I am italian. I have recently been looking for nice cafés here in Tokyo and as far as quality goes, this was by far the best espresso I have had so far, and I have had plenty. I also loved the serving cups :)

No exaggeration, Turret is THE BEST! Every time I come to Tokyo, I try to find a reason to visit. While the Turret latte is a good choice for coffee purists, in my opinion, it's all about the salted caramel latte. The flavor hits with the perfect combination of salty sweet with the satisfying punch of high quality espresso. It's an A+ experience every time. Thank you Turret; you're my favorite coffee in the world.

(Translated by Google) A popular cafe with a bitter adult cafe latte, located in a small alley opposite the front of Tsukiji Hongwanji Temple. Like Tsukiji, there is a turret inside the store, which also has a seat ^ _ ^ Anyway, as a person who likes bitter, deep and dark latte, this is one of my favorite latte shops in Tokyo. Moreover, the amount is quite "plenty!", And you can enjoy gutsuri and cafe latte with just a small bowl of beef bowl (laughs). Also, latte art is always beautiful and beautiful, and it looks great.

We visited Turret Coffee every morning while in Tokyo, and it was an amazing experience. The gentleman running the shop was incredibly friendly and kind to everyone who walked in. He genuinely seemed excited to make coffee for us. The quality of the coffee itself was fantastic, and they also offer seasonal lattes that are worth trying. Instead of going to Starbucks, I highly recommend supporting local businesses like Turret Coffee.

Nice little shop, went in for a quick cup of coffee as I was meeting a friend. Super friendly stay and they had milk alternatives. Medium roast, the coffee was very tasty, the inside of the store was quite small but would be nice for a group of friends to go and have a chat or a single person to catch up on some work emails over a nice coffee. Easy to find, not too expensive, fast, friendly and overall good coffee. Enjoy ☕️

(Translated by Google) I visited just before the store closed, We welcomed you warmly and made you feel at home. I had a turret latte. It was the most bitter latte I've ever had. Ordered an ice mocha here. Drink tasted ok but nothing great that I would go back for. Its one drink per person if you want to sit and hang out. Barista wasn’t mean, but he wasn’t friendly either when you compare service at other places. Experience and coffee overall was just ok.

Definitely happy to find places that can serve coffee that is actually emphasizing the coffee more than the milk. The vibe of the place is very chill as well; not a place if you are rushed. However, the day I visited I think the flavor of the coffee was overly bitter (not always synonymous with strong). I'd like to give another chance, but the balance wasn't there this time.

I walk here from Shinbashi for coffee - in august wearing a suit. that's how good it is. They make proper espresso which is rare. It may be the best in Tokyo. Easily top 10. Very Nice folks, now accepting credit cards!

Strong and tasty! I compare all other coffee shops against the coffee I’ve had here. Soooo good. Whenever I do return to Japan this might be the first place I revisit. In Canada I can not find any place that makes coffee as good as Turret Coffee Tsukiji.

I know i have to visit this coffee shop. Very impressive. I ordered hot berry mocha latte which is seasonal. Damn it’s soooooo fineee🥹💛💛💛. Smooth blend of berry and chocolate and coffee. I had it at the shop and got some time to look around. The owner did pop-up shop twice in the US too. A lot of queue throughout the day…both japaneses and foreigners. Walking distance from Tsukiji fish market and Ginza. Going back for sure. Very impressive😋

Want to see a true coffee craftsman in action? Then head on over to Turret Coffee. The coffee is rich and dark and lovingly crafted with a unique design for every cup. Stay in for the best experience and watch as the new customers drool over your good fortune. Word must have gotten out about this little gem of a coffee shop because lines are starting to form and you may have to wait to get your coffee fix. But if you’ve got time, it’s worthwhile.

Placed right next to Starbucks, it is a great alternative to the monster chain. Would highly recommend it over Starbucks. With that being said, comparing their macchiato espresso drinks to other gourmet / craft / local coffee shops, it is not the best I’ve had. It was a bit gritty on the mouth feel and more bitter than I’d expect. I love the ambience inside. Reminds me of minimalist industrial coffee shops in the Bay Area or Portland. Part of me wants to give a 4 star but given the location and overall experience of the place, I will give a 5 with confidence.

Little cozy coffee shop with wonderful coffee! Not many coffee shop opens early around Tokyo area but this one is definitely a hidden gem and opens at 7am! Ordered a flat white and it’s probably one of the best I have had in Tokyo area. Some bread/cake is also available at the shop. Shop isn’t that big with around 10 seats available. Both owner/staff is super helpful and cheerful with fluent English!

Truly the best coffee I've had in Tokyo. Authentic feel, owned by a true coffee connoisseur. A little bit tricky to find, off of the main road and right around the corner from a Starbucks (30m or so) in one of the back alleys. Ignore the Starbucks.

Turret has been on my short list for a long time, so we were very glad to finally be back in the neighborhood so we could check it out. The espresso drinks are absolutely amazing, and the latte art has amazingly good contrast. We enjoyed our beverages fully and will definitely have to make more regular trips to this location. I had the vanilla soy latte and my husband had the salted caramel latte—they were both very good! We also bought one of the reusable tumblers, which was a great color (mustard yellow). Highly recommend!

Highly recommend this joint as it’s one of the best coffees in tokyo and in my humble experience the best. Try their ice jelly latte or the almond milk latte for summer

Best coffee I had in Japan. There was a sign upfront that said most outrageous coffee shop in Japan. Inside it eas very quirky. Coffee grindera, stickers, calendars, lots of hand written notes which made this both unique and industrial. The dorayaki was actually good too. We ordered the house specials and were not dissapointed. One man show but what a performance.

Turret Cafe is right outside of Tsukiji station. It is a hole in the wall place with ~10 seats spread across inside and out. So dont be surprised you have to take your coffee to go. We were pretty lucky in that when we got there, a couple that was sitting outside was just leaving. So we got to sit outside, sip our amazing lattes, while watching the rain and people. The coffee was superb. I would recommend their seasonal latte. This season it was banana flavored. I would visit again when we are in the area.

The take-out cup also has a logo like the illustration of Turret and is fashionable. The coffee of the turret latte is very deep roasted and strong, and when I drank it from the morning, it was good that the strong coffee worked very well. After a busy long morning around the Tsukiji markets, I searched for a good nearby cafe for a caffeine hit and fortuitously found the very charming Turret Coffee. A one man operation, I patiently waited behind a few others for the lovely proprietor to make coffees for everyone. I ordered the Turret Coffee to have in, and luckily, I got a seat at one of the inside stools. Strong, a bit bitter, very satisfying cup of coffee. You could taste the beautiful beans and the care it was made with. I love a strong coffee, so this was up my alley. Sitting in the adorable Turret cafe for a moment allowed me to stop, revive, and appreciate the small things. ☕️ ❤️

Best match latte I’ve had in Japan so far. I like that the syrup sits at the bottom of the cup, so that you can mix in as much sweetness as you want. Also, you can get a large size which most places only have small to medium sizes. I would make this my go to Matcha latte place.

It’s a beautiful and tasty latte. If you look for authentic espresso based beverage, I recommend this cafe with strong confidence. There are many notices, mainly about “ Don’t “ s. If you like enjoying the moment or relaxing , I will recommend other cafes. If you peek the ambient of Japanese Shokunin(Artist chef ), there you go. Tasty ? YES! Cozy ? Not much.

*Very* good coffee. One man, one espresso machine, one helluva good bean. Right around the corner from a Starbucks too! 🤣 Go here, not there. We had their seasonal spiced offerings with oat milk (strawberry and a "holiday/winter" spice).

Just slightly off a main street sits a laid back coffee bar that serves espresso with a punch. A few seats, a couple signature coffee options, dorayaki and more. This self proclaimed "most outrageous coffee shop in Japan" can be your pregame or after for your epic Tsukigi excursion. And if you ask me, you should start with a dose of magic. Turning in from the noisy street, you immediately see a gigantic monstera in front of the shop. The shop may not seem large, but it's packed with characters. It has an off beat industrial aesthetic. The espresso is served with a ring of dark color crema. The crema is incredibly thick. it is, for sure, a more developed profile, but it's not your regular old school italiano. The first sip is intense with a lot of caramel, dark chocolate characters, but then it progresses to a much more balanced and sweet finish that lingers. The seasonal spiced mocha latte has the most perfect ratio of warming spices, chocolate, espresso and milk. Not overly sweet and has absolutely no hint of bitterness. Can't stop at their Tokyo store? Apparently they have other stores based in New York and Los Angeles.

As a serious global coffee drinker, this cafe has to produce the best coffee in Tokyo. The espressos are like treacle and burst with intensity with the flavour from every sip lasting an eternity. The lattes are a work of art. Make sure to order a salted caramel latte on a cold day

  • 5/5 Daniel B. 1 year ago on Google
Great coffee. The place is very “cool” but potential visitors should understand that it has a small footprint. There are only something like 5 seats inside the shop, and a handful outside. If you’re a coffee explorer, this should definitely be a stop on your list.

  • 5/5 Berdy K. 11 months ago on Google
Small coffee shop with a snaking queue, and you'll know why after trying their coffee.. the turret latte was well-made with just the right texture and proportions, and the seasonal cherry mocha was a pleasant surprise - tasted like actual cherries infused into the blend, didn't taste artificial nor overpowering. Good homely place to drop by after Tsukiji market.

  • 5/5 Alexis B. 1 year ago on Google
Arguably one of the best coffees I’ve had in Tokyo. Each cup is made with care and thought. The place is small, with only a few seatings indoors and outdoors. I think most people get their coffees to go. Everything is excellent but their sea salt caramel latte is on another level. Avoid the Starbucks at the corner and come to this place instead!

  • 5/5 Tricia L. 1 year ago on Google
5-stars deserving! It’s a simple one-man-show coffeeshop close to Tsukiji market with excellent coffee. I must admit it is maybe so far the best coffee I’ve had in Tokyo and somewhat unforgettable. The latte I enjoyed was fragrant and full of punch. This place is definitely worth visiting and re-visiting. It is a coffee speciality shop so don’t expect much from the food/snacks offered here. Be prepared to come just for their coffee.

English friendly coffee shop with thick foam. The turret is strong and smooth, the bitterness concentrated in the foam. Sea salt latte is rich and sweet. You’ll feel full and warm from the whole milk used. Cozy and small with limited seating. A lot of tourists come here. Good way to cleanse your palate after eating seafood at the marketplace.

Finally — a rich, bold espresso! This is my first time ever in Japan and I've tried to visit a new cafe every day in the hunt for an exceptionally well-crafted cappuccino (an important morning ritual for me). Turret Coffee has been one of my favorite places so far during my stay. It's a very small shop and when I went there was only one person working — he was nice and you could tell that he put effort into every cup. The milk foam was silky and was just the right amount to balance the strong espresso flavor. I highly recommend you give them a try!

I’ve been coming back here since my first visit in 2014. Best coffee in Tsukiji, possibly Tokyo. A definite stop to plan for anyone who loves their coffee, and a must go if you are in the Tsukiji area. Be warned - they can/do get slammed during the peak hours, but even then you can always count on the service to be cheerful and friendly. My favourite cuppa is the Turret latte which is thick, rich and full of dark roasted goodness. Still plenty of complexity in the flavour given how robust the coffee is. And those who need a pleasantly strong caffeinated kick to the rear, go for the macchiato - it's amazing.

Cute, cozy coffee shop with incredible coffee. We got the Hawaiian Salt Caramel Late and the seasonal latte macchiato. 🥰☕

Tokyo has a lot of nice cafes but my favorite is Turret Coffee. Their signature Turret latte is the best milked based espresso I've had anywhere in the world thus far. Owner and barista Kiyoshi Kawasaki san is super friendly too. This small cosy cafe is a must visit every time I drop by Tokyo.

I ordered a hot almond latte. Today is a hot day, they asked me if I prefer cold, but I wanted to try how they prepare it hot because the challenge is that the plant milk does not feel curdled or burnt. It was honestly worth it, the almond milk felt and at the same time accompanied the taste of the coffee. I will come back to try other options✨ About the space, it is small, you can spend a while in the place but ideally for a short time. I do not give it 5 stars because when I wanted to throw the glass in the place, they told me that they did not receive it that I had to find another place to throw it, this surprised me because it is a product that I bought in the place and usually specialty coffee shops -or not - they accept the garbage that is produced in their store. I hope you consider having a trash can in the store to receive your own take out cups.

I’m from Melbourne and I miss lattes like sleep. The latte here transported me home it was so,so good. The orange and chocolate cookie was also divine. Will return.

This is the best café in Tokyo, with the best lattes. In particular, the taste is consistent and the lattes are always delicious, whatever the season and whatever the weather.

Delicious coffee, cozy welcoming shop. They have almond milk options for latte as well which is a welcoming alternative for my wife who can drink neither lactose nor soy.

(Translated by Google) On Sunday, a Japanese lady is counted by herself and she's all alone to espresso. I speak English well and the latte is delicious. The tablet latte is very strong because the espresso is doubled. It's too thick to just latte.

If you make a turn off the Main Street you can find this little cozy and very modern coffee shop. Whenever I’m around I always get a coffee here. Relaxing atmosphere, great service and outstandingly exquisite coffee!
