We wanted to have something spicy so they made a customised dish for us which is made of peas and it was tasty! When in Kolkata, how can we miss trying the authentic sweets of Bengal and we hogged onto to few of them and they were absolutely delicious! 🥰 Overall a good experience! 😇

Ilish Festival at Oh! Calcutta.! Enjoy the magic of Hilsa, relieved and rejuvenated at the ongoing Hilsa Festival at Oh! Calcutta. A brand known for its upholding the legacies, traditions and heritage of Bengali culture, this iconic brand aims to put forward a mix of some known and popular coupled with lost and innovative recipes of Ilish from both sides of undivided Bengal. Famed for keeping up to the authentic taste, enjoy the unperturbed taste of Doi Ilish done in a creamy yoghurt gravy and mustard seeds, Ilish Paturi having Hilsa coated in a mustard and green chilli marinade, wrapped in a banana leaf and steamed and the quintessential Ilish Bhaja. Among the more exotic dishes, try the Sea Salt Baked Hilsa having boneless Hilsa and cheese baked together, Amra Diye Ilish, Hilsa flavoured with plum cooked in a fragrant tumeric broth and Kumro Pata Aam Aacharer Ilish having mango pickle seasoned Hilsa and rice, wrapped in pumpkin leaf and steamed. With more dishes on the menu, enjoy bold and robust flavours, with the freshest catch of Hilsa only at Oh! Calcutta. #ohcalcutta #hilsa #ilish #whenstomachtickles

Oh Calcutta! And ohh what a food...!.. yesterday I had the opportunity to visit this place with one of my friends and this place is like beyond what i have expected...the ambience was descent enough and the food was just above par. We had buffet which cost around 1150 /- per person but the money worth the taste, we had fish fry, paneer tikka for chicken kebabs for starters which was good and in main dish we had luchi alur dom alu posto .. chingrir malaikari .. chicken...and mutton...and the mutton was just outstanding it was not so spicy and yet had all the flavours in balance proportions as what one would find at home. So yeah this place is one of the best in town to grab some Bengali dishes and the mutton is a must try.

On the onset I must concur the 3 stars are for the wet washroom. The place was overbooked I guess. Little chaotic it was. They never mentioned the third parties like dine out or zomato for example that they are taking reservations directly. Hence the problem. Now let's get to the food part - it was awesome but since it was only buffet that they were offering !! I believer Ala carte should have been an option too. And better bengali cuisine is available all over Kolkata in fairly lower price. If I glance at the food. Dim er devil was good. Fish fry was too awesome mutton could've been better. I didn't even dare to get close to the fish since it was so so crowded. Desserts were upto the mark. But I must repeat the number of dishes offered in comparison to the price is little steep. Also I must mention I HATE TO WAIT WITH A PLATE IN MY HAND IN A QUE FOR FOOD....Maybe post festive rush it might get better.

The food were fresh and it taste very good. Hospitality of the staffs 10/10. The place was very clean. The food was just a little bit expensive but I think it's worth it. Overall everything was good. I would recommend this place to anyone trying to taste premium Bengoli food but if you are on budget, this place is not the right choice. I hope this helps. Enjoy😊

Firstly we were able to reserve beforehand. Next thing is parking which was free of cost and the securities are very helpful. Next is decoration and ambiance, which is top notch. Bengali instrumental music was playing all the time. After that coming to food, we ordered Manikdar Bhuribhoj (4 thalis for 5 adults, the staffs suggested to take one less). The menu you can find in pics containing both veg and non veg items. Taste is really very good and less oily, perfect spice wise. Liked Mete Chochhori and Mutton Kosha especially. Now coming to price, yes it's a bit expensive for Bengali middle class families but really good for once a year kind of experience. Kids will also like the place. Stuffs are well mannered and very courteous. A must visit place for Bengalis in Kolkata and even for foreigners or non Bengalis who want to taste good Bengali food in both veg and non veg option. 💯 (Few items from thali are missing in pics, like Paturi, deserts etc.

Not gonna lie it is an expensive restaurant, but I think one of the best Bengali cuisine restaurant in the city. Been there at the time of Dashami, we have to wait around 30mins outside after reaching which is quite normal during durga puja. Their hospitality is great. They arranged stand fans, seating area for waiting people. Next to the food We ordered 1. Dhakai fish tikka 2. Chingri morich polao 3. Kosha mangsho 4. Chingri malaikari 5. Laccha Paratha 6. Bhapa Sandesh I love every single of items is delicious and perfectly cooked. If they are serving food like these in such rush time, they definitely worth every penny. **Giving one less star because of they give us a 1lit mineral water of rs160 and they added tax on that too!!

Had some fabulous appetizers here, which included Mochar Chop, nothing like you've ever tasted Chhana Aam Kashundi Paturi and the Murshidabadi Murgi Fry that is incomparable and simply melts in the mouth. The main course wasn't well ordered, so that's for a repeat experience. The Bhapa Sondesh was rather good as well. I just wish that the building elevators to take one up to the restaurant were lit on the inside, but that shouldn't detract from the excellent food.

We booked a table for my parents in law a week before. It’s was very smooth process indeed. The caller was very informative and helpful . I also specifically requested if they could arrange a cake, and to my utter delight they arranged a cake. My parents in law thoroughly enjoyed the food. According to them each and every item was mouthwatering. They opted for buffet! The staffs were friendly and attentive!

Lunch date at @mainlandchinaindia Fresh lime water Chicken sweet corn soup Taipei chicken Rice noodles Chicken with chili and basil in clay pot Nalen gur ice cream... We have been to silver spring to redeem gift coupons from @specialityrestaurantslimited . Presently due to some maintanence issues mainland China is having their dine in section in oh Calcutta (located in the same floor, adjacent to each other). Thus we had the Chinese foods, sitting in an ambience which belongs to Kolkata and bengal more.. If you are afraid of Covid but missing fine dining experiences then this place is just right for you to as they are maintaining hygiene at their best... Apart from temp checking and hand sanitization, every staff is wearing mask and gloves and they are changing gloves after serving each of the guests... Foods are being served in freshly sterilized utensils (steam sterilized may be, because the plates were too hot to touch when they have served us). The behaviour of the staffs are so cordial that makes you feel more at home.. Now coming to the main part... The food... The starters are not only tempting by its appearance but also lip smackingly tasty.. For me the quantity of main course is just fine to serve two. We have taken regular size which was perfect for us.. And the @ohcalcuttaindia special nalen gur ice cream is something I would like to have anytime, especially when I am having a bad day... For me, the whole experience was amazing... And it deserves 🍗🍗🍗🍗🥚... Keep going @mainlandchinaindia @ohcalcuttaindia ...

♥️"Ahhhaaaa... The expression defining the taste belonging to my City of Joy" Oh Calcutta, the flavours of Kolkata is exactly how you define this place. It serves authentic cuisine from our very own 'Rannaghar'. They are maintaining strict protocols on food and kitchen safety amid the pandemic. The food we ordered are👇 Luchi- This is an emotion for any Bengali. Kosha Mangsho - Simmered slow cooked tender mutton pieces. Kachha Lanka Murgi- Chicken Cooked in gravy of green chillies. Ghee Pulau- Pulau in combination of ghee , kaju and kismis. Begun bhaja- Luchi and begun bhaja is a great combination Bhapa Sandesh- The awesome tender raw coconut meat slowly processed into wonderful cube, it was absolutely mouth melting.

Food was like Elixir.. If you want to introduce your non Bengali friend to Bengali food, this is the place. The food was too good. Their cocktails are also nice, perfectly mixed, not too diluted, unlike what other reputed restaurants do. The service was nice. I wasn't aware of the corporate discount, they could have skipped, but the waiter generously asked me on his own, if I want to avail such thing. Good experience, nice music.

We had a wonderful dining experience at this restaurant. We ordered the veg & non-veg thali, the experience was definitely worth the cost. Each item had a distinct taste and was made to perfection. Especially loved the raw banana cutlet, chutney-papad, crispy eggplant and mutton curry along with the gondhoraj nimbu cocktail. The staff was courteous and very enthusiastic to explain to us all the dishes and flavors.

Oh! Calcutta has fallen from grace, very sad to say that. This time, we tried a few starters which were fine as expected. But the buffet was very, very depressing. Both the range of the buffet menu and the quality of the items were not up to the mark, rather ordinary; and it stings you to pay a huge bill after that! A nice gesture (complimentary nolen gur-er ice cream) was shown in an attempt to make up for the food, which I appreciate. But at the end of the new year's ever dinner, the taste lingering in my mouth wasn't that of the ice cream, but a disappointment in a catering close to my heart.

To be very frank with you, I was somewhat disappointed with Oh Calcutta! Silver Spring. No, I don't have any complaints with the staff and service. They are excellent to say the least. But food (we had chosen to have the buffet this time) was the main issue here. In the starter, shim-palong bhapa was superb and fish fry was good. The chicken item was not boneless and was very bland. Rest items were nothing to write about here. In the main course, the Dal was good but mixed veg and phulkopir torkari was worse. I can say with full responsibility that we get better of both at our homes. We were offered prawn malaikari, and mutton curry in the main course. The former was ok types but with lots of sweetness as an overpowering flavour but the latter was a disaster. I never had such bland mutton curry in my life! The mutton also didn't seem to be fresh!! Of course, the staff tried to revive the situation by offering us mutton kasa which was better. The dessert was again a disaster. Payesh was too simple and too sweet. Sandesh was very substandard and rosogolla was not the typical spongy Bengali type. And before I forget, I must say both of them were tiny in size. They offered us vanilla ice cream too, which was again a shocker as previously whenever we went there we found ingenious ice creams like nolen gurer ice cream etc. In short, except the ambience and staff, the food was a disaster. Those two aspects made me give three stars to the outlet which otherwise should have received max 2!! I didn't even bothered to take photographs of the food might give you a hint about how much disappointed we were with it🙄

Dining experience and the taste of food is okayish....when it's time for price , it's not according to portion size. One opinion from my side better to have a thali rather than seperate items.

So my visit to Oh! Calcutta was just worth it. Having taken a day off from my job was really fruitful. My friends and I visited Oh! Calcutta for lunch and opted for Al a Carte. For starters, we tried Posto Narkol Tikki, Fulkopi Aam Kashondi Paturi and Fish Roll. My favourite among them would surely be the paturi. This is really hard to conceive how a vegetarian item with such simple items could taste so wonderful. This is a fairly simple dish but the taste is something which keeps you glued to this place. I'd choose this dish over our regular Ilish Paturi, anyday. Coming to the Fish Roll, it was very tasty as well. The crunchy crust and the core made of fish and shrimp paste, coupled with mustard sauce...that's what I call, my kinda starter. I'm not a fish guy but then, this fried roll was not our ordinary roll. This was indeed special. The Posto Narkol Tikki was amazing as well. I really wonder how the chef manages to bring out the flavours so well out of these common day to day items. For main course, we loved to go, the Bengali traditional way. We loved to have Steamed Rice, Daal and Gota Masalar Lal Murgi. Now, talking of bhaat and daal with some aalu bhaja, we all know that it is incomparable. That is always a bliss. But this was the first time that I had tried the Gota Masalar Lal Murgi. What we generally have it herbs and spices that are all finely ground and added to the food to infuse the flavors. Here, the whole spices were out into the food and was cooked over a slow flame to infuse the flavours. That's a really unique creation and I loved it. For desserts, we had Gulab Jamun and Butterscotch Ice Cream. I have been to the other branch at Forum Mall but I do feel that the ambience and the food is much better here. Thank you Oh! Calcutta for extending an invitation to me.

Shared a special day with Oh Calcutta !! A favourite joint of Bengali food for many years .. The food quality was too good ..starting from the chicken starter, fish fry , bhetki and chingri malaise curry . Koraishuti r dhoka was OK and the posto was good . Will request authorities to look into the entrance from the ground floor which has definitely became shabby and.lack lustre since we visited, app 2 years back before COVID.

Literally a taste of joy if you love fish curries. Oh! Calcutta always gets it right. A fan for long. There is nothing more you want to eat than a goood fish curry while in Calcultta (kolkata, sorry I am feeling nostagic). Amazing taste, warm service, and great value for money. The most sumptuous of all, Macha Jhol with white rice, modest yet soul filling, softness of fish, spiceness of jhol, warmth of white rice, couldn't have asked more for my lunch. Once you are done, there meetha pan for the soul, to live the joy that Kolkata has to offer. Highly recommended to try this place once.

I have previously heard a lot of positive feedback about Oh Calcutta! .......but it was disappointing on our visit. Maybe it was the Covid effect.....or the Durga puja... The staff was very attentive, their fish preparations excellent......ambience not so much. And veg preparations, I found them below par for the price charged. Looking around I could see many families (some with very small kids too) seated.....being pretty vocal amongst themselves. Maybe I went in with too high expectations. I found it mediocre. 🤷

Upscale restaurant for authentic Bengali cuisine. Foods are really mouthwatering and ambience is good enough but price is very much on the higher side. Regarding Silverspring, it has remained unfinished for years. Most of the shops have never opened. The lifts are small. The parking area is spacious but full of filthy odour of blocked and overflown latrines.

Elish paturi + daab chingri was something I was looking forward to . And what a great disappointment it was. Since there is no buffet available (probably due to corona ) we ordered few famous dishes as suggested by friends and what a huge waste of money it was. And not just the taste, the maintenance of the place is so poor that the roof was leaking above the bar area , service was not upto mark and overall it wasn't a pleasant experience.

Tried 3 items out of their Ilish festival - Ilish fish finger, Paturi and plain begun diye jhol. One thing common for all - quality of fish was exceptional. You know from taste that it's fresh. Now coming to individual items - personally I liked the Ilish jhol best with just the right mix of everything needed. Paturi was a little too hot for kids and aged, and lacked probably a pinch of salt. Fish fingers were good, but not too special. But all in all, 5 stars just for the quality of fish alone.. Update: Tried one of Posto Narkel Ilish as well. But I think boneless preparation lost some charm in order to make it boneless. Ilish jhol and Paturi tested much better

Nice place and the foods are excellent. We had Matal chingri and Gondhoraj Vetki as starters and both were amazing. Then in main course we had Polau, rice and biriyani and daab chingri.

This place is very good for visiting with families.....foods are pricey but worth it. If anyone wants to celebrate a festival in complete bengali way it's the right place.
