A beautiful and peaceful place in middle of the town. This temple is situated in Sulthan bathery exactly in the main town. When we sit there, we can experience a nice and beautiful peaceful day. No noise at all. Full of positive vibes. Entry to the place is free. You guys must visit this temple.

The temple is very attractive and pleasing. It is said to have been built during the 13th century period and is part of the Vijayanagar Dynasty. It is protected by the Archaeological Survey of India. It is a must visit place for the ones who love the grandeur and mystique architectural wonders.

The Jain Temple in Sulthan Bathery(known as Sultan's battery house)is one of the most important among the many Jain temples in Kerala. Dating back to the 13th century, the temple is said to have been built in the prevalent architectural style of the then reigning Vijayanagar dynasty. The town of Sulthan Bathery was earlier known as Ganapathi Vattam and had 12 traditional Jain streets in and around the town. After Tipu's attack, the temple was destroyed about 150 years and made this as his armoury storage. Later the Archaeological Survey of India took over the maintenance and declared it a monument of national importance. The courtyard is well laid with lawns and ornamental plants now. Location: At a distance of 24 km from Kalpetta & 1 km from Sulthan Bathery Bus Station, Jain Temple is an ancient temple located in the heart of Sulthan Bathery town in Wayanad district. Timming: 8 AM to 6 PM Entry fee: free

13th century stone carved temple. Quite an important monument maintained by the archeological department . Calm and peaceful atmosphere, clean and well maintained. there is no garbha griha or poojas done here now, It's just a heritage building and people who love history will like it. It's a small area and can be covered in 10-15 mins

Not much anxiety needed to visit here. Just a jain temple which is owned by the central governemnt. Nothing special except the calm and quiete relaxing climate there. Poeple who love archeology or study that must visit here. There are carvings of granite in the bulding structure. There are much better options to attract tourism here but i think the government is not cared about it.

The Jain temple at Sultan Bathery is believed to have been built in 13th century. The architecture of the temple has strong influences of the then Vijayanagar architectural style and it is made wholly of granite. Free entry for every one. Nothing much attractive but it's very historical place.

A very rare remains of ancient Jaina tradition in Kerala. Its a Jewel of importance as far as a study of vanished religious culture. Also os a sign to show how negligence we the successors of a glorious tredition. Now its a mere remains of those stone as there is no idols seen here. A detailed survey in the surrounding areas may reveal some more history. Now its under the care of ASI. A must see place for lover's and students of our history and tradition.

The Kidanganad Jain Temple holds a rich history that dates back centuries. Believed to have been established in the 9th century, this temple stands as a testament to the architectural and artistic prowess of the Jain community. The architectural splendor of the Kidanganad Jain Temple is truly awe-inspiring. The temple is adorned with intricate sculptures depicting various Jain deities, celestial beings, and mythical creatures.

For people who like history and architecture. Very unassuming place, one might not even notice the entrance if you weren't looking for it. Quite an important monument but it's a small area and could be covered in 5 mins if one is not interested in the architecture or history.

Easily accessible from the town. Parking may become an issue since it is at the centre of the town and no separate parking ground available. I visited during the weekdays in February. Only a few local college students were there- no rush, no tickets. Ancient temple is protected properly. Must visit place for those who love history.

The ancient Jain temple at Wayanad is a captivating blend of spirituality and history. Nestled amidst lush greenery, its intricate architecture and ancient carvings transport visitors to a bygone era. The serene ambiance fosters a sense of tranquility, making it an ideal place for contemplation. While the temple's simplicity may lack the grandeur of some others, its cultural and historical significance make it a must-visit for those seeking a deeper connection with India's rich heritage.

13th century stone carved temple. Little the inside garbha griha was locked, but still a good place to see the heritage of India past.

Amazing 1600 year old architecture. One time visit is at-least must. Also nearby is a church which is really beautiful on the same road. So you can cover 2 things in a couple of hour.

This ancient jain temple is a nice and calm place in the centre of town. One of those places where U can sit calm and introspect. Loved it. U will not know about it unless U search for it specifically. A small entrance and a stone paved walkway. It's maintained by ASI. So, no more a place of worship, but monument.❤

Beautiful structure from 13th century. Massive stone blocks stacked to built this structure. Different Jain Thirthankaras, animals, birds, flowers are beautifully carved into the walls and pillars of this structure. Calm and quite place to visit. Though visit is restricted to 10 mins but you can stay there as long as you want as there is no one monitoring. Structure is protected by ASI. Friendly place for people with disabilities.

When you are visiting wayanad and if you have some time to kill I will suggest you to visit this place. It's a very calm place. You can complete visit in just 10 minutes.

Situated at the middle of Sulthan Bethery town and on the way to Muthanga, this is an add on place you could add to your wayanad expedition. Could spend a peaceful evening sitting in this ancient place. Hardly takes 10 minutes to visit whole place through.

It was really painful 😔 to see that such an ancient Jain temple is not maintained as per the set standards of the Archeological Survey of India and has now become an abode to the lovebirds who spoil the sanctity of this pious place. This digambar Jain temple, said to have been destroyed by Tipu Sultan in the 18th century is a clear evidence of thriving Jainism in this part of India.

It's nearby walkable distance from sultan bathery bus station. This place is quite and simple ancient building. There nothing much to see here. But you can just visit for once.

It's a beautiful historic importance site in Wayanad. Situated in Sultan Bathery it's a very accessible point. Located on the main road and at a walkable distance from bus stop. It's a place full of serenity and peacefulness. The carvings on stone is really impressive dating back to 12th century. The carvings are from the Vijaynagar area. Do visit to see and explore it's beauty..

Poorly maintained by ASI. The person who was managing at the entrance suddenly came and asked me where I was coming from. I don't think in any ASI managed site they will ask for the place one is coming from as it is none of their business. I don't think this place is worth seeing if one is going to Wayanad. Please try to avoid this place.

Not a must visit. But if interested in ancient history and culture, definitely worth. No any entry charges, no one to control. In the city centre itself. Parking for car is limited, need to park in roadside . Ideal 20 minutes to spend. This temple is maintained by archaeology department of India.
