall. The peak has the heart shaped lake and depending on the number of people at the peak, you can get the most beautiful photographs and enjoy weather like you've probably never experienced before. The same path will take you down as well. Make sure you reach the checkpoint within 5 pm. As usual, help nature stay clean and beautiful!

A peak with heart shaped lake. Only 200 people are allowed every day. So one needs to collect the token in the early morning and the Trek starts by 7am. Talking about the Trek the climbing is steep. Please avoid the Trek in rainy season or if it has rained a night before it can be very slippery. It's a very narrow path with slippery soil. Wear proper hiking shoes for grip. Climbing up is still fine but climbing down can be bit risky and needs a care.

It's a really good trek with moderate difficulty. Please don't trek with high expectations of a serene view at the top, then you might be disappointed. The trek in itself is worth it, it's pretty exhilarating and a test to your endurance. You have to reach at the base before 5:00 am, tickets are limited and the first 200 will get to trek on that day. You have to be in groups of five and the rate for a group is 1770. If you are trekking solo then better team up with someone for the entry tickets' sake. You will get 3 hours to complete the trek and start your journey back to the first checkpoint. So the time is limited, they have volunteers all the way to the top at certain points, they will ask you to leave once your time's up. It's a pretty good experience, the trail is quite challenging, try it for once. Best time to visit will be Nov-Feb. PS: You'll get water from the hills at the base camp, we collected it in bottles and drank from it but later when we noticed there was algae in it but none of us got sick. So you can either go with it or carry your own water. Trust me you'll need at least a litre of it.

It is great place to visit. If your coming to wayanad it is a must visit spot. Week days it wound be busy and the tickets are available on that day only. Weekend and holiday to get ticket you must reach their by around 5 am. First the peak feel hard but when you starts to climb it feels easy and can get a beautiful view of half of wayanad and moving clouds below as. That should get down within the time denoted in the ticket.

Such an adventurous experience it was. We had a great time with our friends. The view up hill is one to be experienced. The heart shaped lake is a wonder! Difficulty level is medium, while ascending if it rains it would be a bit difficult. The place is well maintained and every 500mts there's a guard assigned. The trekking ticket price is Rs.750per group.

Best trekking experience with amazing view. The ticket counter will open only at 7.00am, weekdays we can find less crowd and weekends a bit crowded. The entry fee is 1700 for 5 people and it is same for even 1 person better team up and climb otherwise we can make teams there itself with other people and share the ticket fee. Since the ticket opening is at 7. 00 am we will miss out the sunrise. There Will be guards every 100 or 200 mtrs and they are very helpful and friendly. Experience, explore, learn, travel, enjoy and create memories ✨🤗🤗

Limited number of tickets everyday - 200+ Have to be there by 4AM and take the token for the Trek tickets. After 7Am they will start giving the trekking tickets. It will be above 8AM to start the trek. Better to bring your own snacks and breakfast in your vehicle. Only Maggie and the bread omelet are available there. The trek part will take around 4hrs for two sides, get the stickers on ur water bottles for taking them to the peak point and when u get down submit the bottles and you can get your deposit money(50/- per bottle).

It was my first experience In trek i had. Never before and It takes around 3 hours to complete Chembra Peak trek at a comfortable pace. It will take about an hour, on foot, to reach the watchtower. And from there, it is another 2-hour trek to the heart lake, through the tea plantations, forests and meadows. There, you can rest for an hour or walk around enjoying the views,

It was a great experience. Trekking is totally upward. Once you reach real enjoyment of the heart shaped lake. The panoramic view of small towns below and high peaks behind are of great peace of mind. The rangers support is motivated at every point. Forest rangers are kind enough to explain the route. We were two people in the car but had to pay 1770/- which is for 5 people.

I liked the idea of regulated tourism at this place. Only 200 people are allowed each day, as we were going on a weekend we had to reach the ticket office at 5 am in the morning to reserve the spot and get the tickets at 7 am. We started Trek around 8 am and reached the lake below Chembra peak at 9 am. The heart shaped lake was very beautiful and the view from the top as well.

It’s a beautiful place with a great view from top. Also, there’s a trekking available from morning 7am -12 pm. If you’re late, they don’t let you go for trek. Other timings, you can go and just see the view around. Also, it’s a great place to visit only in the morning, otherwise in afternoon it’s very hot and sunny. You might not enjoy the view due to the extreme humid.

This place is very nice to experience nature very closely. 2km one way trekking is not that much easy, better wear nice grip shoes. Carry cash to buy tickets (min 400 each) Carry your snacks. Try to leave early morning to get tickets 🎫. Enjoy 😍

It is a nice experience and moderate trekking. You need to be as early as 5 am to ensure your spot, especially if it is on the holiday season and weekends. Weekdays are not usually busy but again it will depend on your luck. No advance booking is available. Trekking fees are 1770 for 5 people. If you are alone pair with someone else otherwise you need to pay the full amount. At the moment there is no guided tours. Try to travel light, carry your own drink bottle and small refreshments also a good pair of shoes is advisable. Some times the way and top is covered in white fog and you may not be able to experience the view from top however, that will be a different experience.

It was very tough to trek, with a good view at the top and overall it was a great experience. For Trekking we have to go there by 3 am to book the tickets. But they are allowing only 200 people in a day, it will be helpful if they allow extra people in the weekend because I saw so many people go back disappointed without tickets. Digital payment is also not there.

Only 200 people are allowed to visit the place per day. Reach by 5 or 5.30 depends on the crowd, to buy the tickets. Tickets can't be bought online. Even offline, everyone should be there in person. Need to stand in the queue to use the restroom. It takes around 3 to 4 hours to complete the trekking which includes climbing up and returning back.

Must visit spot in wayanad. This is a protected forest area under the kerala govt. So you need to take the pass. One thing to note is that the amount is 850 for 10 person and amount remains same if you are travelling solo also. So it is better to gather few people from there and form a group of 10 in order to reduce the per head expense. Also to take the pass you need to give your 2nd vaccination number. Talking about the spot, you need to trek almost 3km to reach the spot and 3km back. The difficulty of the trek , I would say (6/10). You need to climb up the hill through narrow and steep passages. During wet season the difficulty increases. The passage feels little risky at some places. Descending the hill is also a task, You may feel out of control and may move quickly downwards. The main attraction is a non depleting pond at the top of the hill which is shaped like a heart. You can also get the view of vast forest landscape. Strong winds and moving mist gives an extra touch. December is the best time to visit.

Best place. Trekking difficulty is medium. There were forest guards allocated for about each 20 mins of hiking. Checking is strict. You need to pay for taking camera. Drones are not allowed. Plastic bottles need to be shown to them and they will mark it with a sticker which costs refundable 50 rupees. You need to show it to them after returning to get the refund. They should do this for all the plastic wastes such as food packets etc. Suggestion: Make a group of 10 people before reporting there for token. As of now they are allowing only upto 200 people per day, and they take about 800 rs per team (of upto 10). So best way is to speak with someone and make a group of 10 to get most economical price. Once you get a token you can't negotiate for additional people. They won't allow that. Negatives: 1. Process is made so complicated and wastes lots of time. We reported there around 6 but our trekking started only after 8.30AM. 2. Why they take money per group, where as they calculate total number of people allowed per head? They can simplify this just by taking money per head. They're not assigning a guard per team, anyway. Why a group of two or three should pay 800 rs?! 3. They give token/tickets in one place, take money for parking in another place and do a strict checking in yet another place. This wastes lots of time and complicates the process. They could have done all these at one place and save lots of time and energy and avoid confusions. 4. You need to wait for hours at ticket counter and there's only one washroom there. But I'm giving 5/5 just for the whole trekking experience and view from the top of the hill.

Trekking to the top is more beautiful, but the 2 km steep trekking is not easy. Family with aged not recommended. Bachelor groups are the best. View from the top and it is so high even compared with other trekking in Wayanad

It takes 1.5 hours to reach till the love lake. Sharp hill. Timing is from morning 7am to 12 noon. Around 800₹ is charged. The forest people will charge 50 rs., for plastic bottles,l and will refund the amount at the time of return.

One of the best and beat trucking place in wayanad. It is the one of the highest peak in wayanad. In a day only 200 person can visit. The authority has restricted the total number of visitors due to the lack of unconditional behaviour to the spot. The visitor has to reach early morning on 7 am for trucking. The guide will help the visitor for trucking. The most highlighted thing is that the top of the hill is having a Lake, the shape of lake is like a ❤️ heart shape. The couple can enjoy it very perfectly. The ticket price for 8 member is 750 It is better to go in a Group.

  • 4/5 Abhinav M. 2 years ago on Google
The experience was awesome. The view from the top will make all your trekking difficulties vanish... If you are a first timer make sure you carry atleast 1liter water bottle(glucose water is recommend), wear comfortable clothes (try avoiding shorts as there are many leeches) wear shoes with good grip and out of all motivate yourself to reach the top.

It's a must visit place for people who love beautiful views and don't mind some physical activity. The 1 and a half hour trek is very enjoyable. Do take note that only limited people are allowed per day. So especially if you're going on a weekend plan to reach very early.

Great trek experience in Wayanad. This is a easy to moderate level trek. The top view points are amazing. The entry ticket is 1500 plus GST for a group of 5 members or less. Only 200 people are allowed here on a daily basis. So there is no issue on weekdays but if you are visiting on weekends then try to visit before 6 am to take tickets.usually trek starts at 7 am daily.

  • 5/5 Shreyya B. 1 year ago on Google
It's a beautiful and perfect trekking spot in Wayanad. It's a must visit place for all trek lovers. They mention you need to reach by 5 am and trek starts at 7 am which is not really the case. We started the trek at around 8:30 am and it took around 4 hours to and fro but I must say it was one of a kind. For beginners it is a moderately difficult one. You have guards at almost every 1 km and at the peak also they have guards. If you are a beginner carry a trekking stick, it would be easier for grip because while coming down the way is not that easy. You wouldn’t get any grip so a stick might help. There’s a heart shaped lake once u reach the peak. It was a great experience for us. If you’re in Wayanad and love adventure do try this trek.

  • 5/5 Raviteja M. 11 months ago on Google
Loved this place. Looks amazing and breathtaking. I wouldn't say this is a easy trek rather it is a moderate level. It would be definitely tiring. A good time to trek is in winters or early summers definitely not in rainy seasons unless you are a professional trekker. It is totally slant at a few places. But the place is totally worth for the effort you spent in trekking. You can experience clouds only if you trek early. But, the trek ticket will be issued from 7am only and then ticket issue process will take atleast 1 hr for 200 members maximum allowed per day. So it would be good if you get a ticket early and start trekking. Many security guards are deployed to take care of neatness in the surroundings.

  • 5/5 Mohamed M. 4 months ago on Google
Moderately challenging trekking to reach the top. Not recommended for children. The ticket counter opens at 7 am but highly recommended to take the token upfront(before 7 am token will be available), only 200 people can go to the trekking in a day.

  • 4/5 arpita c. 5 months ago on Google
The trek is steep ascent with no proper trail for most parts. Proper trekking shoes will be helpful. Also, you don't get to trek to the peak top per se. Views from the top are beautiful with specific viewing points aside of the original viewing points as well. Carry water since the ascend is steep

  • 5/5 Tavish N. 6 months ago on Google
The view and wind are great. Very calm and soothing experience. You have to reach early before 6 because there is only limited number of tickets available and you have to register when you reach. You will be given ticket after 7 based on if there are no elephants on the peak, otherwise they might cancel also. 1700 price of ticket for a group of 5. There are two checkpoints after start also so you will need to travel in groups, so better to take independent ticket if you are in group of 3-4 rather than trying to save money by grouping with randoms.

Chembra Peak in Wayanad is a trekker's paradise. The journey through the lush forest, the heart-shaped lake, and the final ascent to the summit offer breathtaking views that are nothing short of spectacular. Be prepared for a challenging but rewarding adventure into the heart of nature. Don't forget comfortable shoes and a local guide for a truly unforgettable experience.

  • 5/5 Biswajit M. 11 months ago on Google
Very good hike of decent ascent. It seemed easy at first but became challenging as we climbed higher. The forest officials were supportive and were present at checkpoints for help. If you are lucky you might even experience elephant sighting

  • 5/5 Vikas V. 5 months ago on Google
Situated 2100 m above sea level, Chembra is the highest peak in Wayanad district and lives up to its billing of being a picturesque location as the route to the peak is past waterfalls and lush greenery. Chembra has managed to maintain its pristine nature over the years, and many exotic species of rare flora and fauna can be seen here. It is a prime spot for trekking and guided tours are available and necessary to make the climb.

  • 5/5 Gokul S. 10 months ago on Google
For anyone who is physically inactive will find the trekking difficult. But don't hesitate to give it a try. Half way through the trek, I thought I made a mistake but when I got to the top, it was one of the best experiences of my life. The view is secondary. The real adventure is the trekking only. There will be a hidden water tap which you can find in the midst of the mountain. Pregnant women, old people and anyone whose legs can't put on much work are not encouraged to try this. Make sure you wear shoes with nice grip. This will be such a memorable experience! The tickets are limited to 300 per day and it will be sold out as quickly as 7-7:30 AM, so plan to reach there as early as possible. Take atleast 3 water bottles with you.

  • 5/5 Vignesh M. 6 months ago on Google
Moderately difficult trek, shoes are definitely recommended. Good views at the peak and along the path. It's weird that they want to group by people of 5 while getting entrance ticket but this grouping isn't required at all during the trek (looks like earlier each group had a guide, which they stopped now and we now only have guards every 500m but didn't change how ticket system works) . Definitely worth a try.

👍👍 Going during the rainy season can be dangerous for those who have difficulty climbing the mountain.
