Mesmerizing architecture. Simply a must-see landmark of the city. Don't leave Moscow without admiring its iconic façade. Near the Kremlin.

Unforgettable experience. Must see in Moscow. The Bolshoi building, which for many years now has been regarded as one of Moscow’s main sights, was opened on 20 October 1856, on Tsar Alexander II’s coronation day. The Bolshoi Theatre is a symbol of Russia for all time. It was awarded this honor due to the major contribution it made to the history of the Russian performing arts. This history is on-going and today Bolshoi Theatre artists continue to contribute to it many bright pages

Lately I could not review Red Square, because Google maps wrote that Red Square 🟥 is not reviewable. I absolutely agree with that statement. To make my own statement I can say Bolshoi Theatre is not reviewable either. It is a part of history of Russia, Soviet Union and Russia again. There are certain places that can’t be reviewed. You just can express your emotions with exclamation signs 🪧 Absolutely breathtaking! Full of history! Full of culture! The Bolshoi Theatre (Russian: Большо́й теа́тр, tr. Bol'shoy teatr, Great Theatre, is a historic theatre in Moscow, Russia, originally designed by architect Joseph Bové, which holds ballet and opera performances. Before the October Revolution it was a part of the Imperial Theatres of the Russian Empire along with Maly Theatre (Small Theatre) in Moscow and a few theatres in Saint Petersburg (Hermitage Theatre, Bolshoi (Kamenny) Theatre, later Mariinsky Theatre and others).

It’s the biggest theatre in moscow. It almost looks like a museum. The place can be easily located. The inside is ginormous. The building from outside looks huge.

This is the second place you must visit (after the red square) if you are in Moscow. This is a historical place of great importance for Russian culture. I recomend to watch the Russian ballet (you will understand the reason of it's fame). It is appropriate to wear formal clothes. It is not a requirement but for Russians it's customary to dess up for this occasion.

A beautiful performing arts hall! If you are into photography this place has several keen photo optical opportunities. If you are thinking of reserving tickets for a show, pick your seats wisely. Too close to the edges of the stage and you'll have a hard time seeing the performance fully. Picking the top-most balcony will also leave you standing the whole time because the height of the ledges. If a performance is long enough to warrant refreshments, go to the 7th floor instead of the one on the 2nd floor as its larger and has more options. Make sure you dress your absolute best. This is a place to see and be seen.

Lovely Place in the heart of Moscow. Hip crowd of people, enjoying life - at least in summer. Not big, but such a magnet for people with dogs, lovers in their own love bubble, future Instagram stars posing and many more.

The Bolshoi Ballet and Bolshoi Opera are amongst the oldest and most renowned ballet and opera companies in the world. It is by far the world's biggest ballet company, with more than 200 dancers.[2] The theatre is the parent company of The Bolshoi Ballet Academy, a world-famous leading school of ballet. It has a branch at the Bolshoi Theater School in Joinville, Brazil.[3] The main building of the theatre, rebuilt and renovated several times during its history, is a landmark of Moscow and Russia (its iconic neoclassical façade is depicted on the Russian 100-ruble banknote). On 28 October 2011, the Bolshoi re-opened after an extensive six-year renovation.[4] The official cost of the renovation is 21 billion rubles ($688 million). However, other Russian authorities and other people connected to it claimed much more public money was spent.[5][6] The renovation included restoring acoustics to the original quality (which had been lost during the Soviet Era), as well as restoring the original Imperial decor of the Bolshoi.[4]

New premier version of the opera "The Fairytale about The Tsar Saltan" (Skazka o Tsare Saltane), based on the poem of Alexander Pushkin. Excellent performance (mix of opera and a bit of circus), beautiful voices, magnificent costumes. The decorations could be better. Anyway -- you will enjoy! PS this opera is in the New Building (stage) of the Bolshoi Theatre (not in the historical building!!)

Absolute must visit when in Moscow! The theater was gorgeous, the people and the atmosphere felt like ball from a fairytale. The workers could speak both Russian and English. Also don’t forget to visit the bar during the break and try their champagne and mini-cakes, that’s the best experience ever.

Bolshoi theatre is the most famous Russian theatre. Not the best of course, but the most prominent. Flamboyant interior decorations in red and gold colours, grandiose chandelier at the historical scene, some rooms looking like a museum expositions: everything is screaming "Luxury!" The tickets are usually around 7000 rubs up to 15000 (Historical stage), but I got one for a special price of 2000 rubs. It was at the highest - 4th level - but in a 1st raw and in the center, so the stage was visible perfectly. My level was in the 7th floor (there's an elevator) so I took a strong binocular, the usual "theatre" one won't help you much at this distance. Very convenient system of having it's own dressing room and buffet for each 2 levels avoids the crowd between and after the shows. The minus: Bolshoi theatre does NOT accept credit cards inside!! You have to pay cash for drinks/food and printed programs! This is very inconvenient! Especially considering the fact that a glass of champagne costs around a price of full bottle - 500 rubs. When buying a ticket online you have to insert you passport data and one person can't buy more than 2 tickets. Then you have to personally come and retrieve the ticket from ticket office, that located not in a Bolshoi theatre itself, but across the road, at RAMT. You have to show a passport and A CREDIT CARD that you used while buying the ticket! That is silly considering the fact that they do not accept credit cards in the theatre... Also the cashier lady and guards were speaking rather rude and spoiled the first impression from the most famous Russian theatre. I watched the opera Queen of Spades and it was average, lead singers were nondescript, decorations were simple as well as costumes. I was more impressed by the theatre itself then by the performance. I think you should visit this place to feel the atmosphere and see the magnificence of the building in the 1st place, and only then for the spectacular itself.

Watching a performance at the Bolshoi was something of a lifelong dream. The performance did not disappoint. Beautiful sets and costumes, amazing dancers, a world class orchestra. The theater itself is the height of beauty. But, the performance was completely ruined by the incredibly rude people that talked throughout the performance, the woman in front of me who spent the whole performance texting someone, and the 20 or so people who were constantly taking pictures and videos on their phones, many of them using bright flashes. And to top it off, none of the Bolshoi staff seemed to care. Try using your phone at the Kennedy Center in Washington DC and you will be thrown out. Apparently the Bolshoi dors not care about rude people distracting others during a performance. I paid close to $400 to look at people's phones for 2 hours. People who cannot get through a beautiful ballet without touching their phones are weak of mind and rude.

(Translated by Google) Bolshoi Theater, new stage. Performance "Orchestra Guide" and "Animal Carnival" I am absolutely delighted. I was in this building for the first time, I liked it. The performances are excellently staged. I watched the same thing in "Stasik" before, so there is a huge difference. The Bolshoi is more interesting. Although the first part is more interesting for children already familiar with music and not everyone succeeds in observing the development of Britten's musical thoughts But the second part is excellent in all respects. Modern technologies are actively involved. Drawings and live video are projected onto the screen - the conductor, actors and even spectators of the performance. They can paint, turning into an elephant or a bird, and draw them into musical fabric. And this does not harm the music, on the contrary, it helps children understand music better. Great idea and implementation. In the role of the girl, a girl-actress who became a star on the TV series about Gogol was announced, but today we had another wonderful girl.

Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow Visited on 6/10/2019 Never in my dream I dreamt of coming face to face with this magnificent building in the heart of Moscow. On the roof of the Bolshoi theatre is Quadriga of Apollo, the four horses led by Apollo. I heard about this iconic theatre when I was a small kid. When I look through my camera screen, it conjures up my childhood memories of those ballet dancers in tight consume, and opera singers who sang their hearts out in a language that I could not understand. My knowledge on ballet and opera is very limited, but I do know about the "The Swan Lake", "The Sleeping Beauty" and the "Nutcracker" . Bolshoi Theatre was damaged extensively by fires, and bombing on different occasions, and has been rebuilt and renovated many times. It is a pity that our tour does not include visiting the interior of the theatre nor attending a performance.

Was here for a English building tour. The place itself was amazing and the explanations by the tour guide made it even more educational. Learned some things that I would probably never have known if I just booked a ticket for one of the shows. Luckily, we also got to see some of the rehearsal that was going on.

The architecture is very beautiful, I was a presentation and it is impressive. The purchase of tickets can be made over the internet and to be presented at the historic building requires approximately 3 months' notice or will be very expensive. I stayed at the 6 balcony and the view of the stage was not very good. It is very beautiful on the outside. It is worth strolling in the park at the Teatro Bolshoi and then watching the concerts inside! Arrive 30 hours early to really see the building's architecture from the outside! Worth it !!! Quite an experience, the grandeur and grandeur of the building itself is worth the trip! I recommend keeping an eye on the performance times, sometimes you find something cheap to get to know the theater from the inside

You’re not allowed to take a picture or videos during the performance.

(Translated by Google) Hooray! I visited this temple of art. There are several entrances to the theater, it all depends on your seat on the ticket. I entered through 6 (side entrance), the elevator took me to the 5th floor. Each floor has its own wardrobe, which helps to avoid long lines. The bathrooms on each floor are large and spacious. The buffet is large, the prices are theatrical, but note that payment is in cash only. A very beautiful hall on the 2nd floor of the theater, an exhibition dedicated to Prokofiev's anniversary is now open. Visited the opera Manon Lescaut. Audibility even on tier 2 is excellent, visibility is not very good, but this is a side effect of the "cheap" ticket. A great place to get positive emotions and spiritual development.

(Translated by Google) The historical scene has survived exactly as I remember it as a child. I was especially impressed that they kept the huge chandelier. The sound and scenery were great. I realized that on the balcony of the 1st tier it is more comfortable to sit in armchairs than in the parterre on chairs. And besides, it is more convenient to read the credits if the production is not in Russian :) (Original)

(Translated by Google) The store itself is pleasant but a little expensive. Moreover, the quality of an expensive backpack is so-so - lightning in a month, the lining lasted 2.5. Although the backpack is guaranteed for a year. It's a pity for the nerves and time, I didn't go to change. But it's a shame ...

(Translated by Google) Beautiful theater, wonderful ballet. Quite high prices in the buffet, but when you realize that art requires sacrifice, everything becomes normal. I recommend visiting the historical scene at least once. Rossini’s “Il viaggio a Reims” was a big surprise for me. I really did not expect it to be as wonderful as it was. The cast with their brilliant voices and costumes were simply amazing. I really DO RECOMMEND everyone going to Moscow to add Bolshoi to their “bucket list”, pack an evening dress and visit this pearl of Moscow theatre scene.
