Oorakam mala is the one of the best tourist attraction area in Malappuram. It is situated in Oorakam village in Malappuram district.

An ancient Shakara NArayan Temple is there. A place of peace and energe.

Oorakam Mala is a mount near Malappuram, Kerala, India. It is in Oorakam village, bordering Nediyiruppu and Kannamangalam villages. Visible from the Malappuram - Parappanangadi state highway between Vengara and Panakkad and is around 6 km to the peak of the mount from the highway. There is a Jain temple at the top of the mountain, which is around 2000 years old.

This is really a gem of a place in Malappuram district. I came to know about this place in 2021 only. This place is also known as THIRUVONAMALA. There is a small temple on top of it. It is active only on thirvonam day. There is a small path starting from the left side in the way of a resort located here. The climb and downhill have to be little extra careful during rainy days. The climb is a steep one. After climbing the final stairs, the temple can be seen and there is a way at left which leads to the view point. The view is amazing and do take water and snacks (optional). This is just a local attraction, so there is no facility for waste and all. So please do not litter here. Be a responsible tourist. 👍🏻

Best place to do 4x4 jeep trucking and you can make tend at top of oorkamala.. There is a temple at the top . Better time for visiting is early morning or Evening.. For doing jeep trucking road via kilinakode and for trucking via mini ooty..
