One of the best sunrise points ever been. The view from the top is heavenly. To reach the view point we need to trek for 1 km. 2 wheelers can be taken till the parking area. A homestay is present next to the hill, which serves breakfast and coffee.

I recently had the pleasure of visiting Kurumbalakotta Viewpoint, and it proved to be a hidden gem that offered a breathtaking perspective of the surrounding landscape. Nestled amidst lush greenery, this viewpoint provided a stunning panoramic view that left me in awe of nature's beauty. One of the best place to watch sunrise.

They are multiple ways to visit the view point. One route will take you to top, another you need to moderate trek(climb steep). Visit for sunrise. You will get chai and noodles at top. 2 shops are available at top. You camp at this view point. Check with local find a right time to visit or else all you find is foggy till 8-9am. When we visited it full of foggy, sun didnโ€™t show up.

Kurumbalakotta is one of the most beautiful viewpoint. There is no entry fee for Kurumbalakotta Hills and is located 20 kilometers away from Kalpetta town and one can reach Kamblakkad junction by road. Facing the south were the hills, by no means as imposing as mighty mountains, but pleasantly awe-inspiring with their verdure. Atop the hill, facing the eastern skies, one beheld the pale gold light emerge in a swift sunrise. North of the hills lay the city, and as one beheld the summits of its tall structures under the clear blue skies aglow with the golden brilliance, one felt the dawning on the city of a spell of a new hope

It's around 20 min or trekking. The view point is good. I went at the evening, also heard form the locals that you can see clouds near you if you reach the top in the morning time.

It was a great experience to trek the kurumbalakota hill in March 2022. It took around 45 min to reach the top. There are two ways to reach the top. If you dont want to take risk its better you choose the vehicle accessible road, though it is longer. The place is absolutely mind blowing. You can watch the sunrise and enjoy a cup of black tea. There are 2 shops which sells snacks. Even though waste bins are provided I saw bottles and plastic packets all around the view point. Authorities can only provide you with the facilities , it is your responsibility to use them. Be a responsible traveller. Thank you.

So, being honest, untill and unless u r really that fit, which i was not. Don't trek thinking that u will reach on time for the sunrise . If your goal is not sunrise, go as per ur pace. Note that the difficulty level is basic only, but it does take some time. Plus, jeeps are available at the start, 600 includes both ways. You can opt for that. it's usually crowded during holiday. Have that in mind. There are no entry fees, and I had enuf space for car parking. i didn't find any issues with car parking even during peak time. So note that u can take ur vehicles till top, bike are cars there is a paid parking spot 350mts b4 the peak. Bike and scooters will reach, but effort is required. Cars until and unless u have a 4x4 and really good ground clearance, and u know how to drive pretty good avoid. The 1st few sections are concentrated, so it will look good . Fun starts after that. The roads are really narrow in most places that 2 cars can not go parallel . Have fun ๐Ÿ‘

If you are lucky enough you will see the sun rise through mountains. We couldnโ€™t see it because of heavy snow. You can either walk to the top or hire jeep.

Kurumbalakotta Known for its breathtaking sunrise view is one hidden gem of wayand. Not everyone knows this place, as it is a private property not govt. one. The highlight is the sunrise above the cloud carpet. Golden rays of sun above the clouds creates a mesmerizing scene. One could experience a "cloud below, earth above" kind of view. But the only thing is that you have to be there at the right time and the right season. Best time to visit is between November and January. And the climb is a little difficult. Remember to carry water with you.

One of my favourite spots in Wayanad, Iโ€™ve personally trekked the mountain 4 times. Itโ€™s an easy to medium level trek. If youโ€™re in it for the view Iโ€™d recommend you start the trek at 4:30am, youโ€™ll reach the peak by 5:15 and see the place go from pitch black to beautiful. Highly recommend the trek.

I had an unforgettable experience at Kurumbalakotta Viewpoint in Wayanad. We embarked on a challenging trek, choosing the tough route instead of the road, starting our ascent at 4:30 am. The camaraderie with friends made the trek enjoyable, even without drinking water. As fatigue set in, some friends paused, but we persevered and reached the summit. The panoramic view from the top, with clouds resembling an aerial view, was breathtaking. Witnessing the sunrise amidst the clouds was truly stunning. The cool breeze added to the magic of this must-visit viewpoint in Wayanad. A remarkable adventure and an ideal spot for nature enthusiasts!

Kurambolakotta Viewpoint promises a memorable blend of adventure and tranquility. Accessible via a Rs 600 jeep ride, the 350-meter trek adds a moderate thrill. The panoramic views at the top are a stunning reward, making the journey worthwhile. The presence of small tapris offering Maggie, omelette, and beverages like tea and coffee adds a delightful touch, making it an ideal spot for a refreshing break amidst nature. Perfect for those seeking a short trek with an adventurous twist, good food, and a picturesque payoff.

Awesome place for sunrise. Sea of clouds and mountaintops peeking from the clouds. Serene and breathtaking. The top could be maintained a bit better but the views are surreal. Go early morning for the best views! The cloud cover might fade later on!

A very good place , you will have to trek at least 1km from the base. The trek is of medium difficulty, make sure you have proper footwear as it can get very slippery if it rains and it will be extremely difficult to climb down . It takes around 20-30 mins to climb to the top. There are 2 view points and both are very good. Sunrise here is excellent although we were not able to see anything as it had rained the day before and it was completely covered in mist

It's always a matter of luck. If God blesses us, we can witness a bed of clouds; otherwise, the place is still okay.

The view from the top is amazing. The cool weather also makes it an amazing experience. You can reach the top by local jeep service offered there or by foot. It is preferable to choose the jeep service as there is a long distance to walk and it will be very tiring.

Due to fog and rain clouds couldn't get the chance to see the correct visuals from top of the mountain. In my opinion this is really one time watchable spot. Try to come before sunrise then you can experience the nature vibe. Though jeeps are there I preferred walk in this journey. Hardly 1.5 km from parking area but walking is not that much easy. Better to take water if you go by walk. Spent 40 for parking. Overall it is a good spot.

I would give a 4 star rating because we can camp on the view point anytime in a day without any permissions. And the sunrise view from the view point is good, sometimes itโ€™s depending on your luck, if you are lucky then you will witness to watch a cloud bed down the view point

You will undoubtedly witness one of the best surprises but before you start .... 1. It's a long trek before you reach the top with a difficult pathway and no instructions 2. If you are starting early in the morning in dark, carry a proper bright torch and good trekking shoes as you will get sharp edge stones on the way. It's a must activity if you are in wayanad and love trekking.

It's a wonderful place, early morning is the best time for visit. There is a man in the top selling tea. And overall it's fun. Climbing up is sometimes difficult when it comes to rainy season .And when the fog covers, it might be difficult to even find the path you came.
