Never seen a beach front this neat and with so many facilities. The authorities have done a very good job with this place. There are kids play area, cafe, toilets, showering and changing facilities. They have provided a layout which indicates the place safe for swimming. They even test the water regularly to detect the presence of bacterias. There is a nominal entry fee. Really impressed with the place

Formerly known as Kappad Beach. But the renovation has been excellent. Credit to the authorities whoever done that . Now you will have to pay 25 rupees for adults and 10 rupees for children about 10 years. At the first glance it seems to be not fair but now it has lots to see, a lot of maintenance etc.. it has now become a proper tourist place. There is security guard, toilet facilities for men and women. Some seating arrangements and cafeterias been made. Besides everything you can enjoy the road to the sea. You can spend a afternoon there if you go along the family. Now you have to pay parking charge as well. Hope it can attract so many tourist to Kerala.

This is one of the best well maintained beaches over here . It opens from 9am to 6pm. With a nominal fees of 25 per person, amenities like shower , changing room, and toilets are there. If you come between 6am to 9am, there is no entry fee, but then shower and chnaging room they open by 9am only

Good beach.. amble parking. And most importantly there are enough clean toilets, shower & changing room.. so you can take a dip in sea without having to worry about wet clothes 😄

Best beach. Clean and well maitained U have to pay ₹25 per person before entering the beach, where they allow for having shower and changing room after beach bath. Beach have silent waves so you can even enjoy swimming. Nearby there are very few stalls. One shop inside the beach.

One of the best beaches in Kerala, clean well maintained with all the amenities like clean washroom, shower and changing rooms, parking, kids area and refreshments areas. It was amazing to see the continuous efforts by the maintenance team who are really doing a wonderful job in making the beach and park super clean. Parking Car - 30 Rs Entry - 25 for adult

Kappad Beach, located near Kozhikode in Kerala, India, is historically significant as the site where Portuguese explorer Vasco da Gama first set foot in India in 1498. This serene beach offers a tranquil atmosphere with its golden sands, swaying coconut palms, and the gentle lapping of the Arabian Sea against the shore. Visitors can take leisurely walks along the coastline, enjoy breathtaking sunsets, and partake in various water sports such as swimming and boating. The nearby Kappad Backwaters add to the charm of the area, providing opportunities for boat rides amidst lush mangrove forests and serene waters. Kappad Beach is not only a beautiful natural retreat but also a place steeped in history, making it a must-visit destination for travelers to Kerala.

I visited the beautiful beach, trust me it's the most cleanest and well maintained beach ever, almost like a resort, no wonder it is a Blue flag. It's got showers, clean toilets for men, women and the differently abled, a sewage treatment plant, a shop, lifeguards with watch tower, a safe zone for swimming, gazebos and what not. Charges for entry is nominal which I believe has to raised. I went there at around 12 and didn't go to the sea it was hot. It's a wonderful must visit place

The beach maintained with world class standards. With all the facilities like drinking water, sight seeing, restrooms, feeding place, walking area, swimming area, parking and more. Easy accessible from road. Parking fee and entry fee there. There are more trees to rest in sunny time, but this feature not available in most of the beaches.

Kappad beach is a very calm beach and have very much historical importance. It's said that Vasco Da Gama from Portugal landed here in the shore of Kappad. This is a very clam beach. There is hure rock in one side of this beach. We can climb that rock and view from that rock top is just wow. Evenings here are amazing

Whether you are a history buff seeking a connection to the past, a nature enthusiast yearning for tranquility, or simply seeking a respite from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, Kappad Beach promises an unforgettable experience. Its untouched beauty, captivating history, and enchanting sunsets make it a must-visit destination for anyone seeking solace and rejuvenation. Unlike the more crowded beaches of Kerala, Kappad exudes a tranquil charm, allowing visitors to fully immerse themselves in the beauty of nature.

Blue flag beach that is well maintained and could see a bunch of people cleaning and clearing up the trash on a regular basis. However there are clutters of beer and liquor bottles all over the rocks on the beach and this is an eye sore. The water is clean and the shore is truly golden in shade. They have a nice park which collects an entry fee and they have a space for bathing on the beach. Overall we did see a lot of couples enjoying the absence of too many tourists which was trifle uncomfortable.

A nice, calm, serene beach which has got a huge historical importance. In 1498 the Portuguese sailor Vasco Da Gama with his 110 men said to have landed here and this started a trade connection with Portugal. The scenic ocean creates a sense of positive vibe in every mind's and it's a must visit beach especially if one is in Kozhikode side . Now it's been undertaken by "Kerala Tourism" and the place is well maintained and preserved. The waves from the sea rejuvenates one's soul and senses. So I recommend to discover the Magical Kappad Beach.

The thing which amazed me is the buying of tickets to access a beach. I understand this comes under tourism department but there are many who are middle class and for them this comes under unusual expense. We also need to pay for the parking. When thinking about the beach, this is a clean and secure beach. Guards and cleaners are available. Children can be taken care. Toilets are available. Water is available. Ice creams and snacks can be fetched. Also provides a good view. Overall good 5/10

Amazing, well maintained clean beach. There’s an entry fee and enough parking. There were cleaning crew to collect all litters and staff to maintain the landscape. Lots of trees for shade and play area for children. There’s also a cafe in the beach and lots of thattukada in the parking lot. You can take a swim here as the currents are too strong and there are signs all over the beach. There’s also a sandy area with soccer net where you play anything.

After a long time, I found a beach(blue flag beach) which is maintained so neat and tidy. I went there in the morning to have a glimpse of sunrise. But this beach seems to be much better for sunset. Sit on the rock bed, listen to the sound of waves, glance the birds flying all over, watch the fisherman catching the fish... very nice place to visit for a morning jog or a beach volleyball. The water level at the beach is shallow and safe to swim and play.

Despite the traffic challenge and parking hassles, the beach experience was worth the wait. The pristine shoreline, clear waters, and scenic views made the journey worthwhile. Once you escape the traffic, the tranquility and beauty of the beach make it a perfect destination for a relaxing day in nature.

Very clean and beautiful beach. Small food joint is there inside the beach. Ticket is mandatory which is available at the entrance. Bathrooms are not maintained well. Shower area wasn't working which makes it difficult for girls or ladies to wash themselves after beach time.

This is one of the main tourist attractions in the district. The transportation to the place was not that great but good. We have a nice facility to park. Only for some vehicle. There is no plenty of parking lots all the visitors. You can park your vehicles in the lot if it's not a peak time. You can really enjoy the leisure time.

One of the best beach I have seen in Kerala. Very clean and well maintained beach. Though there is an entry fees of 25 ₹ per head, it is worth paying. There are wash rooms, dress changing rooms, and even shower areas to wash yourself after a dip in the sea. There is life guards in the beach, and a safe zone to take a dip in the sea....

The main attraction of this beach is it's cleanliness.water is very clean, so you can swim comfortably. Also beach is very calm and peacefull beach. you can spend your evenings here with your family. beach is well maintained as compared to beaches in the state. Well cleaned public toilets, proper waste management and nice life guards are there in the beach . Since the beach is not in the town there are only a few shops that sell drinks and snacks.

Kappad Beach looks nothing like it did 10 years back. It has been developed well and looks like a good swimming beach now. The historical aspect is always a draw and the new park is good for a sit down. The only thing is I did not see an easy way down to the beach the steps were too big so maybe difficult for the differently abled.

A quality beach Good cleanliness and hygiene. A perfect place to relax as a family Toilet facilities are all good Disabled people are also given consideration Not as crowded as other beaches There is a facility to bathe in the sea and come back to bathe and change clothes, those who come here should take a walk along the beach road, it is also beautiful. Ticket price is Rs.25 for adults.

I went with my family around 11.30 am. There is enough parking ( paid ) . There is an entry ticket, too. The ambiance is very good. The trees make a very good shade , even in noon time. The facilities built here are blending with the atmosphere, especially the small building structures. It's very neet and spacious. There is park activities and gaming facilities for kids. It will be great if you go here during sunset.

Kappad Beach offers a serene escape with its golden sands and gentle waves. The historical significance, being where Vasco da Gama first set foot in India, adds a unique charm. The picturesque surroundings and relatively calm atmosphere make it a perfect spot for a peaceful day by the sea. Kappad beach is an ideal getaway from family vacationers and water sports lovers. There are a number of places in and around the beach that are worth-visiting: Kappd Backwaters - The backwaters at Kappad are a labyrinth of canals, lakes and lagoons with placid waters and immense natural beauty.

The hidden gem of Kozhikode. This is the cleanest beach I have ever seen. Greatest thing is that there won’t be more public here hence it will be amazing to spend time here peacefully. There are more trees which gives you good shade to relax. There’s an entry fee and parking fee but still it’s worth paying for the wonderful maintenance of the beach park.

One of the Beautiful beache I have seen in Kerala which is clean, well maintained, ample car parking and at three areas there is a passage into the sea which is so nice for those who like to experience the sea and enjoy the waves. Not only that the sand is white and clean. A good family spot for a weekend. 👍👍

Kappad Beach in Kozhikode is a true coastal treasure, harmoniously blending nature's beauty with rich historical significance. As you step onto the golden sands, you'll be captivated by the untouched beauty of the Arabian Sea. This beach offers a peaceful retreat from the hustle of daily life. The beach is exceptionally well-maintained, providing an ideal setting for leisurely strolls, sunbathing, or simply taking in the breathtaking horizon. The soothing sound of waves crashing on the shore creates a serene atmosphere. The gradual slope into the sea ensures safe swimming. One remarkable aspect of Kappad Beach is its relative lack of crowds compared to more popular Kerala beaches. This quietude only adds to its allure. Whether you seek a relaxed day by the sea or wish to delve into history, Kappad Beach has it all. Kappad Beach is a hidden gem that effortlessly combines history, natural beauty, and a tranquil atmosphere, making it a must-visit spot in Kozhikode.

Kappad Beach in Kerala is a true heaven for those seeking a peaceful, less crowded beach experience. There are no noisy beachfront shacks or commercialization here. Instead, you'll find a few stalls serving local snacks and coconut water. This beach has untouched beauty, serene ambiance, and historical significance.

A nice beach in Calicut. It’s less crowded than Calicut beach and has ample parking space too. I prefer kappad beach over Calicut beach. The only downside is you will miss the food shops from Calicut beach. The road to kappad is also very good. The place seriously lacks good restaurants for sure. Overall infrastructure feels so good but there are incidents like some people destroys the properties. You can see beer bottles/ broken pieces of glass in some places, so please be slightly careful especially if you’re bringing small kids.

For beach lovers (wanting to swim) this is absolutely NOT the place to go. You will find better options to swim elsewhere. There are rock jetties that change the tides so more waves in between them as well. This is more of a beach park with Rs. 25 entrance fee. The park is very well maintained and extremely clean as well. The worst part is the travel. It's a pain to get there if you don't have your own transport. Local bus, then auto and for return you struggle more to get an auto to the main road. Plan properly before you visit the beach.

  • 5/5 Asish R. 2 years ago on Google
Clean and good maintanence, with amenities for parking, snacks, toilets, benches, seats, gazeebos etc. The shore is also clean, and separate areas are marked for swimming. There are lot of lifeguards as well as lifeguard posts made of strong bamboo poles. Swimming trunks are a must. Would love to visit again. Parking fee: 20 for four wheelers, 40 for tempo travellers and 100 for buses. Entry fee is 25 rupees for adults.
