The entry was closed because of the pandemic situation. But you can see the dam view from the another side. Morning view was good, which makes your mind so peaceful.

Karapuzha Dam is one of the biggest earth dams in India. Karapuzha Dam is located in the greenish and natural regions of Wayanad, Kerala on the Karapuzha River, a tributary of the Kabini River.

Situated in the thriving Wayanad District of Kerala and present on both sides of the Karapuzha River, Karapuzha Dam is one of the largest earth dams in India. The gushing water, swamped hills, scenic environment, and leafy islands make it a perfect spot for aquatic birds and a charming place for the tourists. Here, the water is 158 feet deep and the dam can be visited during the day preferably because the visibility gets low at dawn. This man-made marvel with its lush green surroundings and birds around is a great place to go to in order to unwind and relax amidst the natural surroundings. The construction of the Karapuzha Dam began in 1977 and got over by 2004 for irrigation purposes. However, the tourism department developed the area around the dam by constructing an aquarium here and starting boating as well as canoeing facilities at the spot. One can take nature walks in the countryside and click pictures of the beautiful and unique birds which fly around here. During the monsoon season, the water in Karapuzha Dam reaches to the brim making the scene quite amazing. The dam remains open throughout the year and is definitely worth a visit.

It is scenic from distance. From upclose the water bed is available in patches, not much to do in the surrounding
