I
went
in
the
beginning
of
April
2022.
I
wanted
to
learn
Kalari
for
3
months.
My
work
is
fully
remote,
so
I
could
afford
this
much
time,
as
long
as
I
got
good
internet
connectivity.
Apart
from
internet,
I
also
wanted
to
make
sure
that
the
Kalari
training
doesn't
affect
my
work
and
vice
versa.
In
a
couple
of
days,
I
found
out
that
internet
is
not
going
to
be
an
issue.
Meet
calls,
zoom
calls,
screen
sharing,
video
call,
everything
works
well.
For
few
days,
I
had
to
take
a
nap
in
the
noon
because
of
the
hard
training,
but
after
around
a
week,
my
body
adjusted
and
I
was
able
to
manage
both
work
and
training.
I
finished
my
3
months
of
training.
I
liked
the
training
and
the
stay
so
much
that
I
decided
to
extend
it
even
further.
But
daily
4
hours
of
training(2
hours
morning,
2
hours
evening)
along
with
my
work
was
not
leaving
any
time
for
anything
else.
So
I
decided
to
extend
my
training
for
1
month,
but
discussed
with
Thomas
Aashan,
to
tweak
my
schedule,
and
skipped
the
morning
sessions,
and
started
to
attend
only
the
evening
sessions
i.e.
just
2
hours
a
day,
and
I
also
started
to
take
break
on
Sundays.
I
finished
this
1
month
of
training
too.
But,
I
was
still
not
done
:P
So,
I
just
kept
on
extending
my
training
month
by
month
and
finally
bid
adieu
to
place
in
the
end
of
January
2023.
That's
a
total
of
10
months.
Do
note
that
I
did
not
train
for
the
full
10
months,
because
I
used
to
take
breaks
and
visit
my
hometown
or
meet
my
office
folks
etc.
Sometimes,
I
took
a
break
of
a
month,
sometimes
few
weeks
etc.
etc.
In
total,
I
trained
for
7
months,
rest
3
months
were
break.
If
I
try
to
come
up
with
reasons
on
how
I
was
able
to
extend
my
training
for
so
long,
here
are
the
points
I
could
think
of:
1.
High
speed
wifi
with
power
backup
took
care
of
my
work
requirements.
2.
On
my
request,
they
also
arranged
a
big
table
in
the
beautiful
balcony(surrounded
with
tall
trees
all
around)
where
I
was
able
to
setup
my
workspace.
3.
I
prefer
eating
home
cooked
food
most
of
the
times,
and
that
is
what
I
was
getting
there.
You
eat
what
the
Aashan's
family
eat
and
you
eat
with
them.
I
like
all
the
cuisines
so
eating
Keralan
style
food
wasn't
a
challenge
for
me.
Whether
you
are
veg,
eggetarian,
non-veg,
vegan,
just
let
them
know
of
your
needs
and
they
customise
the
food
accordingly.
Plus,
on
Sunday
noons
you
get
biryani
:P
4.
I
could
use
washing
machine
and
iron.
City
has
laundry
services
too.
5.
Of
course,
the
Kalari
training.
This
is
so
addictive.
It's
almost
like
a
therapy.
Some
days
where
full
day
would
just
go
so
so,
just
one
session
in
the
evening,
and
I
would
feel
fully
recharged.
Kalari
training
also
strengthened
my
belief
that
all
the
limitations
that
I
have
put
are
in
my
head
and
I
can
do
anything
once
I
start
dribbling
with
it.
6.
Community:
When
I
switched
from
training
2
times
a
day
to
training
1
time
a
day,
I
chose
the
evening
classes,
because
in
evening
local
students
come.
Just
like
in
cities,
we
go
to
gym
daily,
they
come
to
Kalari
daily.
Even
though
there
was
a
language
barrier,
I
liked
to
train
with
the
local
students
because
it
gave
me
a
sense
of
community.
It
kept
me
accounted
and
helped
me
nurture
new
relationships
with
local
folks.
7.
Infra:
I
wanted
a
place
which
is
fully
managed.
I
couldn't
afford
time
to
cook,
clean
etc.
because
of
my
work.
Here,
food,
stay,
internet
all
was
taken
care
of.
I
just
needed
my
clothes
to
move
in
so
that
was
a
a
relief.
8.
Family:
I
did
not
find
this
place
to
be
very
"business-y".
I
lived
here
as
a
family
member.
I
reached
character
limit
here,
so
can't
write
any
more
-
there
are
many
more
things
left
to
write
like
frequent
traditional
events,
day
excursions,
beautiful
close
to
nature
stay,
grand
feasts
prep,
festivals,
Kalari
massage,
new
relationships,
games
like
Uno,
Cricket,
Football
with
Aashan's
kids/family/friends,
oil
making,
plucking
fruits,
horse-riding,
hammock,
field
walks,
river
walk,
beautiful
walks,
movie-outs
etc.
etc.
(just
read
reviews
from
other
people
to
get
the
hang
of
it)
At
last,
I
would
say,
if
possible,
give
this
sincere
one
month
and
see
what
it
does
to
you.
