Parassinikadavu Snake Park and Zoo houses a wide variety of snakes, birds and animals. It is beautifully built and given the large area that it spans, has amenities like snack-centres, ice-cream parlour, etc inside. Also, the information about all the snakes, birds and animals are given accurately. (Efforts are made to provide names in Hindi, Kannada, Tamil, etc along with English and Malayalam) There are also extra boards distinguishing commonly mistaken facts and such. Another interesting thing I observed here is that this place encourages artists by exhibiting and putting up a sale of their artworks. A place worth visiting with family. All in all, this place is good for a family picnic and also be considered as an option worth including in an educational excursion. I ❤️ SNAKE PARK. P. S.: It is modern, too.

While the park is called a Snake Park, it also showcases collection of fish, crocodile, lizards and few other animals. The park is really well maintained. Please note that this is not a fully fledged zoo. One can spend a nice 30 to 60 mins here.

The snake park is a beautiful place to be. Good number of snakes and other animals can be seen there. It’s a small park but this could be one place to visit if you are in Kannur.

King Cobra, nest of lots and lots of Indian cobras, vipers, kraits, beautiful fishes in aquariums, some monitor lizards, curious birds, primates are some of the main attractions of this park. Good one time pass. 2 stars down for the low quality conditions these innocent creatures are suffering in. The water abode their home looks stale and many years old. Conditions are just filthy.

You can experience different species of snakes. There is a wide range of snake species, and some other animals are also there. It's a wonderful place for kids. They can experience a lot. And watch animals so closely. But one thing I noticed, especially in noon times, there is a glare on every glass. It will blur your vision in the snake area.. And there is a 12D cinema theater we cN experience a little bit of 12D. It was fun.

Snake park and mini zoo. You can see different species of snakes including king cobra. They got good number of snakes in most of the species so you won't have to search for the snake In their cages. They also got many Crocodiles You would see only small sized animals here. Birds are also less. Kids park is nice. Coolbar and snackbar is in the compound. You can spend 1 to 2 hours here.

After 2 years I visited this temple few days back and could see a lot of changes. It has been facilitated with a walk way and there is a jetty for pleasure boats. Family can enjoy a very good positive vibe here. You can have a very good view of the entire temple from the walk way which was not possible in earlier days. The premises is clean and you will have a devotional vibe. The river in front of the temple itself will give you a good feel. Then there is lot of stalls for you and your kid.

Best time to spend your time on the way to parassinikadavu temple. It don't have that much unique reptiles collection right now as compared to before. Still it's worth the ticket. It has clean and nice environment with lots of trees, flowers and greenery.. And all the birds and animals are kept well in good and well suited habitat. There is small hangout areas with in park for kids and food and drinks stall. visiters can have a nice experience over there

One of the most curious Kannur tourist places is the snake park in Parassinikkadavu. The park houses over 150 species of reptiles ranging from crocodiles to lizards and snakes, along with endemic and migratory species of rare water birds. Wildlife enthusiasts and animal lovers will find it extremely satisfying to enjoy the array of animals and their admirable traits. You will be left awestruck watching the delightful traits of these animals. Distance: 18.8 km from Kannur bus stand. Timings: 9.30 AM to 5.30 PM Entry fee: The entry fees for each visitor depends on their age. 0 - 5 years: Free 6 - 17 years: INR 20 18 - 79 years: INR 30 Above 80: Free. Note: Not very well maintained, whosoever runs this park kind of forgot that these are life forms and do have feelings . You can make these living beings life better here just by doing a simple thing , change the perspective and view the living creatures here from a different angle, consider them as fellow creatures that share the same soil and breath from same air. Saw a few things like , not sufficient water in crocodile pit , less hygienic emu water kettles. Not gonna list with examples, that would be cliche and futherover this is gonna fell in to deaf ears and blindfolded eyes 😉🙏

Snake Park is definitely trying to improve their setup or park, still a lot of improvements are needed to taken care of. There wasn't any water in the crocodile cage, and similarly a lot of changes can be made inorder to make the place much better. The workers should try cleaning the place before visitors are allowed as it feels really disrespectful to sweep while we are taking a walk or tour. Apart from that, definitely it's a place to visit once or twice.

Our visit to the Snake Park and Zoo was an absolute delight! 🐍🦎 The park not only offers a thrilling snake experience but also has amazing rides for children. 🎡🎠 The kids had a blast, and we adults had a fantastic time too. The cafe serves nice snacks and coffee ☕, perfect for recharging after exploring. Plus, the shops are a great place to pick up some souvenirs and you can buy some organic items too 🛍️🐍. The staff was knowledgeable and friendly, making the visit both educational and fun. We highly recommend this unique attraction for families looking for adventure and a great time! 🐍👨‍👩‍👧‍👦🎉

The snake park as such is a wonderful place for kids. They would just love it seeing all the different animals and snakes. For adults, it could bore you as it is just a basic park with less number of animals. Nevertheless, you can spend about 30-40min in the snake park and have good photoshoots.

Fabulously maintained, spacious park at the heart. Children and elderly friendly. With a wide variety and species of snakes, the park attracts visitors all around the year. Both poisonous and non-poisonous snakes are housed in this park which is under the administration of the Forest Department. But snakes like anaconda could have been included for a bit more appeal. Charges Adults 50 Rs Children's 30 Rs

It is a great place to visit with family. Like a mini zoo. There is an opportunity to learn about different types of snakes. There is also a nice aquarium. There is still a lot to improve. The premises are not very clean. Rest stations should be added. Daily maintenance seemed to be lacking.

Its a good place , very eco friendly, average hygiene, less collection zoo, some fishes, small animals , average collection of snakes , children play area is very poor , for 1 hr relax its ok. Snacks and coolbars are available inside, parking ground is not available, we have to park at road side , its not a rush place so parking is not a problem, but not sure on weekends

I visited the snake park in Kerala last week and I had a blast. The park is well-maintained and has a variety of snakes from different regions. I learned a lot about their habitats, diets, and behaviors from the informative guides. The highlight of the visit was the snake show, where the handlers demonstrated how to handle venomous snakes safely and humanely. They also explained the importance of snake conservation and how to avoid snake bites. I was impressed by their skills and courage. The snake park is a must-see for anyone who loves nature and wildlife. It is a fun and educational experience for all ages.

Further, you can.get to see a jungle cat, crocodiles and alligators (atleast 20.lf them). There is a life statue of Steve Irwin. Then come the snakes, Boas, cobra, vipers and what not.. There is a small refreshments spot and a photo spot inside as well.So you won't.miss your ice cream. Just outside the premises, you can have your pickled pineapple, gooseberries and mangoes. Overall, one hour well spent for your family.

Actually this one is a mini zoo. There are lot of animals like peacock,porcup8ne,crocodile, eagle, monkey ,owl, jungle cat and variety of fishes. Staffs are really friendly. Location is also good. within an hour gou can enjoy the zoo. Due to covid reasons currently there is learning activity. It would have been better if they offered any feeding activities for the kids. Parks for the kids is not so well maintained mah be bcoz of current covid conditions. There is shops inside where we can have some snacks and merchandise. Kids will have fun time. 😉

Snake Park is a landmark in the district of Snake Park at Parassinikkadavu, en route from Kannur to Taliparamba, 2 kilometres (1.2 mi) from National Highway (NH) 17. Here there are a large genre of snakes and other small animals as well as a live show, where trained personnel play and 'interact' with a variety of snakes, including cobras and vipers, and seek to quell mythical fears and superstitions about snakes. The Snake Park was set up by the Visha Chikista Kendra at Pappinisseri and has become a centre of attraction to both foreign and domestic tourists. This Kendra (center) offers effective treatment for snake bites with almost 100% cure. This is the only place, perhaps where Ayurveda and Allopathy are effectively combined for curing snake bites. The snake park houses about 150 varieties of snakes including the Spectacled Cobra, King Cobra, Russell's viper, Krait and various pit vipers. There is also a large collection of non-poisonous snakes including Pythons. A research laboratory to extract venom from snakes is proposed for the location. The park is dedicated to the preservation and conservation of snakes, many species of which are facing gradual extinction. The laboratory is located 16 kilometres (9.9 mi) from Kannur. Parassinikkadavu is noted for the Muthappan temple. This is the only temple in Kerala where a Theyyam performance is a daily ritual offering.

It will hardly take you 1.5 hours to go around this mini zoo but considering the other zoos in Kerala , here the animals are much more active and the enclosures they are in actually give you a really nice viewing experience and you can see the animals in their natural habitat to a great extent.

Lack of food for all animals inside the zoo.,🙊🙉🐵

The Parassinkkadavu Snake Park is located about 16 kilometres from Kannur. The park houses a variety of snakes and other small animals, including the Spectacled Cobra, King Cobra, Russell's viper, Krait and various pit vipers.

  • 5/5 Mystery L. 2 years ago on Google
Peaceful atmosphere with few snakes and other reptiles, birds, and animals

  • 4/5 Nimisha N. 2 years ago on Google
Could have maintained well. Nothing so great about it. A small dry place with a lot of lazy people I should say... And Thank God, One guy stood apart from that by explaining us about King Cobras and he helped us to spot them at its enclosure.

Regarded as one of the finest snake sanctuaries of Asia, the Parassinikadavu Snake Park is the pride of the south. It is one of the most prominent reptile preservation centres in the country and is the only one in Kerala. The Parassinikadavu Snake Park is home to over 150 different species of reptiles like crocodiles, monitor lizards and snakes- both venomous and non-venomous. Not only reptiles and amphibians, but this snake park also goes a long way to preserve and protect many wild mammals, marine creatures as well as rare avifauna- both endemic and migratory.

Not much to brag about but would be a wonderful experience for kids to observe a select few species of animals and birds. They seem to have undertaken a face lift and the process is apparently not yet complete. Worth the time and a good opportunity for anyone visiting the neighbouring Parassini Muthappan Temple.

Lovely atmosphere, it's truly paradise for children's as knowledge bank. Besides snakes here you can also get to see varieties of Aquatics's fishes, crocodiles, even some rare spice of animals too.

A very rare zoo with a collection of fish, birds animals and reptiles. Information on snaks are really educational.Perhaps Kannur' lack of zoo is compansatable with this center.

18.8 km from Kannur bus stand. Timings: 9.30 AM to 5.30 PM

Parassinikkadavu snake park is must watch place with family in Kannur. You can see different variety of snakes like python, viper, kobra, king kobra etc , fishes, birds, crocodiles, monkeys etc from this place. Number of snakes are less compared to last visit(is around 8-10 years back). Overall you can spend 1-3 hours in this park.

Recommended for a small picnic or time spent. The park is not well maintained. Variety of snakes are displayed. The aquarium is good. Children have little entertainment.

  • 4/5 Ardra 11 months ago on Google
I remember snake park as a well full of snakes. Now there is no well...no info classes..not many snakes as in those days. It will be entertaining for kids who haven't seen many reptiles. There is an entry fee.

  • 3/5 Sidharth M. 10 months ago on Google
The park is well-maintained and has a wide variety of snakes, as well as some other animals like crocodiles and birds. The only downside was the price of the ticket. At Rs. 50 per person, it is a bit expensive for locals. However, I would still recommend the park to visitors from outside Kannur or Kerala. It is a great place to learn about snakes and other reptiles, and it is sure to be a fun experience for children.

It is a zoo cum snake park. It has been well maintained. From August onwards it might be crowded as it is going to be the shooting location of Kunchako Boban' movie Grrr.....it has a play area for kids with slides and swings. There is 12 D cinema.

  • 4/5 Ajitha K. 10 months ago on Google
It's near to parassinikadavu muthappan temple. For children upto 12 years the entry fees is 30 and for children above 13 years & adults below 80 years it's Rs 50 and for super seniors citizens it's free. There are different variety of snakes there. Among these snakes we can see the sea world and other different varieties of reptiles. Inside the snake park, they have arranged few beverage & snacks shops. Moreover, there is a 12 D cinema we can watch.
